DDoubleUps:Totally agree with you bro. There is no day we don't mention Buhari's new govt in our daily prayers, that God will give him the wisdom to succeed. But the man has to start by taking simple right decisions. So much hope and expectation is invested in this man, he has assumed a messianic aura among Nigerians and international community alike. Starting so early to break simple campaign promises is not doing his credibility any good at all. In politics, simple things matter a lot. Why for example did the Director of Public Prosecutions withdraw with such the long standing corruption case against APC governorship aspirant in Bayelsa State, Timpre Sylva, barely 48 hours after Buhari is sworn in? The signs are ominous. ![]() |
Timpre Sylva APC Governorship candidate of Bayelsa forgiven. Corruption case withdrawn by Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) https://www.nairaland.com/2351049/corruption-case-against-sylva-withdrawn This is similar pardon that Jonathan granted his political godfather, Alameyisiegha, and he was lampooned by the press for being soft on corruption. Waiting to see if Tinubu's Nation newspaper will report this at all. |
https://www.nairaland.com/2351049/corruption-case-against-sylva-withdrawn With the announcement today by Director of Public Prosecution, Mr D.S. Diri of Federal Ministry of Justices that Buhari's government has withdrawn the EFCC N2.4 billion corruption case against the profoundly corrupt ex-Bayelsa State Gov Timpre Sylva, and APC chieftain, it is now confirmed that the central plank of Buhari's campaign promise to fight corruption across board is firmly broken. It is now clear that if Buhari will fight corruption, it will be against his perceived enemies. People like Bola Tinubu and corrupt former PDP members like Dino Melaye, who have sought shelter in APC will be spared. Subsidy cabal members like Wale Tinubu of OANDO will have nothing to fear from Buhari. |
Obijulius:It seems he is actually systematically breaking the promises. Three promises broken so far: 1. Public declaration of assets Buhari's Action: Buhari and Osibanjo declared their assets secretly, a classical move locking the barn front door while leaving the back door wide open for the horse to bolt anytime it feels like. 2. No Office of First Lady Buhari's Action: Official portrait of Aisha Buhari released last week. Aisha actually assumed that office even before the husband was inaugurated on 29th May. She led Nigerian delegation to the Conference in Argentina as First-Lady Elect mid May 2015. 3. Trim Size of Government bureaucracy. Buhari's Action: Buhari announced today, 1st June 2015 the appointment of 2 media aides (Garba Shehu and Femi Adesina, current Chief Editor of Sun newspaper) in one fell swoop!!! Why does the President need two media aides? ![]() |
swit4real:82. Payment of monthly stipend to unemployed graduates. 83. Office of First Lady to be abolished 84. End Boko Haram insurgency in the North East bombings all over the country within 100 days in office |
Personally, I do not have anything against that office so long it is used for greater public good and charity works, and not the charade Patience Jonathan turned it into. |
aresa:It is an official picture. You do not issue an official picture with the National flag from the Presidency if it is not for her First Lady office. Why was this not issued before inauguration or during the campaigns. |
1st Promise Broken: Declares Assets Secretly. During his campaigns, Buhari had promised as part of his 1st 100 days in office to declare his assets publicly. Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), said he would publicly declare his assets and liabilities, if voted into power. Buhari stated this in a document obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday. The document highlights what Buhari will do in his first 100 days if he assumes power on May 29. He said he would encourage political appointees in his administration to also declare their assets publicly. http://www.punchng.com/news/i-will-declare-my-assets-publicly-buhari/ 2nd Promise Broken: Buhari Gives Office of First Lady to Aisha. Buhari had promised during his campaigns that he will abolish that office. Today the official portrait of Aisha Buhari sitting regally with the Nigerian flag behind her was released officially by the new Buhari Presidency. http://lindaikeji..com/2015/05/official-portrait-of-new-first-lady.html As a matter of fact this promise was broken before his inauguration when the new First Lady led wives of APC Governors and other APC women chieftains to a jamboree Conference in Argentina in her expected new official capacity as First Lady. (See second picture below). http://www.channelstv.com/2015/05/12/aisha-buhari-seeks-legislation-against-early-marriage/ Mrs Buhari herself gave insight to her desire to retain the First Lady office when she said during the campaigns that "she will be a wife to her husband’s first before being the First Lady". As if that was ever in doubt. 3rd Promise Broken: Buhari says He Will Not Go After Past Cases of Corruption To my knowledge, there is no statute of limitation on corruption in Nigeria laws and Penal Code. So why is Buhari chaining himself in this manner? Or does he plan to do it OBJ style - selectively against his enemies? Buhari said during his inaugural speech that those who think he will come after them should perish the thought. He said "the past should belong to he past". Please note that that Buhari would go after past leaders and highly placed persons only on account of their massive corruption, nothing else. So essentially, he is saying he is not interested in PAST CURROPTION, only FUTURE CURROPTION. This is a very strange concept, that even dwarfs GEJ much vaunted "stealing is not corruption" campaign mantra of APC

