Congratulations ewa2014: Glory be to God!!! My Father and my Redeemer...
This journey started Jan 2017 when I wrote IELTS and got (9,8.5,7.5,7) in LSRW in one sitting and I was like wow by June 2017 I’ll be in Canada (LOL).
But ECA did me strong thing, getting my LL.B transcript took about 4months as some years of my result was missing. It was not even funny at all. Lucky for me, I live in the town where I schooled so every week I’ll go to follow up. Sometimes even twice in the week... Eventually we had to go to my faculty to manually retrieve result from handwritten mark sheets submitted by the lecturers as at 2003/2004... imagine the pile of dust and all... But after 4 months we got finally sorted out the compilation of Transcript and sent to WES. All the while my foreign MBA had been evaluated (I did not know I could just do highest qualification only).
My ECA came in July 2017. I quickly dived into the pool... got ITA and submitted August 13th. August 30th I got ADR for Travel History Form, I submitted and the next day my application was cancelled for not including UK PCC.
I went back into the pool on the 1st of Sept and applied for UK PCC. I got ITA first week in September and submitted 18th September 2017. See my timeline below:
AOR- 18th September 2017 NA2- 2nd October 2017 FTD- 7th November 2017 IP2/ADR-16th February 2018 (Height &Eye colour and Bio Data pages) PPR mail - 26th February 2018
Passport sent to Accra - 26th February 2018 Received in Accra - 28th February 2018 PUM- 12th March 2018 Approved - 13th March 2018 COPR- 15th March 2018 Left Nigeria - 20th March 2018 Arrived Alberta- 21st March 2018
Some highlights of my Application (major thanks to the wealth of information shared on this platform): *the 2nd attempt was more straight forward as I moved spouse’s Experiences to personal history *i uploaded documents for only jobs I was claiming points for, moved the others to personal experience (In previous application I uploaded letters for all previous jobs cumulatively over 9years and my present one which is self owned Firm) * my LOE was one page and more straight forward (the first had over 4pages) * I notarized the letter from spouse saying money in his account was for our immigration purpose and that I had access to it. Basically the entire POF was spouse’s. *i added ielts, ECA to education certificate (I dint do this for the first).
I give all the glory to God, what started like a dream has become a reality... I don’t even know how to express my gratitude... my application has its lows and delays but through it all, my Visa officer was like an angel. He replied all status enquires politely and continually gave me hope through it all...
Also, please if you are on LinkedIn, ensure your profile is updated and accurate just as you filled in your e-APR. when i was told that my background check was ongoing, I noticed my profile was checked by “ControlRisks” a UK based firm that also handles immigration security, travel security, etc. I doubt this was a coincidence.
Finally, don’t be afraid to reach out to your Visa Office with any enquires, requests or plea as the case may be. I needed my Passport stamping expedited and I wrote to London after getting PPR, and honestly it’s the best decision ever made... My Visa Officer took it upon himself to ensure Accra stamped the passports in a timely fashion...He would even mail me from time to time to ask if it had been stamped and eventually mailed to tell me it was stamped and would be delivered same week... hence why I got PUM before approval (Please don’t abuse this privilege except you have genuine reasons for it, so we don’t ruin the chances of others with real emergencies)
The kind of favour I experienced through it all, it was definitely God at work.
I made some amazing friends too especially @bigfido and @mrsda. Thanks also to @feygbe and all those in the August and September WhatsApp group, the LVO group as well as the Post-PPR groups... the journey would have been incomplete without you all.
May God bless you all and may all our dreams and aspirations become valid!!!
One love!!! |

Uncle Blue Biro, There is God ooooo Kontinu mcstan18: Take a look at the tiebreaking rule - March 3 . So between March 3 and March 14, very high CRS score applicants entered the pool. The stats are scary sha. At this rate, only back-to-back-to-back draws will have a material impact on the draws cut-off score.
Well, I'll still be here in the thread having fun with my virtual family while also sitting in the pool sipping zobo.
In other news, any single lady below 30, with an MSc, 3 years work experience who is interested in getting married this year should contact me. I have a message for you from the "lawd".
If draws won't drop, let's kukuma increase our score anyhow. Acant shout |

It would be awkward for me to post something that wasn't verified by me yet. As indictated in my N.B. towards the end of my post, I got my refund mail 2 days ago and due to work schedule, I was unable to share immidiately. So by answering your question on withholding information, I only waited for the right time to release and I doubt two days is too long a time to withold the information. You can agree some members do not post landed stories or PPR testimonies immediately. Emmasonic4me: Thanks for the clarification. However, I'm just curious to know why you have hidden this information from this forum until I found and posted it here.
I thought we are all helping each other with vital information here. Anyways, now that it has come to bare, let those who are affected explore it. |

Hi, This is true but I would like to make some clarifications on some parts not totally true as I have gotten the mail for my HST refund. 1. The refund is not at a fixed at $37.05 as mentioned. I want to believe that's the amount to be refunded if you paid $322 (International Courier of ECA). I got a refund of $26.91 because I paid $233 (Standard Shipping of ECA) 2. The HST is not only paid by Canadians, it is paid by anyone who does a transaction within Canada either Canadian or Nigerian or Indian. However, a Non-Canadian who does not live within Canada can request for a refund of the HST after such transaction has been successfully carried out upon evidence that he does not live in Canada - in this case, the mailing address of where the ECA was sent to or the mailing address on the card of payment. I hope this helps. Thanks. N.B. I applied for the refund first week of January and just got a response 2 days ago. Emmasonic4me: Did you know you can get a refund of the harmonized sales tax (HST) after evaluating your credentials with WES??
I just stumbled on this(attached screenshots) and some people who tried it have recorded successful refund of $37.05. It was discussed that the HST is paid by Canadians and since we are not (at this point), it shouldn't have been part of the bill.
I used IQAS for my ECA so it doesn't apply. Please let's explore this and see what happens for those who used WES.
Caveat: I do not know yet if there's a time frame or validity period to ask for a refund.

