south west is well urbanised bt only Lagos is developed, dats y no s/westner cn ever be proud of his/her state, all of dem waste dia telling oda regions to leave lagos 4 them. Ado - ekiti is 70% mud house. Ibadan is nt older dan kano or zaria, dia rusted roofs simply show dat d residents r broke. Enugu is far ahead of ibadan by any standard apart frm size and age. Öne gud thin abt SE is that you keep seeing beautiful mansions bt d bad tin sha is dat dey dnt cluster 2 form large cities as in d SW

Why are you people so STOOPID for goodness sake? First and foremost, I can tell you VERY CONFIDENTLY that EVERY Yoruba South Westerner is PROUD of their heritage, history and every aspect of their culture, race, etc. You being an ibo man got no clue at all about what you are pretending to speak about. Now, your second point is even far beyond STOOPID when you assert that a SW state is wasting time over Lagos! Are you so small and hare-brained that you don't know that states are created for administrative and government purposes? If the entire land mass of the SW were divided into 100 states for administrative purposes, EVERY last square cm will be defended to the death until ALL greedy soldiers (MOSTLY IBOS) are completely destroyed! Since you are too dense, I will give you and your lot some education:

During the ill-conceived Biafra War, Ojukwu had his sights on Lagos, a bonafide and 100% Yoruba land and heritage! He claimed to be fighting the northerners but a land grab charted the course of his army to Sokoto (the seat of the Caliphate) to pass through Lagos. What happened? At the borders of Ore, LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGG before he got anywhere near to Lagos, his ARMY was brutally crushed! Credit to the Nigerian Army from every other part of Nigeria but in that Army were soldiers from every Yoruba state, not counting Lagos and they defended it from the front until the last man of the aggressors were utterly destroyed! General of the Nigerian Army Benjamin Adekunle, Commander, 3 Marine Commando is from Ogbomosho, did you read the legends of the conquest of the biafran and ibo armies? How about General of the Nigerian Army, Olusegun Obasanjo from Owu in Ogun State, what did he do? He made sure that he paraded the left overs of the biafran rebellion as surrendered soldiers right before the world. Did he have to be from Lagos?

Oh, how about Premier of the Westerm Region, Aare Ona Kakanfo (The War General), Chief Obafemi Awolowo, from Ikenne in Ogun State? Do you know the stuff of legend Chief Awolowo orchestrated virtually plotting the strategies in concert with other military commanders so much so that ibos are still mad well over 40 years and possibly the next 4,000 years for the large scale defeat?? The Aare Ona Kakanfo is a title that goes back well over 700 years, to indicate for how long the Yorubas have been tactical and superior war machines. There are millions of people I possibly could never know who will defend every square cm of the Yoruba lands of their ancestors to the death until every invader is destroyed! By the same token, just as marauders were trying to enter through Ore, thousands of soldiers who are Lagosians were in the ranks of the armies who utterly smote biafra at Ore! The point is use your sense before you open your mouth to spew putrid nonsense!

Again to correct you, there is nothing of note in Enugu! I have been there myself! I lived in Iboland at a time. I am sure Ibadan are proud of those brown roofs which were already covering those houses before your grandfathers were found in iboland. This is the truth, and I am not being tribalistic but you leave me no choice than to tell you the naked truth if you can't figure it out. At the time they were building those houses, ibos lived in the naked forests, wearing no clothes or leaves tied around their waist to cover their private parts only. Up till today, them men still tie a wrapper around their waists like women. There is no question, every Yoruba in any part of South West Nigeria will more than happily be comforted that it doesn't matter whether he is 'officially' from Lagos or Ekiti, even when he is not there, his brothers as far as Ilorin or at the borders of Ondo State will defend their lands to the last man! This is something your people (ibos) have NEVER done since God created the earth! Think about it.

ketoprofen: lwkmd. @ CyberG, AM sure u dont want me to post Ibadan pix or do u? u really want me to display those almost dilapidated red zinc structures called houses in ibadan. u just opened a can of worms.
to avoid duplicity, click on the threads on enugu pix and ibadan pix or better still, google them.

how many private houses are even worth looking at in ibadan? do u know that those houses u put are not even common in ibadan.
been to ibadan -yes, lived there, never. unless, i wl stay in a hotel.
abeg, come to enugu let me flex u small

What can of worms? Do you expect Ibadan, a developed city-state way back in the 1800's to be compared with Enugu or anywhere in Ibadan just discovered in the 1900's? I live in a city in the West in which they started building it 500 years ago (you will not believe it except you see it!) Here, there are big new buildings but there are buildings so old, they do not have any central ventilation system, why? Some of them were constructed in the 1920s and I am talking about a 4-Floor building! Now, anyone who compares the older buildings here with the newer ones built in the 1980's and after MUST be insane! Are you insane? If not, you would understand what those brown roofs in Ibadan mean!

Secondly, do you know that the city passed a law NOT to demolish the old buildings? You know the solution they found? Well, architects now redesigned the houses and rebuilt them on the inside without destroying the old-outside architecture in order to PRESERVE THE HISTORY of the people! Now, will you compare that to a new condo development built in 2013? Use your brain except you've never left Nigeria in your life you will have no clue! Think - don't you know the shiny buildings of today will be old relics in another 100 years? Well, that was how developed city-states like Ibadan were a hundred years ago before iboland or anything called ibos existed! And FYI, do not compare the entire iboland to Oyo State for the size of that one state is just about that of the entire iboland like someone pointed out!