Where is the details of the Asset Declaration ![]() Is it supposed be a secret ![]() These people have started already with deception. Ye paripa !!!! ![]() |
konji na bastard ![]() |
He also promised to: 1. Find and bring back the Chibok girls 2. End the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East. End BH bombings everywhere in Nigeria, and drive BH out of Nigeria. 3. Provide school lunch to children in all Secondary and Primary Schools in Nigeria. 4. Provide free healthcare and free education 5. End Power outage and guaranty stable power supply 6. Abolish First Ladyship 7. End corruption in Nigeria 8. Endure naira appreciates to $1 = N1 (naira-dollar parity) I am convinced Buhari can achieve all these and more if only the thieving crowd who put him in power can give him space. |
Mogidi:LOL ![]() Probably will hand it over to Fashola and Fayemi (the brain box of APC) to read and interpret for him.... ......... I'm just joking ooooo!!! ![]() |
Is this not the same handover to Buhari on 28th May that APC Paranoia machinery were having a hard time understanding. Thank God GMB finally understood the good sense in dispensing with documentation process before the ceremonial swearing in and parades tomorrow, 29th May. I pray, after swearing in GMB will continue to push back on the overbearing and psychotic paranoia of Lai Mohammed and Tinubu.

Jaywilzee:Very tough ![]() The Lord is my Helper and my Rock! |
Built2last:Dream on. Buhari will pay Wale Tinubu (Oando) and Femi Otedola (Forte Oil) fast. He will even close eye sign the cheque. Think say to finance election na beans? Where do you think all those chartered campaign jets, and billions of naira expended on GMB campaign came from? The fuel cabal boys are already enjoying cozy relationship with Buhari's family. No be Wale Tinubu dey rock selfie for helicopter so with Aisha Buhari?? https://www.nairaland.com/2316453/photo-buharis-wife-chopper-oandos http://lindaikeji..com/2015/05/photo-buharis-wife-in-chopper-with.html

These days the mad proclivity for women to put on the most racy and revealing outfits to show as much of their body parts has assumed worrying proportions. They go full frontal, show butt-cracks, allow their baby milk tank to pop out barely covering the nipples, or complete see through. Previously, it was just attention seeking so-called celebrities who did this for obvious reasons, namely to market themselves. Unfortunately, these days, little girls, teenagers and school children, market women, and for crying out loud, even female pastors have joined the craze. ![]() We have to start a campaign to stop this madness. Not sure men are enjoying it at all. If they stop this unsolicited body exposure, the men folk will not complain. As a matter of fact, men want potential wife material to conceal the "goods". Why expose your assets for the whole world to ogle and use as wall paper, and object of derision. Finding husband is becoming harder for these ladies, and they wonder why. Another crazy fad is to slim fit normal skirt to expose all the contours of the buttocks and camel toe cleavage. This is the most annoying thing. You look at Choristers and ushers in church, and wonder if they are there to worship God to displays their wares? I am just tired of these visual harassment. There are sometimes I just feel like carrying my Bible and going home in the middle of the church service. Haba!!! Just look at what Nya Lee, the hip-hop star wore to the Mayweather-Pacman boxing match yesterday in attached picture. This is too much naaaa I will start posting outrageous pictures of the more crazy ones. Please post and comment as well. #CoverUp #DontExpose #IdontWantToSee

Gerontocracy in overdrive ![]() |
handsometokunbo:I ignore the insult. Focus on issues. No one, at least not me, is bitter about Buhari's election. Elections were over 4 weeks ago. We are transiting to governance. Hello oooo. Hope you are in this planet? Buhari does not belong to you. He is Nigeria's President. Don't imprison him. Free the man. GEJ will tell you more about being taken prisoner by palace courtiers. Buhari's constituency is Nigeria. Not every comment is meant to harm. The need to have strong and quality representation from all part of Nigeria, not only in the Transition Committee, but also in the incoming cabinet is a good one. Buhari needs to have access to diverse opinions and feel the pulse of the all peoples of Nigeria, not only "yes men". There were a lot of hue and cry of Igbo domination of GEJ govt, though I don't know how this came about since all sections of the country were represented in the cabinet in deference to the constitutional restriction of Federal Character and 2 minsters from each state. Others chose to go there and adopt siddon look approach like. Some were mute and invisible ministers like Adoke Mohammed the Minister for Justices. We also forget that apart from the Cabinet, there are many MDA's and Boards of companies, Universities and various tertiary institutions where FG owns, or has interest. People from all sections of the Country sit and oversee these organisations. They were not all Igbos |
barackodam:Ok oooo. May God bless your hustle. Try your best, and God will crown your effort with success. |