Hello, the response from WES is due to the fact that your Diploma Transcript was not added. You would need to apply for your Diploma Transcript from the School of Foundation Studies for 2.5k and request it to be sent to the Unilag Records Office. However, this means you would have to pay the 18.5k(16k courier & 2.5k) for the transcript again for this service. You would then notify the Records Office about this and ask them to wait for the receipt of your transcript before sending it to WES as shown below. I hope this helps. Elle78: Good afternoon everyone.
Please Is there anyone who obtained a degree following a diploma from unilag and successfully evaluated his/her BSC/BA degree with WES. I received the status update on my Wes and don't know how to go about it.
Please note that I am not trying to evaluate my diploma. Apparently, the transcript shows from 200L-400L.
Thanks for the response in advance.

NO, It can't. I say that authoritatively because I tried evaluating both and it came out as Just B.Sc Equivalent. Hello Fax for your personal Certificate would do just fine while courier for the transcript to be sent by the school. MisterT: Hello Guys does anyone know if you Unilag diploma and Unilag BSc would be considered as two certificates under the express entry system? Also with respect to WES in sending my certificates must it be via courier only. Is there another way/method? If yes please share.
Just to add that the Unilag diploma was a 1 year program and thereafter i was granted admission thru the direct entry route to year 2.
Thanks.
It shall end in Praise |

Hello, how about if one actually worked at the same time when running a masters program. E.g May - July, Work & May - July, M.Sc would that mean issues while filling form Santino1: Sorry man, the PM thing doesn't work for me.
Well, you're gonna have to check again. Also, you have to check the other parts of your forms. For instance, you can't say you are unemployed Between May to July in personal history whereas other parts of the form e.g education or work history says you were in school/working until the end of May. Just go over all parts of the form (not just personal activities) and ensure there are no discrepancies. |

Special thanks to 40manlappy who has been a pillar of support all through this journey and thank you to everyone on this platform. I used to be very active on this platform few months back, but went off due to personal reason, and I am happy I am finally here with the good news.
My application was far from perfect and I had quite a number of LOEs in my application and I still thank God it was concluded in 20 days. I submitted reference letters ONLY for my work experience, as both businesses do not give payslips and no questions were asked, as the letters had all required information. There were many errors on our marriage certificate, like occupation, date of birth and we addressed them upfront with affidavit and LOE. I did not notarize my gift deed, as I didn't think it was necessary as I had two witnesses who signed it, after submission I started seeing different opinions of people saying it had to be notarized and I just prayed. We also used sale of land as part of our POF and submitted ONLY the agreement of sale with the previous owner and new sale agreement with the new buyer and it was accepted. In all, let us try our best with our applications and don't be scared of anything, do your best, ask for advice and commit it all to God, it will end in praise.

Ok Boss13: Sir, you should be able to separate sarcasm from holistic picture. I was only elaborating on being clinical. I know people who submitted pictures (nothing wrong with that other than it being funny).
My intention is not to create panic as I have seen that those who have submitted are a bit worried and honestly my advice is actually not for you - you have submitted and it is out of your control. It is meant for those who are in the process of submission. Hence I think it is obviously wrong for those who have submitted to critique.
Those who have not submitted have a choice. They can choose to be clinical or do otherwise, but to tell them to do as you do - IS WRONG. For example, your friend is a lawyer and works in a chamber as an employee. You, probably a lawyer working for yourself - Both your application are very different.
IRCC continues to insist that each application is unique and decisions are made based on the uniqueness of the application. I have painstakingly downloaded the IRCC code of practice and read a large amount of it (it is on their website). The validity of your application is strongly based on their requirements and supporting documents made available and where there are obviously doubts, additional documents will be required and other methods utilized to reach a decision.
In conclusion, especially for those who choose to read and interpret differently, all I have been saying is to avoid stress and emotional trauma; package your application clinically in order to get your PPR within the shortest possible time. Please note that I never mentioned that those who are delayed will not get PPR, but that waiting period is a traumatic experience, where a lot of people begin to question their God.
The Immigration Minister has recently released his plan for next year with the view of reducing the processing time. This is also evidenced by the lower period of having medical pass and some applicants are getting their PPR within 2 weeks. As at now, the average time for processing normal application is 3 months. Any thing other than that moves to various Local Visa Offices for further review. Please save yourself from such situation.
Cheers! |

Hi, sorry for not responding in your previous posts. My B.Sc had been successfully verified and accepted by WES. However, my Diploma documents were left unattended to along side other diploma documents awaiting verification at the records office. Anyway, I discovered this yesterday when I went to the Records office to make a complain and made sure the documents were transferred to the Diploma office for processing. I would keep you posted when the verification is sent. dombosco: @GlitteringStar thanks for this. That means a Unilag diploma and a Unilag B.Sc will count as two or more certificates. Am actually waiting for @Cutegu201 who is verifying these two certs with WES. Let’s wait for his evaluation result. |
