ShowYourCertificate:Perhaps he has it. Only, he is a bit confused as to how he lost it. (1) It might also be that "Muhammudu Buhari" is not the same as "Mohammed Buhari" who wrote the WASC in 1961. (2) It might be that he did a name change at some point in his adult life and did not document it. Either of the above is true. Buhari has to simply come clean and explain these contradictions. #BuhariTellTheTruth

nagoma:If you claim to be so "intelligent", how can you ignore what was not directed at you. Abeg park well. |
Delafruita:I don't see anything wrong in having the morale strength to admit error. This is what we expect from our leaders as well. Sending wife or fiancée, as in your own case, to US to have a baby and taking out a $500/month serviced apartment, and hiring furniture is no big deal either if you earn an income, or choose to borrow the money. Many Nigerians do this all the time. Depending on which state you are going to in the US, I can help pro bono . Seriously.I do not for 1 sec deny Buhari the right to chose his accommodation preferences, depending on what fits his pocket. Financing a child's university education in the UK is not beans. Buhari has a large young family due to a 2nd young wife, Aisha. That means feeding, school fees, medicals, clothes, etc. By Buhari's own admission, he has no ongoing business venture. He relies 100% on his military pension. After paying N27m or thereabout for his nomination form, and expenses related to his election campaigns in 2007, 2011, and now 2015, there will still be significant gap. Even if we discount the obvious fact that his 2015 campaigns is heavily funded by his party (Tinubu, Amaechi), he still has to spend some of his own money. Where does the extra cash come from? Forget the yam selling stories by Oyegun. That is just politics. The N2.3m/month monthly pension sounds unrealistic. What is the basic salary of a serving General? Usually, it is less than this amount. On retirement, you get a lump sum gratuity payment. Based on annuity calculations, in every case I have seen, the monthly pension after retirement is usually far less than the actual salary when one is in active service. This applies in the military, civil service, and private sector. Do you have hard evidence that Buhari's pension as a retired Major General is N2.3m per month? Please share with us. |
nagoma:I will ignore your insult, and focus on the issue. We have two issues: (1) When was the rental in Buhari's London flat taken out? What is the duration. (2) Who paid for the rental? I don't expect you answer them, because you do not have the facts. Shehu Garba who issued the original statement reads and monitors NL. Lai Mohammed keeps close watch and has many paid agent to distill topics for him to respond to. So far they have maintained studied silence. |
Delafruita:Correct: It was "his rented London flat in the city". I accept the error. I will amend. However, I standby the fact that Shehu Garba's (Buhari's Spokesman) statement made no reference to the duration of the rental, or when he started renting apartments in London. Don't forget the object of the post: Buhari's famed poverty and the totality of his family commitments which does not seem to add up. Who is paying for his daughter's education in UK for example? |
atlwireles: Muslims in NL please educate us. Is this statement by General Buhari true? How about insulting Islam? Is that not covered by Sharia code? If Buhari's version of Sharia jurisprudence is true, why were countless poor Nigerians in Sharia states publicly flogged and their hands amputated for other petty crimes like stealing a goat or chicken. Also, why are Nigerian Breweries beer trucks hampered in the course of their legitimate distribution business and bottles of beer destroyed? #BuhariTellTheTruth |
Delafruita:Perhaps it is "myopic, ignorant, unintelligent, feeble-minded fellows" who have problems engaging in civilized discussion without descending into the cesspit of insults and abuse. Seems Lai Mohammed's mentality has infected all his followers. And what makes you think knowledge about short stay apartments used a lot by Europeans for vacation is such a novelty. I have rented such facilities in Belgium, France and Germany. Bid deal. There are many Nigerians who own apartments in London, and only visit once or twice a year. And who is saying the apartment is rented? The original statement by APC when discussing his itinerary in London, never used the words "short let". This phrase was coined by e-rats in NL Politics section who think they love Buhari more than the rest of us. The original words by APC was "his rented flat in the city". Is that too difficult for you to understand? Abeg park well joor. Buhari aspires to be my President. I have the right to demand explanations from him (not you) surrounding the many contradictions between what he says, and what he does. #BuhariTellTheTruth |
Delafruita:You are the one adding this spin about "short let". The original statement from APC did not say that Buhari's London apartment is "short let". Why are people always so quick to twist things? Buhari himself has not come out to deny or clarify the duration of his London apartment. |
dipo1234:Interesting. Pamela Mojekwu used to write a regular column in Vanguard on fitness and general health matters. She hits the nail on the head. It is the lies and insults by Buhari's handlers. What is the big deal about someone having a medical condition? It will not affect the way people will vote if they are told the truth. Let's wait for the "more info" that Pamela has. We have the right to know the truth. |
adeaks:Those are Mrs Amosun's words not mine. Besides, I gave the link to original article in Daily Times. http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/buhari-uk-rest-says-wife If you think that a portion of Mrs Amosun's speech was wrongly reported, why has she not denied it up till today? We know APC's propaganda machinery is 2nd to none. If there was anything wrong with the way the speech was reported, trust me Lai Mohammed would have been up in arms spitting fire in less than 24 hours. |
argon500:I am not PDP. And I don't know who is "Satanoid". I don't belong to any political party cause I don't see any difference between them. I stand for the truth, and I long for a Nigeria that is run in a manner that will bring prosperity and development to all corners of this country. A nation that is just and fair to all. Period. |

