That’s just a stereotypical assumption. Crimes are classified as violent and none violent crimes. When you talk about crimes, some comes in unauthorized access to computer systems, obtaining under false pretenses, etc. So in terms of violent crimes, the victims always don’t have a choice and most lost their lives in the process. But in terms of later, victims always have a choice but because of ignorance, carelessness, or willful stupidity, most always fall victim even after all the awareness campaigns out there.
