Honesty is also always a plus.
RomanceRe: Is Love Possible Within 4 Days? by curiousNja(f): 11:11pm On Apr 22, 2006
Even if he is not lying, I don't think it is love. It is infatuation. Some people dont know the difference and it is very easy to confuse the two. See, if at least yo felt something for him, I would have said that still go along with it and see what develops. Don't write him off as lying right away. But since you feel nothing, set him free already.
FamilyRe: If Your Husband-To-Be "Murders" Queen's English Daily! by curiousNja(f): 10:05am On Apr 22, 2006
DivineOke, it would help if you gave me some examples of how he murders the Queen's English. It could depend on the extent. And I would be worried too depending on the extent. I am more tolerant of people who murder the English Language if there is another language that they speak well. .e.g. If he is Chinese, I know that I can't even speak 1/1000th of the Chinese he speaks compared to my English. Or Italian or Japanese or Puerto Rican. At least I know that he there is one language that he speaks well. English is his second language, so I am more tolerant.  But if the guy is murdering English but still not excelling at any langage, i would be worried.

I think the way one expresses themself says a lot about them and is important in everyday and business life because it affects the ability to get stuff done and get people to take you seriously. And Divine, if you have brought it up on a forum  like this, then this is obviously something that bothers you. Your lack of tolerance would probably only get worse. Right now you may be at the "honeymoon" stage where you tend to gloss over things but when that stage is over, there may be problems and the least thing he does will irritate you.

My father is very educated but there are still some words that he butchers. Especially sometimes in saying Th as "t" (as Papermoon described. My mother used to correct him when we were growing up. In the long run, she ended up picking up some of these bad habits.

Not telling you what to do. Just offering some insights.

I have also noticed Naija men witha different version of the H-factor than what Papermoon described. They add an H to every word that begins with a vowel. e.g.
H-Apron
H-eggs
H-Alexis

I don't understand why.

Yes.
RomanceRe: Is Love Possible Within 4 Days? by curiousNja(f): 9:15am On Apr 22, 2006
^^^ Great advice, Rho!  And a guy who tells you he loves you after only 4 days was probably just trying to sleep with you anyway, no matter how "sincere" he seemed. There are some hypocrites, you know! After they get what they want, you would hardly believe that this is the same guy who told you they loved you. So no hard feelings. Talk to him about this as soon as possible and stop leading him on!
RomanceRe: I Can't Understand These Ladies: by curiousNja(f): 2:42am On Apr 22, 2006
I get your point abou those who just pretend. But sometimes it is not pretense per se. She is saying no because she is undecided as to what to do. Indecisiveness like someone described above. So at the time she says no, she really means no because she is still pondering the decision on whether to say yes or no. Maybe in her head, she is weighing the options or thinking, "Could I live iwth myself if I did something like this?" So when she finally says yes, it doesn't necessarily mean she was just playing hard to get when she said no.
RomanceRe: I Can't Understand These Ladies: by curiousNja(f): 2:28am On Apr 22, 2006
If she gives in too easily without saying no at first, you will say she is easy. Either way, she doesn't win.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: It's Official. I Think I Have A Crush On Seun! by curiousNja(op): 2:23am On Apr 22, 2006
Seun Nwoke - Thanks for the clarification!
That is too funny that you edited the title of the thread to Nwoke. Seun is sexier!
As for my crush, only Nwoke Seun and I know what's going on. Rhodalyn keeps trying to hold on however, but I don't mind because she is a sweet girl! grin
RomanceRe: Define: She Fronts Too Much!?! by curiousNja(f): 2:16am On Apr 22, 2006
In general, fronting is synonymous with 'pretending" so could be used in many contexts. e.g. Fronting (pretending) that you dont like a guy when you do, fronting that you are something that you are not.

RomanceRe: Need Help With My Ex! by curiousNja(f): 3:15am On Apr 17, 2006
He apologized for what happened and said he wasn't ready to see me and wished me luck for the next year.
With this, does she still need to ask where the "relationship" is going? Didn't he spell it out already?
RomanceRe: Need Help With My Ex! by curiousNja(f): 10:19pm On Apr 16, 2006
I think you should move on. Hard at this point, but it will be for the best. Don't you think you have taken enough emotional abuse from him already?

FashionRe: Beautiful Bedroom Pictures | How You See Bedrooms? by curiousNja(f): 6:33pm On Apr 15, 2006
Some of the beds look plain uncomfortable and as a result I dont like the rooms. As nice as a room looks, it should also look cosy. Some of them look so stiff. But I like this one that was posted.