datribune: Anybody can give a prepared speech. Especially if you have Dr Fayemi (an accomplished academic) and other hired professional political coaches to draw-up talking points for you. See Fayemi in the pic with his iPad always in close proximity to Buhari. During the Buhari's Townhall Sessions at Lagos and Kano, Fashola was always on hand to help answer questions. Fayemi was always in front row apparently to ensure the script goes well. What will cut it for me is when Buhari faces up and addresses the following issues back in Nigeria: (1) Apologises for the thousands of Southerners who were slaughtered as a result of his direct utterances during the 2011 elections. (2) He has not re-canted his characterization of Southerners and Christians as "dogs and baboons" whose blood will in the streets if he does not win the 2015 elections. (3) He comes clean on his WASC certificate saga, and tells us if he got into the army through the backdoor since he did pass Mathematics. Requirement was 5 credits including English and Maths. (4) Comes clean about the confusion regarding his true identity and his name. Is his name "Mohamed Buhari" as we have seen in his school record, or is it "Muhammadu Buhari" as we now know him? Did he hire someone to write his WASC exams? If he wrote that exams, at what point in his life did Buhari change his name? (5) Explains why he made the statement that attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North. What does he mean by that? (6) Explains the statement he made in Seminar that he will do everything openly and within his heart to ensure that Sharia is implemented all over Nigeria. (7) Agrees to similar unscripted session and open debate back home in Nigeria. Why would a man who wants to govern over 120million souls supposedly give a frank talk overseas, but clamp up and play recluse back home. In front of his people, he loses his power of speech. I don't get it! How many of the millions of Nigerians have access to livestream to listen to Buhari in far away London? #BuhariTellTheTruth (BTTT) BringBackBuhari (BBB)

Ttalk:Are these the people who will run the government for Buhari by proxy? The campaigns will soon be over. Governance will have to start. Buhari has to demonstrate that he can steer the ship of state in a tupsy-turvy and murky terrain of Nigerian politics. A very corrupt National Assembly that sets salary and emoluments for itself that exceeds that of US President is waiting for him to deal with. How will he manage without allowing the sleaze to continue? |
Azo:Humour is one thing. Honesty is of purpose is another kettle of fish altogether. Even the devil deployed wit and guile to try and tempt Jesus. I have said it a thousand times, I have no personal problem with Buhari as a person, his wit inclusive (though I still struggle to know when he acquired this new trait). He has always cut the image of an angry, vengeful, unforgiving soul. Not sure when he got converted. May be this is another product of intensive coaching by his handlers. I have deep concerns about what really lurks in his heart. Can a man wipe away all the issues I raised by one single sentence in far away London? " I used to be known as a dictator, but now I am a converted democrat". Democrats take great delight in facing their opponents and demonstrating to the people why his ideas are superior. Dodging public debates or getting irritated and angry when challenged is not the hallmark of true democrats. #BuhariTellTheTruth |

50calibre:Precisely my problem with Buhari. His first task if he wins this election would be to get rid of Tinubu fast!!! Tinubu shadowing and hovering over Buhari does not do his credibility any good at all |
baye2023:This is a rehearsed phrase straight from Dr Fayemi. Nights of prep work and cramming on display. See Fayemi clutching his iPad and straining to ensure Buhari says the right things. Why can't he just face GEJ back home in an unscripted debate so we can hear the ideas that come from Buhari's skull?

