bootlegaz:
We started from the bottom and became your landlord and employers. In three years we defended our sovereignty while your parents enjoyed our properties and federal handouts, after the war we came back buying back our properties and that of your ancestors. Thats a shame bruv.

I am liking this! Well, my parents own properties in 3 States of Nigeria, how many does your parents have? We rented some of our houses to ibos, so you see you are the loser here. Who will eject who? However, note that building a house on our lands does not mean you own the land because a land is essentially a lease, i.e. with C of Os. The Yoruba SW governors now more conscious of your natures will not grant any more C of Os to you people and where already granted will enforce its tenure, and when it expires that is it. Until Nigeria calls it a day, you can build any house on the land but while you remain in our lands, you will obey our laws, respect our customs and traditions, learn our language, eat our foods, etc and if you deviate or are not contributing, we will deport you back to Iboland! That is it!

No Igbo man is average. The Igbo that comes across as average is miles ahead the most excellent from your silly tribe. At the lowest level of stupidity, an igbo is still wiser than your very best.

Really? Can you then explain the whooping you got during the Biafra War? You were completely outclassed not only on the battlefield by the eggheads of Yoruba stock in far away Supreme Headquarters in the War Room. How about that? I schooled in one of the best schools in Nigeria and there was no Ibo that ever got a higher mark or GPA than myself or any Yoruba student! These were guys that were nailing 5 points steady in a real tough course! Well, if you are so smart like you deliriously think, apply it to develop your village, how hard is that for a "genius" like you? LMAO grin grin

Is it not same GDP that was manipulated by Chinese government and when confronted, they could not provide a tangible data....How many yorubas actually pay taxes or own businesses in Lagos? Who brings the income, is it NURTW or those touts that harrass people on the street?

The GDP is released by NBS, Google it! Anambra's IGR is lower than Ekiti, Google it! Ekiti is a great SW state but still upcoming to the level of Oyo State! Even Ogun State IGR is now around N 3 - N 4 B per month, find out! grin grin Yorubas pay taxes of course, more than anyone else because the concept of orderliness is almost second nature to us. Osuji confirmed that Ibos never developed to the point of being organized and ordered, so any attempt at orderliness, taxation, etc is a big problem as each family considers itself a government not answerable to anybody else. Look, I have no time for silly arguments, just leave our lands and go back to your villages simple! I am not being tribalistic but we are just tired of you!

Anyways, Lagos is not all that and the reason most of us go out there is to access Federal government own infrastructures like clearing containers and Utilizing the MMIA when going on vacation.

You don't get it do you? That you lost the war and the SW, North and Minority won the war did not mean you lost your land, stay in it or move back there! It doesn't matter how long you live in the SW, learn the language, eat our foods, etc you will still not be a Yoruba and have no permanent rights to our lands! This is the reality, you can face it now or wait until another 100 years, it will still be the same!

devour129: They should give us a seaport n international airport . We will forfeit our properties but just like the Phoenix we shall rise again. So now we can't live in any state we want ? Just give us these two things n we will do the rest. It's only ndi na eche Uche na otule bu ndi amaghi na ndi Igbo bu ndi Chineke e burigo enu. Too blessed to be cursed .

Who will "give you" a seaport and international airport? LWKMD! grin grin It's like asking for N 300 B gift, who will give you that kind of money or do you think we plant and grow money to be dashed around like that? Is it from the huge taxes paid by the SW or the oil revenue of the ND the will just give you N 300 B? You see you people are VERY funny indeed! Well, what seaport are you talking about for if you knew the map of Nigeria, there is no Ibo state with access to the sea (landlocked), so how much money would be required to bring the sea to your state? In any case, there is a "seaport" already at Anambra and Enugu International Airport (Alkanu Ibiam) with Ethiopian Airlines flying in and out, so what else do you want? I am sure no one needs your properties because even when they could have taken it in 1970, they let you have it, why will anyone need your property now? Now when the GDP of the SW is more than TWICE that of the SE? Meaning they are richer! They are maybe 5-10M more than the you in Nigeria alone with a lot much more in foreign countries! My advice is to for you to start a moving company that can move houses (if you watch Discovery Channel you would have seen it) so that your properties can be moved professionally. All we want is for you to leave and go and help Nigeria from your lands.

Is he going to teach his people how to fish with $44 M? LWKMD! grin grin grin And these are the kind of people we are forced to live in the same country with? I suggest you send the money to Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Osun at $ 11 M each! I bet they have pressing infrastructural projects, education programs that will appreciate it right away not glad handling the money to a foreign firm that will help you to catch fish inside water you lived by all your life or the now environmentally and oil polluted waters your governments have done nothing about!

