The strategy I normally used on my account officer is "TIP". I give him tip after every successful TB. With that, he is always willing to help.
So even if she (your acct officer) hesitates or becomes unfriendly but finally did it, find her something and she will become loyal.

Makes mad sense thanks for chiming in, will definitely grease her palm with something when I do the TBills.

Most times bank staff (account officers) will need you to have money on your account so that they can meet their target. So they will not want anything that will make the money move from there. What you will do is to visit another branch of your bank and request to meet the person in charge of Treasury Bill. Just be direct with your questions on what tenures and rates are available.

Also you will have to read well here and ask once in a while to know when primary market auction is to take place. Secondary market is always on.

Thanks for the input. I'm not in Nigeria, if I were i would have gone to the bank, do the TBills, and request another account officer before her very eyes. Waiting for her to help me get a new ATM card, before I tell her I'm insisting on TBills. If I tell her before she gets it, she may backpedal.

The account officers don’t get monetary interest on your deposits but no account officer in Nigerian banks will be happy if you move your funds because it reduces his/her ‘cabal’ and that may impact negatively on his/her performance evaluation.
God saves the branch manager whose branch deposit balance significantly drop during the so-called MPR.

Are you kidding me? Now I see why they do it. How can someone be so heartless to allow you get 1-4% interest on FD when you can get up to 13% from TBills? Just for their own selfish interest. For FBN, the person you met is either not well inform or want to hinder you from the TB.. The minimum you can invest in TB there is 100k too.

Be informed that there are more charges to mutual fund than TB. Also, the rate for TB once gotten is stable throughout the tenure of the investment but that of mutual fund fluctuate daily or weekly depending on the investment house.

I agree with you perfectly about the staffs at First bank's intentions of hindering him from investing.
My account's officer told me TBills is not a good investment, that fixed deposit is better. I couldn't believe the mail she sent me when I asked her opinion, I had to chat her up on what's app, she repeated the same thing.

Yesterday, we saw teenage girls that have made the roadsides and bushes their motel/ hotel in broad daylight. No matter how low a Nigerian prostitute is, she will make sure you at least use a motel even if it's one of those in the slums.

Nigerian women don't like to share men, if this guy was in Nigeria, one of those women would have made him her toy so he doesn't have to be shared by that crowd dancing up there.

In very many ways Nigerian women are far more decent please, don't compare us with these other African countries.
