One of the problems of Nigeria, are the supposedly "educated elite" who are too quick to jump around trying to justify this perfidy! Most of them are as corrupt as the decisions of their boss they tend to justify and they are mostly looking for an opportunity to be called to "come and chop". I repeat, in America and in Europe, in advanced countries in Asia, people still use cash at the Toll Gates. If you dont have tags, you simply chose either the no-Change lane or the "pay with Change" lane. But these fools in Nigeria will just wake up one day and tell you if you dont hava a tag, you cant pass. Everything they do, must be by force and threat What these fools forget is that there might be "people on transit", say a foreigner just passing through the Toll, say once or a "to-fro" journey and is not in a position to acquire a tag (If you are travelling say from the UK to France, by road, you will pass through a number of Tolls in different countries. Such people use the cash lanes of a toll plaza. Imagine if each country says you cant pass, unless you have an E-tag! Imagine the chaos this will cause!!. One day sha, their Goat will fo to the market and will not return home. I see one of their hnagers-on here trying very hard to justify the stupidity of this effort by his Bourdillon master's company. This criminals LCC company of Tinubu has not done anything spectacular on the Lekki road since it started collecting money on it, yet it keeps increasing the toll fee regularly. Yet it was our Tax money that Tinubu loaned his compnay to build the toll gate, how greedy can some people be, ehn? I dont blame these criminals sha, l blame the docility of Nigerians, which is as a result of their selfishness. The day #RevolutionNow will start, they will need to arrest more than Sowore, they would have to arrest millions of Nigerians who are ready to die, because they are already dead, literally. And they themselves will not survive it, that is certain. |

sgtponzihater1:Rental value is dependent on location: Good location, Good rental value, like centre of town! Price of land is also dependent on location; Good location, Expensive price. Infact, in some place in Eti-Osa LGA, a plot of land goes for #35million (around Chevron, Lafiaji, e.t.c) and in other places it goes for as high as #70million (Banana Island Estate, if you will even get someone to sell to you!) In Ebute metta area, a Plot of land on Old Yaba Road, Herbert Macaulay, Muritala Mohammed road, goes for as high as #40million - #80million, depending on your actual location, whether it is a corner piece or has contigous plots that can be used by a bank, e.t.c Meanhwile, there are places not too far from there, like Shomolu, Iwaya, Abule oja, etc that still sell for #20million per plot and possibly lower, if it is "deep inside". But if l buy a Plot of land on Herbert macaulay Road for #40Million and you buy your own at Ikorodu for say #2Million and we both build identical flats on it. My own 2-Bedroom flat on H/Macaulay will rent out for no less than #800K/annum while your own will rent out at no more than #180K/annum. We will both get back what we invested, in probably the same number of years. So you see, it is a matter of garbage-in, garbage-out. raymondFirstborn:it all depends on the area. there are even some places in Ikorodu where you will beg tenant to come and live in your house so that it is not left empty otherwise it will be vandalised. Good rental value is only achievable in centre of towns. Ikorodu is a very big division of lagos, ifnot the biggest. |

That would be nice to see.` I am aware that one can calculate load for each appliance (VA in Kilowatts) and use that to calculate the thickness of wire required to carry the current equivalent to such load, within appreciable tolerance) but l just dont want to go into such details with the poster but rather gave a "general, rule of thumb" advice that will still work. |

Nero2424:I understand you but your worries are unfounded ..and l will explain. 10mm will conviniently do all those things you mentioned. I use all those things you mentioned, have a large family and because l also have an alternative source of Power, my electricity is always-on, 24/7. And my internal wiring is also 10mm. The key to the Power Scalability you are concerned about, is to wire your building such that heavy-duty equipments dont share the same line of wore. For example, l wont join the terminal/socket box of my Electric Boiling Kettle, Iron and Microwave (even though thi sone is used intermitently) or Electric Rice Cooker on the same line of wire. Each of these items will take their power on separate wire, directly from the Distribution Box (DB). This method also have the davantage that when their is a fault, only that particular item's socket is tripped on the DB. As long as you dont cut corners, (use original wires, do proper, direct wiring for heavy equipments and let an experienced professional do your wiring, get separate DB for each flat and run a direct (from Pole) 16mm Service Wire for each flat), 10MM wire is adequate for your internal wiring. |

Rol1:Buhari has proved to be the most clanish and nepotistic President this country has ever produced! if you like, charge me for Hate Speech, it is my own personal opinion, from my own observation and l am entitled to think and form my opinion based on my understanding of events, whether you like it or not or whether it massages your ego. I am of the OPINION that almost any road or project in theNorth is quickly finded and completed but those in the South are negelcted or starved of fund, under this Buhari Govt.....example, look at the East-West road, lagos- Ibadan Express, Port Harcourt - Owerri, Benin- Ore-Ijebu Ode Roads, all are still under construction since 2015! Look at Rails in the South, not a single one has been completed but those of the North has been completed in the first term of Buhari. Most Power projects, including the Dadinkowa project, Solar Power Projects, Agric projetcs, etc, are all completed but not one in the South. The list is endless. And again, Buhari is destroying the image of the APC through very bad Policies in this his second term, so that by the end of his tenure, the APC will be so hated by Nigerians that even if the South succeeded in fielding a Southerner as its Presodential candidate, that person and APC will lose the election and you can expect that the other party will field a Northerner, who will win. That way, Buhari is hoping to keep the Presidency in the North, through sheer manipulation. Not that he did not do anything good but he has done more harm to Nigeria, divided Nigerians along ethnic lines, more than anyone. All Federal Govt Agencies are not headed by Northerners, the military and other security agencies, same. he had wasted over $1Billion, more taken from Crude Oil production inthe South, to search for an elusive Crude Oil in the Chad Basin in the North. Complete waste of money, money that should have been used to build Hospitals (he and his wife jets abroad to treat themselves anyways) or equip Universities or construct roads in the South, instead of loading future administrations and Nigerians with more debt, most of which are looted. Never has Nigeria had such a nepotistic and clanish President as Buhari and never should we ever have another of his type otherwise, this fragile unity will be tested more than it can endure. 1 Like |

