It will be up to the individual women to decide on which traits they are willing to deal with. For example, I can deal with #1, can't deal with #3 or #6. I don't think anyone can avoid all those traits.

Who told you that? And if other guys are going to buy her gifts, what has that got to do with what YOU did for her? I'm not saying that there should be a certain patricular gift or you should spend a certain amount of money, but you want to make her feel you put some thought and effort into her day.

Maybe the question should have been asked a while ago, "Is it right to date your friend's ex?" If you have already made it beyond that point and are now considering marriage, then why look back? But to answer your question, No, I don't think it is right but it really depends on how close you are as friends.