You see your ignorance is appalling! So you travelled through Ibadan and it means you've seen the entire state! I bet you have never seen all of Enugu after years of living there but that single State is bigger than anything you can imagine! Have you been to Oluyole, Bodija, Ashi, Bashorun, Jericho, UI, etc to see development that Enugu only started trying to copy in the last few years? Those places have been built with grade A tarred roads since before I was born! Don't be stoopi.d!

Do not sell your idea and work! Ignore the GraphicPlus or anyone attacking your work or person! In fact, killing an idea could be far more dangerous than killing a person - don't let anyone kill your idea. Also, you need to be honest for it appears your person is already being questioned that you are way older than 14! Do not dampen the enthusiasm of people who can help with LIES! Yes, some of us live the life of software and can be of help beyond giving a few thousand naira because ultimately you might need a lot of mentoring, advice and code reviews but with someone who is dishonest, their is no desire to even lift a finger! A lot of people who do things like that are really busy and do not have the time or desire to piss around!

ketoprofen: laugh wan kill me die

1) and who the hell is asking everybody where they are from? starting with me, am from Enugu state. Am sure u dont want to compare Ibadan to Enugu, the capital or have u got that liver? nonsense.

2) @ CyberG, What are u talking about Adenuga and Dangote? U sure know how to talk wetin u no fit defend.how many Nigerian shopping plazas in Lagos and especially Abuja are not owned by igbos? Abeokuta peeps on this thread has yabbed Ibadan too, so leave igbos out of this. Imagine your own ppl fighting which is beta btw ABK and Ibadan and to think d two wack places are even the most popular of yoruba regions is making me smh. Enugu get shoprite, anambra and abia are stl building theirs , who exactly is envious of ibadan shoprite, and let me tell u, the idea of a foreign shop is not even good for the nigerian economy, so bone that envy talk. Nonsense

3) even with the shoprite, insteading of using their car horns, ibadan men will keep using their mouths to shout at any body/car driver that is obstructing their path on the road.

1. Which Enugu? Is this not the same Enugu I have been to? FYI, I lived in Eastern Nigeria at some point, now have you ever lived in Ibadan for one day of your miserable life? While some parts of Enugu may be relatively developed today, Ibadan (Oyo State) has been developed from before independence! See for example the picture posted by Naptu below! But here is a picture of Enugu below:

2. If you had sense, you would have noticed my first comment about how Nigeria needs to have it's own store chains, owned and operated by Nigerians so you just copied my initial assertion and thought only to regurgitate it like a beast of no nation! So, your almighty Anambra and Abia are still on the doctor's surgical table to get a Shoprite but you castigate another state, Oyo, that is already ahead of the curve? Why does tribalism rob ibos of all sense? Of course, Shoprite is not an achievement but the point is that a private business investment is a measure of the investor confidence in an economy - state or national! Ibadan trumps everything Enugu has or will have, do you want to go to statistics? I bet not for I don't even have the time to debate emotionally unstable beings amost ibos are turning out to be on NL and in the real world!

3. Well, you are yet to leave the gulag you are in Enugu to get a clue what life is like in Ibadan and it is better not to indulge an animal to make it feel it's a bonafide human being! angry angry

The only thing that is BAD here is that I would prefer if this were a store chain owned by Nigerians doing business in Nigeria and in foreign countries! Foreign countries should not be allowed to make billions off our country! Dangote has tried! Adenuga has tried! They cannot do EVERYTHING! (Correction: Shoprite is owned by Americans - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShopRite_(United_States))

The people poking fun at Ibadan here are of course mostly ibos! Anything that adds progress to the Yoruba South West gives them diarrhea of the mouth and brain! N160.7bn ========> 4 LANES from Lagos to Ibadan, 2 LANES from Lagos to Ogun State!

Geomac:

That is a big lie. I think space contributes alot to it.

But you guys STILL have LOTS of UNINHABITED lands, true or false? I think the ibos just like and want an easy life with NO COMPETITION! So, they want more land and expansionism (think Hitlerism), they want biafra where, hopefully, there will be no competition from the South Westerner Yorubas who have taken and always taking the SHINE off all ibo braggadocio! Or from the Edos, Hausas, Binis, 259+ other tribes who expose the ibos as ordinary human beings that they really are! Iboland is not experiencing any heavenly development, most Nigerians can see that but they can hide that away in Biafra and lie to the world they have created gold-plated streets! They really want life handed to them on a platter but they did not hand over their 1970 biafra war loss on a platter, it was taken! The holy book says..."Right from the days of John the baptist, the Kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent take it by force"! But that is an eternal Kingdom, far superior to this one! If it takes the violent to take it by force, MORE SUPERIOR VIOLENT VIOLENCE is required to thrive here and this is what was used to take biafra. This world is for the competitive, most parts of Nigeria going places are not AFRAID of competition, FAILING and trying again, why is that only the ibos want to run away or be handed the spoils on a platter??

You people should be pounded like yam and fed to the sharks in the Atlantic! Which ibos? When some people were labouring hard, planting, weeding, putting fertilizer, dealing with poor harvest in a previous year but trying harder again, some people (ibos) sneered and laughed at them! They belittled their efforts. Even the single Okorocha has become the object of their hatred (not that I support him or think he is even ready for prime time). The ibos became the willing tools being the fronts for phoney parties to derail registration of the current party within which they now want to be given high positions! Azikiwe and Okpara made fun of Chief Awolowo's policy during the first republic but eventually tried to copy it in a hurry, and they failed completely!

Now that positions of responsibility are being allocated, guess who want's to be crowned king? The lazy gloating ibo man! Should mere whining be the yardstick for getting everything?
