No policy is 100% perfect so no matter how stupid you think the policy is, the most important thing is we have to start. Besides, the CBN policy is not bad, it’s only the dark soul of a typical black man, to sabotage every government policy for personal gains is affecting this policy. Why are the banks hoarding the new notes? I’m certain that with the currently task force going round bursting this dubious banks that are hoarding the notes, things will gradually normalize in the coming days.

And you think the western countries had it all good from the get go? You have to start from somewhere and then implement corrective measures as you progress. This same myopic thinking was the logic this idiots in power adopted in 2012 against removal of fuel subsidy and till, it’s still all talk and shout about fuel subsidy. No country has a total cashless economy but then, the amount of cash in circulation is so much thus, the CBN have to do everything they can to reduce the amount in circulation and the time is now, no more procrastination.

These things are very easy and simple to figure out but I’m not surprised, the countries leadership is simply daft and incompetent.

Nigerians are simply daft.. overlooking the real enemies and attacking the wrong target. If terrorists have the new notes in quantum, Emefiele is not the culprit but the commercial bank management and their political partners who are hoarding the notes supplied to them by the CBN and selling it to the highest bidder. It’s the job of the security agencies to track these saboteurs in the bank and they are simply not doing that. It all boils down to the incompetence of APC led federal government. So the enemy here is not the CBN governor, but the commercial bank management, their partners and the security agencies controlled by the FG who failed to do their job.

The problem is simply the banks and it’s top management that are hoarding the naira notes, they are ones that are sabotaging the efforts of the CBN and I wonder why the security agencies concerned are yet to reign in on these scrupulous banks? … It all boils down to incompetence and sabotage from the government by the government..

Good one, let them go and open account and key into cashless policy of the government. Less cash in circulation will surely bring down inflation.

People earning £40k in the UK are not considered poor, are you conflating it with just London? Even in London, assuming you don't have kids and family to provide for and depending on where you live, your commute and a whole bunch of other factors, it will be tight but it's definitely not 'poor' status

ordinary event waiter job in London pays average of 10 pounds/hr in London and this events usually last 5-7 hours. If you’re vetted and signed up on an event waiter recruitment platform, you will sign up for jobs there every day and this events are manyyyyy… Imagine if you’re not restricted to 20hrs/week as a student, calculate how much you will earn per week. Accommodation in London is from 500pounds/month upwards depending the type and location, transportation and food is cheap. Forget UK good, don’t listen to gossip. Mind you this is just some jobs you do to get by because you’re new, get necessary skills and certifications to land the main job depending on what you want to do. My friend in UK is earning £6k/month after tax as crane operator with 3 years experience.. There are many jobs like that and the more you get experience, the more better deals you get. Construction, IT, healthcare and other skilled jobs pays so well in UK here.

How is the CBN subsidizing foreign education? Are the exchange rate approved for education services not the official exchange rate?
