If women are allowed to get a divorce that grants then financial security say due to domestic violence, why cant a man be accorded the same benefit?
Why should a man continue to harbor a wife that sleeps with his neighbor just because he is afraid of losing his house to her?
Are these not some of the reasons that make terminating the other party, a more viable option?
This sort of Kangaroo Judiciary has been described as one of the problems of humanity when in actual fact, they should have been the solution!

Marriage is not a bondage for a wife or a husband, divorce should offer no incentive or punishment to either party.

When my dad was building his house, it was my mum that took charge of the home expenses including our school fees (apart from contributing a third of what was used to buy the land). Signs PRENUP before marriage or a POSTNUP agreement after marriage, to clearly define how property is to be shared when marriage fails, as it is very likely to fail. That agreement will invalidate any funny law as it is signed between two consenting adults.

You can't stay in party A and be undermining the same party while working for party B. That is treacherous and not good for our democracy.
If we the voters suffer to cast our vote, say for APGA in Anambra, for the party nominee, Mr. X, because we believe in our party, after using our votes to become Governor of Anambra, Mr. X now decamp to APC, so we now have APC Govt in power in Anambra, when what we voted for was APGA, have we not been defrauded?

Best thing is for Mr. X to vacate that office, be relieved of that ticket and allow APGA to field another candidate or allow fresh election into that office.

We are sliding into a situation where Governors are beginning to undermine our democracy and act like tin-god's.
If we don't check it now, a time will come when some Governors will come together and become INEC, deciding who they want as President (and who must do their bidding at all cost), Senators, Reps, etc.

The Independent National Electoral Commisslon (INEC) says members of its staff were abducted and raped during Saturday’s elections.

In a statement on Friday, Festus Okoye, INEC commissioner for information and voter education, said while the elections were generally peaceful, there was “high level of violence” in a few places in addition to “the subjugation of some of our electoral officials to threats, harassment, intimidation, assault, abduction and even rape.”

“The Commission condoles with the families of its ad-hoc staff who lost their lives while on this national assignment, as well as other Nigerians who died in the course of the elections,” he said.

“It also expresses its deep regrets and sympathy for all victims of this mindless violence. We stand with them in these difficult times.”

He also said the conduct of some security agencies in the elections is a matter of “serious concern”.

“While acknowledging their professionalism n the deployment of election personnel and materials in a safe and timely manner, the conduct of certain members of the security agencies in some states is a matter of serious concern to the Commission,” he said.

“This matter will be further discussed directly with the Inspector-General of Police within the ambit of the lnter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

It was the then military head of state General Olusegun Obasanjo who failed to abolish the military constitution he inherited from Late Major General Ironsi when he was handing over to President Shehu Shagari. General Obasanjo left it vague and ambiguous knowing fully well that successive civilian administration will find it difficult to get the constitution amended to a true federal states where there is resource control, fiscal federalism etc

The fallout or the drawbacks of this unitary constitution being operated by successive political leadership in Nigeria is that it imposes so much powers at the federal centre leaving less powers for the states and local government.

Most states in Nigeria that want to move at supersonic speeds in terms of development in Nigeria are being tied down by the federal centre in Abuja.

Some states with the capacity to manage their own state police are being restricted by federal laws eg Lagos state, Rivers state, Delta state, Akwa Ibom

I think the young generation of leaders from the south will not accept this unitary constitution in the few years to come.

I agree with you that 1999 constitution is a sham. Intact, it is a document put together by rogues, for government by rogues, to the benefit of rogues.
Every line of that constitution is riddled with "escape clauses" for all types of crimes and criminals!
We had a "constitutional conference" to amend it but it was never implemented because the ruling elite, the looters, love the current constitution.

Where does all these leave the common man?
Southern Nigeria won't ever work together to upstage the North because they see "Nigeria" differently.
East want out because it has its eyes on the same crude oil in the Niger delta.... if left to the core Biafra states, they would have gone (and be allowed to go), a long time ago! But they won't go unless they can go along with the crude oil in states like Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa ibom & Rivers.
So they pretend that someone is stopping them from going and every other region knows this.

The Yorubas still feel unsafe about going to war over seceding. They think they can wriggle a deal for themselves but they are still okay with a "constitutional restructuring" as against the IPOB , all out war mentality.
They won't support any move by Ipob to cause anarchy as a means to secession. Both tribes don't trust each other, remembering that Ojukwu was bombing Yorubaland (Benin, Oore, Ijebu Ode and even Lagos) when the Hausas fighting him are to the North of its position and no where near Yorubaland. They see ibis as greedy and aggressive people you can't trust but despite that, they still accommodate them in their midst.
Ibis see Yorubas as untrustworthy and backstabbing because they did not support their Biafra misadventure.
Yorubas will tell you Ojukwu unilaterally declared war in a situation when it will be suicidal for Yorubas to go to war (all their garrisons were populated and commanded by Northern soldiers. Self preservation is the first law of survival.
That bile has never subsided till today.

So, both won't agree on the North, despite that being the logical thing to do.
Unless o e swallows it's pride and hatred, to extend a hand of fellowship to the others, the status quo will remain.
Northerners know this and will do everything to prevent such hand of fellowship between the Southern tribes.