Politics / Re: Will This Country Ever Change for the better? by CyberG: 4:47pm On Aug 08, 2013
Some people are developing their state and regions, some people are still crying "will this country change for the better"?? Stay there, okay? When you change your state and elect better leaders not like the PDP and APGA Adaobi, you will begin to know that change is not one massive wind that will blow "better" into Nigeria but "small, small", planned and well though out efforts applied within each state will eventually make a "better country". E.g. when all state governors are doing virtually better than a clueless president, it is almost certain that the next presidential election will only throw up better presidents who know that in order to sustain the improving country, he needs to free the state a little bit more, give them more latitude to make decisions and develop their states until they can almost individually export agricultural produce, manpower, electronics, services, while they earn significant revenue and taxes.

agbameta: I see industrialization moving away from Lagos to deep inside the SW because Lagos state is at it's MAX, the only room they have left is for tourism and finance and corporate administration.

No industrialization should not and will not move away from Lagos. Maybe you meant extending deeper into the Yoruba SW? A place cannot be industrialized enough for even developed countries keep developing and re-developing all over again, we see it everyday. I want Lagos to take it's tourism several notches higher and continually cement its place as the business, finance and business headquarters of the country (while it remains and ultimately the Yoruba City-State when Nigeria calls it a day!). I hope the Lekki Airport, FTZ and Eko Atlantic make quick progress too! grin grin
Politics / Re: Procter & Gamble To Build $250M Plant In Ogun State by CyberG: 3:25pm On Aug 08, 2013
I would like to see Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Lagos and Ondo developed like parts of the same body with each complementing each other, until the Region (City-State) is completely self-sustaining and self-reliant! We should have standardized healthcare and education among the states and this is important because with the aggressive enumeration, moving to any of the states requires you to be registered in order to access healthcare, education and public (government) services for yourself, wife and children! To be resident and qualify for healthcare, you will need to be in the state for 3 months at least, so that people do not just start moving to get free healthcare paid off the tax payers back! We should have at least one tertiary healthcare centre in each of the states, several secondary and smaller medical clinics. These alone will generate a lot of revenue from out of state patients who fly in and who are not resident but Nigerians from other states who have not organized their systems.

Education wise, there should be free and compulsory free education, aggressively implemented for Yoruba SW children, daily monitoring in which houses are checked and if any small child is found hiding, or doing menial work, they should be taken to school and such parents or guardians handed heavy fines and even prosecution for repeat offenders! At higher levels, their should be a differential fee structure for Yoruba students, residents and non-resident - non-Yoruba! The differential fees will help to further develop our schools systems and make it standardized! I can go on and on! grin grin

I would also like the Yoruba country-state to in the shortest period of time begin to organize our regions to emphasize certain areas as capitals, for higher specialization and core concentration of skills and capability! Lagos will remain our ever significant big business capital! The administrative capital for the region-state should be in Ibadan (Oyo State) as well as our military-industrial complex reminiscent of the ancient Oyo and Ibadan war history and heritage! High technology center (a la Silicon Valley, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, etc) should be cited at a convenient central location to be easily accessible by our major universities and people. I think the Lagos, Ogun, Oyo axis will be just great and away from the huge traffic of Lagos of course! Our oil city capital will do great in Ondo State with other refineries in Lagos of course since they are both coastal states with significant shoreline, huge oil transport pipelines can be used to connect the two with landing point in Ogun (also along the shoreline). In Oyo, Ekiti and Osun State, I would like our industrial farming centres to be created both plants and animals! Every Yorubas State has significant tourism potential and I would like each state to develop that capability for one day, it will be possible to have foreigners who are ever curious to know of our history to take a safari from Lagos to Ogun to Oyo to Osun to Ekiti to Ondo just to learn about us and our language! Such tourism organized in a standard way is pure foreign exchange with job opportunities for our older parents and college graduates all smartly dressed and ever ready to showcase our hospitality, vibrant culture and our new organized cities to the whole world!

I like to see Lagos maintain it's business, industrial, technology, transportation leadership while adding tourism on a massive scale! Again, people who are not natively from the State or Yorubaland who are constituting a nuisance be removed for goodness sake! The Yorubas from Lagos who are in other States even in the SW should be brought back, it is really a good thing because ultimately we are working towards the same goal, the money spent in taking care of them is money spent from our ultimate shared "pockets"! Of course, let the Yorubas in the states, even when poor or sick, be taken care of in the best way possible before being re-united back with their families. Non-Yorubas who contribute financially (taxes), work to sweep and clean our lands, contribute something even real hardwork can by all means stay for now only the state governments should be enumerating each of these people regularly and enacting the most comprehensive taxation system in our states so no one benefits without paying a fair share! The destitutes, lazy, criminals (a lot of them cause only problems and reduce the quality of our Yoruba country-state) should be removed and transported back to their States with due process! The lazy and irresponsible governments who play politics and do not show-up to carry their people should be pre-informed that such human cargo will be delivered to their lands at any convenient time of the 24 hour day so if they don't want them at 3 pm, they should be on sit by 9 am in the morning so they can receive them and take care of them!