I fear your Electrician o. Seek a second quote from an experienced electrician and compare both. Buy original wires, direct from factory please. fake wire can start electrical fire due to overload or when there is a surge. |

Rotech has built his own reputation over time as well. I can only ask both of you to maintain your good reputation AT ALL COST. Nero2424:Both will work, though the 16mm looks like an over-kill. He would probably buy you a 10mm for the load and claim money for 16mm, if he knows you dont know anything about thickness of wires. The reason l said BOTH will work is that if you envisage that your load will be so heavy (five split A.C. Two Cookers, Water Heaters, Boiling Kettle..ALL WORKING SIMULTANEOUSLY), you might want to consider using a thick enough load wire of 16mm, to prevent overloading, possible melting of wire and other possible electrical problems....but l bet no one puts on all those heavy appliances at a go! 16mm wires are usually used for Service wire while 10mm is used for load wires, in residential buildings I hope you intend to source for your wires from REPUTABLE Suppliers, YOURSELF, otherwise, l just pity you.. Let the Contractor list all the wires he wants, BUY them yourself (again, l repeat, from a reputable supplier or direct from the company) and keep them somewhere safe (within your property, like a strong room) and then let him have the wires according to his daily needs, ensuring that you verify where he used the last quantity you gave him, before giving out the next batch. Otherwise, you will be buying a lot of wires that would disappear into thin air. You wont believe that l still have wires that can run a threebedroom flat as EXCESS LEFTOVER, from what l used in running my building, and l did three phase installations all through! These wires is what my contractor would have stolen, if not that l was not vigilant.... and YES, the Contractor is on this Nairaland Thread. We eventually fell-out because his plans just did not work. Please note: It is essential you buy original wires, direct from the producing companies like Coleman, etc. 2 Likes |

This article is NOT about the consduct of America in its war on terror, it is about the detention of Journalists, by Buhari's Govt, even against Court orders of that Govt! Just because Musa is a thief, does not justify mahmood also being a thief or just because some policemen steals, does not mean all Policemen are precluded from arresting thieves.....anyone who thinks otherwise needs their head examined. America is very well in order, to speak on behalf of abuse of Power by this Govt and its security agencies even moreso that the accused (Sowore),is a Presidential aspirant (political victimisation by Buhari), holds American citizenship and resides in America before now. As for the Surety issue, you are obviously ignorant fo the Law and how the Court system works. A little explanation to help you: - A Lawyer represents a Client in Court. - Judge hears a suit and determines the accused will be remanded in custody till next hearing date. - That same Lawyer applied for bail of his Client - If Court agrees to bail, Judge sets the conditions for Bail, which may include an amount, some person and some assets (property, etc). - Lawyer arainges on behalf of his Client, to meet the bail consitions, by supplying / providing the bail consitions, including surety by money, person and asset. - The same Lawyer presents all these Surety to the Judge who examines and verifies them. This Process is called "posting bail". (Verification involves the people standing bail signing the bail bond, with their identification particulars, land title, abnk statements, etc, in the PRESENCE of the Court REGISTRAR. If REGISTRAR satisfied, he approaches the Judge to confirm verification and Judge signs bail bond and grants bail, by PRONOUNCEMENT of same. Lawyer takes bail bond to the "custodial agency" (a Prison, or any detention facility) and on presentation, custodial agency RELEASES the accused to his Lawyer. No where in that process, does the Law require that the people standing surety must come and collect the accused ..IN PERSON. It can be observed that the Court verifies and knows the identity of whoever is standing surety for the accused as their particulars are with the court but the Court does not require them to PERSONALLY go and collect the Accused from Prison/detention. The DSS insisiting that the Sureties must PERSONALLY COME AND COLLLECT THE ACCUSED, even when the Lawyer of the accused is present, is an flagrant abuse of court process and an insult to our judicial system, inclusing the independence of the Judiciary, which seems to be under assault under this Buhari govt.. In the eys of the Law, it is the Lawyer of a Client that the court knows and speaks with (that is where the phrase "Solicitor/ Soliciting" comes from), because the Lawyer acts and speaks, on behalf of his Client. not the Sureties, unless there is an abscondment of the accused If the Client goes AWOL (just as an example), the Court will ask the Lawyer to produce the Sureties in court. The Judge is now the one who will ask the Sureties to either produce the Judge of forfiet whatever has been used to stand as Bail, for the accused, while the accused is declared wanted and a warrant of arrest issued for his arrest. That is how it works, DSS should stop their "Buhari-induced" abuse of Power, it is bad for Democracy. Majority of Nigerians wallow in ignorance and the way they even argue and boast in their ignorance, is cause for worry. I wont make any pronounciation of the liability or otherwise, of Sowore on the accusations of treason, just because he used the hashtag #RevolutionNow..... that matter is sub-judice already. But Jonathan failed to develop the South, for a good six years he was in Power, HOW DO YOU WANT THE SOUTH WESTTO RE-ELECT SUCH PERSON, NOT TO MENTION THATUNDER HIM, EVERYBODY WAS JUST RUNNING RIOT WITH LOOTING! Yiibos are the main problem of this country, they are political naive, generally unintelligent and are full of hatred and anger for all other tribes and as such, their decision-making is so poor and retrogressive.
