Xiadnat:

Lamentations of a broke nigga.
Go hustle op. You are likely the kind that will leave a girl who has suffered with you.
Makes it sound like money is the only thing you lot to offer a woman. Thats why you lot focus on money before women.
Build and develop other aspects of who you are and offer that to a woman; then watch how you will attract quality women.
There are plenty michelle obamas out there looking for their barack; only most men are blinded by pursuit of money first cause they lack substatinally on other areas.
What you lack in character and personality, you cannot make up with money. keep deceiving yourself....you have the cash, you have the assssss |

My daughters will never be dependent on a guy for make-ups and hair do. It is not your fault that you are like this. Many people from poor homes often try to escape poverty at all cost. Sanchez01: You still don't get it;
1. OP mentioned rice, and his discourse was rice, STRICTLY. 2. She quoted him to ask the OP if he had tried other Ghanian delicacies, to which his response implied he had not. 3. She quoted again, claiming the OP 'berated a dish' (the OP mentioned rice in his post and no other food).
Going by the points above, the OP only talked down on their rice, whereas, she was the one who mentioned and suggested that the OP try other Ghanaian dishes. I still don't get the 'berating what you have not tasted' part. bros you suppose know say when we speak grammar enter one level...we begin to speak in tongues... |

The art of Manning up to get married despite the low income is what I have analysed. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this my lady before a guy will think of getting married to you, "Affordability" will not be out of the scope. Marrying out of pity is a choice my dear! pocohantas: The problem is the motive behind preaching that humans are commodities, even though I strongly disagree that humans are 'commodities'.
A man or woman shouldn't settle for less because he or she is old or not financially okay. As long as your desire in a dream partner isn't a fairytale one...there must be someone for you.
If a man isn't rich, there is a young woman out there that will love him for who he is. There are other things he could work on, that will make him more desirable. Advising him to go marry an old woman, not because he loves her but because he thinks she is a cheap commodity and has limited or no choice, makes no sense! It is one of the reasons marriages fail! People are marrying for the wrong reasons! The Nigerian dream is different my lady. The truth is if you are ready to choose, you should be ready to pay. Choice my dear is luxury. It doesn't come cheap. There is nothing desirable in a poor guy. His talks becomes noise, his vision impaired and his life span shorter. But he has something to leverage on. The defects in humanity. So a little patience may get him an affordable bride. Think less of the motive, the goal is to get married. Married he has become! |

Acidosis: You're absolutely on point. As bad as it sounds, the younger ones have extremely high expectations.
However, whoever follows your idea will likely fall into the hands of a lady whose love belongs to another man. So the husband may end up being an alternative... You cannot be the best by being an alternative. As soon as the dream is achieved (Mrs. and kids), your own don done be dat, especially when you fall into the hands of a desperate rich one without ascertaining the level of love you both share.
Overall, it is not a bad idea as long as both love themselves so well. Whether father-in-law choose to sponsor the wedding or not is not a reason to desire a frustrated life. We are all alternatives. Beauty only favours the Courageous. You approached a lady today but she may have wished Paul approached her and not you. Perhaps Paul was shy; since you are courageous to do that, she may later come to love you. At some point you were an alternative... |

pocohantas: "...Women are like commodities, with time the price and value depreciates. Men too, only that the former depreciates astronomically. You can leverage on it. I know you think it sounds absurd but you ain't got so much choice buddy"
Something is definitely wrong with you. When you get married and have kids, give them this advice. Tell them they are commodities with poor shelf life. Don't teach them to value themselves first before seeking value from a partner.
No wonder we have people going into marriages for the wrong reasons, all in a bid to please society and not lose value. We are all commodities with a shelf life and a life span; believe it or not. What is the use of a ninety year old man to a hirer? As the day breaks we depreciate. Mentally, physically, emotionally and health-wise. I don't need to teach my kids anything!!! Even a daft person knows that they will definitely age and lose value someday... |

Only very few jobs pay well. And very few self employed guys make it big. The average salary range for most graduate is 45-85k!! With a sizeable figure earning below the stated amount. Truth be told, you still want to complete the normal life cycle of getting married and also give birth. Your income is on the low side, your age is ticking and your choice or standard for a wife is getting lean. Do not despair. It is expected. The dream of most normal men is to marry a young fresh lady. Who has got good morals, education yet submissive. I am sorry to tell you my dear you need to wake from the dream. It is a Nigerian dream hence void of reality. So are we not going to get married? Not at all, but there is one skill you must possess. Patience!!!, I tell you! You must be patient. Women are like commodities, with time the price and value depreciates. Men too, only that the former depreciates astronomically. You can leverage on it. I know you think it sounds absurd but you ain't got so much choice buddy. My aunt wedding was last week (yesterday) we were all very happy. Trust me the guy payed close to nothing. We even entertained most of the guest with our food. We were really happy for her!!! (market wey we don dey remove mind untop). At that age we didn't even think of a list . You may not get a Young fresh babe, but you will definitely get married if only you wait longer. Wait for the value to fall and do your thing quietly. No one may even ask "what do you do for a living" as long as you can barely feed yourself and you don't look like a criminal, everyone is fine. Finally, how do you get married on a low paying job? Ans: Patience; wait for the value to fall and you have it...she may look older but you ain't young yourself. Life begins at FORTY where the hell are you rushing to? |
