I'm just surprised you know alot abt your friend's relationship. Why don't you introduce your friend to this thread, so that she'd get the help she needs instead of this back and forth scenerios. I wouldn't want your hubby to think there is something fishy with you being all hyper into your friend's matters. monchat: She said he is from EU family (Austria) and got a working visa which he do renew every 2 or 5years. That he has stayed now in uk for 5years but applied for permanent stay last year, was refused, so he is planning to re-apply again to get it and fill for her. |

It's Fifteen Minutes to Three not Four. About the Directions, From Surulere, find your way to Barracks or Stadium Bus Stop then Board a BRT Bus to CMS. From CMS, board a bus going to Lekki/Jakande. Drop at Lekki Phase 1. Use the Pedestrian Bridge to cross to the other Side and Walk into the Main Entrance of Lekki Phase 1. Take a Bike to Africa Lane, its about 150 or 200 I guess. You would be dropped at the Gate. Walk down to the Hotel. coolangel54: Owk people, I just received my Speaking Test detaild now in my inbox. It is at Ellyville Hotel, 8 Africa Lane, off Admiralty way, Lekki phase 1, Lagos and the time is 14:45( which I believe is ffteen minutes to four, abeg make una correct me if am wrong). I am not familiar with Lag so I need directionz please. I will be staying in Surlere (with a friend) or Ikeja (with a family member) |

Thanks simiolu1: You see, programming is 40% of the code you write and 60% a myriad of other skills. You can know how to program without having those other skills. Very much possible.
Unlimited22, this small epistle is for you
If you can get your hands on any Introduction to Computer Science course by Harvard, Stanford or MIT, please do. The course will teach you basics that you will be glad you learned earlier.
Secondly, try get your hands on Foundations of Programming by Lynda.com. Lynda.com is now part of LinkedIn so if you sign up for a premium account on LinkedIn, you'd get all Lynda.com courses for free as part of LonkedIn learning. Premium accounts have a 30day free trial period.
If you eventually go with the LinkedIn option since it is free, check out the Become a front end developer learning track. It teaches HTML, CSS and JS.
If I were you, I'd also check out the Improve your JS skills learning track followed by the Become a React Developer Track and then Improve your React skills track. These 3 learning tracks will improve your JS knowledge and you'd be exposed to the world of JS libraries, frameworks and Single Page Applications.
To learn Node, just take a look at the Become a full stack developer track. This track will expose you to the MEAN stack (MongoDb, Express, Angular and Node). But since you might be familiar with React if you took the React courses, you can swap out Angular for React thereby having the MERN stack.
In the end, you'd still need to learn about text editors, the command line, version control and testing. If you decide to learn a back end language, you can't escape knowing about servers (VPS, Shared hosting, IaaS, PaaS), databases (design, implementation, etc), application architecture and a myriad of other things I can't remember right now.
This is not in any way to scare you, believe me, most people who want to learn programming don't know the number of things/technology they need to know about just to function as a programmer so they drop out when they realise how ignorant they still are despite spending 3 months learning HTML and CSS.
Lest I forget, Lynda.com beats Udemy hands down by miles and the only udemy course I have ever enjoyed are the ones by Maximilian (academind is his YouTube channel).
All the best!!!!! |

It's well Madam. I've told myself that the more I think about the result, the more I won't be able to move on and practice for another test. After receiving my TRF from British Council, I went straight to MOD/IDP and registered for April 21 date. However, I would apply for a remark at BC on Monday. 8.5, 9, 6, 7.5 in LRWS is not beans to throw away just like that. It would end in praise for all of us. sthillz: Ive been sulking all day jare LOL
My IELTS results shook me o. first thing I said to my husband was "this is not my result"
First Attempt
L-7.5
R-8.5
W-7.0
S-8.0
My second attempt written march 24th L-7.5 R-6.5 W-7.0 S-7.0
I was really shocked because I found reading super easy and I went over my answers couple of times. I was also certain I would ace listening but I was unsure about writing and speaking but there we have it.
My husband got L-6. R-6, W-7 and S-7
So we decided only I will re-write..his scores gives me 16 points. (I'm the PA), I'm going with IDP next time. Its obvious something isn't right with British Council
I am forging ahead! My body, soul and spirit is certainly not in Nigeria anymore For those of us in the same boat, lets not give up please
The rewards are too great |

Okay. Thanks DadR: Ok, so she enrolled for a year internship after completing a two-year full time National Diploma programme in Computer Science after which she got a full time job as a Customer Care Officer and enrolled for a part time B.Sc programme. She's got 5 years work experience as a CCO but this doesn't hold water under FSW EE shii cos it falls under NOC C.

Just curious DadR, please was her Internship during her Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate? I'm asking cos I was working part time while undergoing my masters programme. Although, I believe this also was the case for Dupyshoo's sister but I believe her profile was still eligible. So u mentioning this got my attention, I'd wait for ur response. DadR: @mcstan18, @glitteringstar, @newmum0615
Recall we had a deliberation around using a year paid internship as a year work experience, it was actually for my spouse. Ontario's issuance of NOI to candidates with CRS as low as 351 in their last draw prompted me to create a profile for her to see if we could get an NOI because her paid internship was in an IT role. I've just created the profile but it returned ineligible and the simple reason was because the date she commenced her internship precedes the date her certificate was issued (date qualified to practise in that field).
Just thought I should share this information because of those who might be in same shoe now or in future.

Exactly! Atleast he was sincere that the thread was too long for him to read unlike one of my uncle on this thread whom of recent said he had read the entire thread without finding the optimum IELTS score for the process. mcstan18: People devoted their time to read, research, read again, interpret content as they relate to specific inquiries and type responses. All that's required of you is to read and apply but alas, you are too tired to.
You see, that's unfair to those who sacrificed their time and resources to hand you a "very long" thread to guide you. You know what? Even if someone summarizes for you, you'd still do the needful. So why not start now? You can do so by clicking HERE |