funsoul:Need an interpreter in there oooo! Else, the British media will take Nigeria to the cleaners with caustic headlines tomorrow. |
Hope the camera will follow him into the toilet when he goes in to poo. Why does Buhari feel he has take shots of himself when he leaves his condominium, take shots of himself when he reads newspaper, take shot of himself when he drinks tea with Tony Blair? Haba!! Is he a tourist . Did he go to London to take pictures?#BringBackBuhari (BBB) #BuhariTellTheTruth (BTTT) #BringBackBuhari4Debate |
APC is more nimble in the propaganda war underlying this election. They got wind of the planned protest, and APC Spokesman Lai-r Mohammed quickly issued a statement saying PDP has hired people to protest at Chatham House. |
Kokopos:Is this how party officials and Buhari's wife will be stepping in to run a complex country with myriads of problems for Buhari? General! To govern Nigeria no be beans ooooooo. Just 4 weeks of campaigns and you are already scurrying away to London to go and rest. At least his wife Aisha said so. Come back home and rest in Daura or Jos. The weather is very cool in Jos. If Boko Haram wahala is too much in the North, then go to Tinapa in Calabar and cool off there. #BuhariTellTheTruth (BTTT) #BringBackBuhari (BBB) |
1stCitizen:Big deal is Buhari claims to be extremely poor. So where did he come about the money to rent a condominium in London? Where did he get the money to finance his daughter's education in UK? His wife says he went to London to rest, not to attend hospital. This in the middle of the most keenly contested election he has ever faced. Since when did Buhari start going to London to rest and not Daura? These are troubling questions we want our future President to address. We want to know the truth about this man's #BuhariTellThe Truth (BTTT) #BringBackBuhari (BBB) #BringBackBuhari4Debate |
ayukdaboss:What is trash about these troubling issues? (1) For a start. What is General Buhari's real name? Is it "Mohamed Buhari" or "Muhammadu Buhari"?. His true identity is doubtful. (2) Buhari has been dribbling the whole world about the whereabout of his WASC certificate. (a) Is it with INEC? No! Disproved! (b) Is it with Army Secretary? No! Disproved (c) It is with my School Principal. They cooked up a doctored Statement of Result and gave to Premium Times to publish. (3) He was never eligible to be commissioned as an Officer in the Nigerian Army. He got F9 in maths, when the entry requirement was 5 credits including English and Maths. See attached. (4) Buhari's wife Aisha has just been busted for parading fake degree from an illegal satellite campus Ambrose Alli University in Kaduna. Sounds uncannily like University of Chicago (USA) at Toronto (Canada) certificate of Bola Tinubu. (5) Buhari claims he earned an MSc degree from US War College (USWC) in 1980 at a time the institution has not begun to award such degree. USWC started awarding the MSc in 2000. When will Buhari come clean and tell us the truth? Must everything Tinubu get involved be fraudulent? Tinubu has tainted Buhari's otherwise clean image. #BringBackBuhari (BBB) #BringBackBuhari4Debate #BuhariTellTheTruth (BTTT) |

adeaks:Sound logic should always work when tested in a variety of scenarios. It should not only work in one instance. This is the fundamental crucible for testing all Truths. It is also the basis for all science. Either we accept the implication of her statement that all youths who cannot find work today are just plain lazy, or we must accept that the fact that her statement was wrong and ill-advised. In any case, Mrs Amosun also "warned Nigerians against setting their expectations too high if the APC wins the March 28 presidential elections". What is the meaning of that statement? Is General Buhari beginning to backtrack on his grandiose promises of turning Nigeria into instant Eldorado the moment he takes power. Some of them are: (1) Boko Haram will cease fire, or be annihilated immediately he assumes office. No more bombings of markets, schools and churches. (2) Provide free meals to all primary school children all over Nigeria. (3) Pay unemployment allowance to all unemployed graduates. etc, etc, etc Is the goal post being shifting already? |
whizpet:Another bombast from a shameless executive governor, turned driver to Fayemi, turned Campaign Manager to Buhari, turned Area Boy, turned rumor monger. All his mates are hunkered down in the serious of running their states, and discharging the enormous responsibilities of the office of a Governor. Amaechi has abandoned his office and is now having daily nightmares about a mere woman, Patience Jonathan. |
Caseless:He will have to win first, before the word "till" begins to make sense. So far he cannot pluck up courage to come and face his opponent in an open debate, so the electorates can understand his programmes. Seriously, General Buhari must stop this tea drinking, cup-cake chewing circus in London, and come back here to face the electorates. The electorates are here in Nigeria, not in UK. #BringBackBuhari (BBB) #BringBackBuhari4Debate #BuhariTellTheTruth (BTTT) |
Caseless:The first of those arrangee town halls was held in Lagos with LCCI and MAN supposedly as main target audience. It was carried live on Channels TV and AIT. Gov Fashola at various times helped Buhari to answer some of the questions. Channels and AIT records are there for your reference. It cannot be altered. |
adeaks:You try with your spin. I will only advise you to try harder, because it does not wash. Are you telling us that jobs will be created, and Nigerians are such a bunch of mumus that they will sit idly an expect the What you and Mrs Olufunsho Amosun are saying in effect is that it is the faults of youths and graduates currently without jobs because they are just too lazy to pick themselves up to go and pick up the jobs. Hope you realise you are insulting the intelligence of Nigerian youths. Wetin pesin no go hear from these APC spin doctors? |