I can't but say I am really impressed by the strides being made by the Yoruba South West of Nigeria. Hopefully, all Yorubas from the days of Chief Obafemi Awolowo would at some point impress it upon the governments (State and Federal) of the need for the mistaken re-arrangement of our lands by bad belly politics back to their God-ordained land - the Motherland! I only want to be reading positive news like this one oh peoples!

I have said it severally and I don't care to repeat / type it again of the kind of progress I would like for the Yoruba people! The DAWN document goes to exhaustive extents to articulate a very broad and impressive vision! I am confident that, except for reasons of empty pride and in order not to be seen to be copying just like they did in the days of Chief Awolowo, the ever jealous parts of Nigeria will co-opt the ideas! Make sure you cite appropriately giving credits to the original owners of the ideas - plagiarism is immoral, intellectual fraud and a crime!

I spend 6 months out of the year in 9 ja and if you could do it like this you would too. I make money here and invest it back home. So please let me know how many familes your sweat supports? By the way I was born in the USA and most of those in my shoes don't give a damn about Nigeria. They don't even get why I am bent on investing my money in a country where my own people don't give a damn, because of the same attitude you are displaying here. My parents don't even rep 9 ja like I do. So call me what you want because in the states they call me stupid for investing money to give people jobs in 9 ja.

I am sure all your good works were done not just for the country but for your "family". Hope you don't show up in Nigeria with your kind of name in the wrong parts of the country. Just a small advice! grin grin

jidsoon: A police officer caught on film soliciting for inducement by an unknown motorist has been dismissed by the Nigerian police force.

Deputy Force Public Relations Officer Mr Frank Mba who confirmed the dismissal of the officer, identified him as sergeant Christopher Okpal aeze.

He added that contrary to Mr Okpaleze’s claim to have accomplices, the phone call was found to be false to make the motorist part with his money.

Mr Mba added that the dismissal of Mr Okpalaeze is in line with the new Nigerian police zero tolerance for unethical and unprofessional conducts.

The police warn that it will not fail to weed out the bad eggs, while well behaved officers will be appropriately rewarded; it also urges Nigerians to like the motorist, join in the policing of policemen to help rid the force of corrupt officers.

Until his dismissal Mr Okpalaeze had served a total of twenty -one years in the Nigerian police force.

This people always think they are smarter than everyone else! Sgt. Okpala Eze is definitely the most hardworking policeman in Nigeria! After 21 years?? No surprises though!

Nairaland / General / Re: Petiton To Relieve The Politics Section Moderators Of Their Duties. by CyberG: 3:15pm On Aug 06, 2013
I read someone was "banned till 2056 and the moderator was boasting about it"! Whoever makes this kind of decision is really not going to help this business and Seun should know that, his QA team will catch things like this. Why is that a bad decision? Many but I will give a few. First, 1 of such is maybe nothing but several hundreds or thousands will save junk data about the user on your server, why waste money storing a user and his information which is of no use to the business? It is better to have the user delete that ID or he be informed the ID will be purged in XX days in case he wants to review his post. This is much a better approach. Also, IDs banned in unrealistic and emotion laden mindset like this will only be created with another one multiplying IDs that are duplications, swelling numbers artificially, leading to unreliable statistics, bad data for business are worthless in making accurate business decisions! Meanwhile NL says users not to create another ID if banned, is the mod who banned till 2056 being realistic about such not creating another ID? Assuming he did not, that is another potential customer who may create content that other users may want to read alienated. I could go on but this should be enough!
Nairaland / General / Re: Petiton To Relieve The Politics Section Moderators Of Their Duties. by CyberG: 3:05pm On Aug 06, 2013
What I will suggest to Nairaland and Seun is to look into creating of a QA / User Experience team for NL. This is good for the business side as well as the technical side of things. I know it is not as simple as creating a new position and filling it with people but ultimately it will raise the level of quality on this site, which is a business which is actually a product! More quality, more customers, more ads, more revenue!

An objective QA will consistently point-up which of his moderator resources are doing great and the ones that may need some help in becoming better. Not to be seen as significantly deviating from the thread topic though, I think OAM4J has done quite well.
