. . .Accept it or not, Nigeria has
more male gold diggers than
female gold diggers(at least we
don't see Nigerian women
marrying old, frail men twice
their ages)
just like caroline ekanem married the fvcking danjuma who was thrice her age then.

Doncolio: Take a deep breath, then follow this few steps.
Take time off work, then prepare a vacation of two(2) days exclusive for you and her. Make sure the place is a place she wuld have loved to be. Take along with you things that could bring back the memories of the past when you were courting or when the marriage was sweet. After the fun of the day, try open a table for discussion and speak ur mind. Try understand if are response are selfish meaning she doesn't care about you- meaning the marriage has hit d rock(then inform her to go have a rethink of ur marriage) or concerened and scared she might loose you, then u'll have to reassure her. But u know her best so act accordingly and man up. Also have at the back of ur mind that women like to have their way and can be capable of even what you don't know.

#WishUluck
nonsense. Well that's for those who see marriage as a life committment. Marriage should be treated as a social contract.

Enoquin: undecided
I don't see why the thread should have degenerated to Akwa Ibom vs Lagos, Akwa Ibom vs Rivers, Akwa Ibom vs South Eastern States, Akpabio vs Fashola, Akpabio vs Attah etc

The states of road in Uyo are very good...the aesthetics abi na beautification beautiful too especially at night. There's this feeling whenever I come in from Calabar and I am approaching Itam junction...the streetlights combined with the faucet-coloured water flowing fountains are enough to make me glad I am back to Uyo...at those times, it doesn't occur to me to praise Attah, Akpabio or compare....that being said, Lagos should not and cannot be compared to Uyo...whoever does so errs. I am of the opinion that roads and aesthetics alone do not make up a city, town; the people in it do. Lagos is miles ahead and not only due to its infrastructures but due to its people too. It's one thing to build infrastructures...it's another thing to have people who appreciate and know the right use of the infrastructures.

The average Akwa Ibom man is not innovatively inclined...well except for the very few who just came in and got exposure from living in other cities.

I remember when okadas were to be banned years back. That day I was stuck with some Akwa Ibom okada men in a shelter because it was raining and Oron road was flooded. These men laughed at the few 'kekes' that were plying the road and navigating the flood. They said nothing would make them drive 'kekes'. Fast forward to the ban and then commuters suffering because very few 'kekes' plyed the roads and charged exhorbitantly till the Igbos from Abia and other neighbouring states came in. The Igbos took over the 'keke' business bringing normalcy to transport fares again before some Akwa Ibom men decided to venture into the 'keke' business either on hire purchase or to drive...now the city is clogged with 'kekes'. Same with the supermarkets...only very few supermarkets which can be counted on the tip of my fingers belong to Akwa Ibom men...they'd rather look for tiny contracts, stuff their pockets and build houses rather than businesses.
Anyways, Akwa Ibom is gradually awakening...people who have come back arer bringing with them ideas to upgrade the mentality of the people.

Good roads are good even if they lead to nowhere but an economically fit and commercial driving people will be better. So, if factories and more job avenues are created, Akwa Ibom can then beat its chest at also helping to make Nigeria better.
Akwa Ibom people will never stop daydreaming, like the average Niger Deltan(except Edo indigenes), they are just too lazy. They believe one can only make it if offered a job in a petroleum outfit, bank or political rallies. Imagine one idiat telling me he's looking for a business that will fetch him 100% net profit one month after take off. They have a very stupeed attitude towards money. I, alongside 2 of my classmates, was arguing with some Uyo dudes when one of my guys asked "what if your state(na Igbo guy) starts enjoying power supply 247 courtesy of Akpabio?" and the guy replied "wetin I wan do with light. I dey find job you dey tiok(talk) light . . . The only thing this guy is good at doing is to shout "for life" when a Man. U. fan scream "juu-nai-taeee(united)??!!!". I asked the other one what he will do with #20million and the guy replied me almost immediately- "I ko yus kari diat money ko buy tiu rensh rofa spiort yeep come dey fleix tiaun. . .(i go just carry that money go buy range rover sport jeep come dey flex town. . .)". This is someone who can't do without asking for salt, toothpaste, matches . . . Daily.

Back to topic, Akwa Ibom is developing but comparing Akpabio to Fashola is like comparing Olivier Giroud to Usain Bolt with respect to a 100m dash. You are doing the latter a great disservice by rating him side by side with Akpabio.

dtc2k: Can anyone please tell us the crime rate in Akwa Ibom and UYO in general? Also what is the actual buying power of the people in terms of business? What type of business are the people engaged in and what type of business could strive well if established in Uyo?

thanks and looking forward to good response. The town seems really peaceful and nice.
the crime rate here in Uyo is close to zero. Uyo is a virgin land as there are virtually no competition around here due to the fact that the youths here are generally lazy. I wish you well. . . Erm, don't forget me oh.

Symphony007: fool! Port harcourt only has aba road? Maybe that's where the bus you enter always pass, because if you had a car, you'll see the new airport road, peter odili road, stadium road, eneka/igurwuta road, how many flyover does uyo have? Go check out all port harcourts fly over! Port harcourt is a large triving city with a population second to lagos, so traffic is bound to happen dispite the good road networks. Not uyo were you build roads and only bike, chickens and goats ply it. And you did'nt mention the educational and healthcare sectors, guess you knew there was no arguement there and you choose to shut up!
is it just me or . . . WTF! Not even Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, . . . WTF again?

djustice: Just like the man said, make an effort to get off your fat azz and go there to see for yourself. Development is evenly distributed, unlike Lagos where it's just some parts of Suru-Lere, some parts of the Island and some parts of Ikeja that come anywhere near what we see throughout Akwa Ibom..

Guess what, when they wanted to invest in power, they built a massive 191mw turbine, and now they have 24 hours light in Uyo, unlike the 10mw rubbish on Marina and at Iju that Tinubu's houseboy, Fash-ole is claiming through PPP.

Stop bellyaching and appreciate what is good when you see it. Mumu.
bros, shey na the same Uyo I don live for 9years? Well no need comparing Fash to Akpabio. I grew up in Lag till I relocated to Uyo in 2004, came back to Lag last year unto IT things and believe me, Fashola is god to Akpabio. Akpabio will bow before Fash. I rest my case(btw, I'm from Akwa Ibom)

EducationI Was Defrauded By TOTAL Scholarship Scheme. by dabrake(op): 11:15am On Apr 02, 2013
Hi nairalanders, I will, to my very best, summarize this.
Sometime in 2010, I registered my interest to partake in the TOTAL 2010/2011 NNPC/TEPNG HOST COMMUNITIES UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION TEST as a 200L student. After the stress of registering online, it was finally successful. On the day of the test, I discovered my particulars (my state of origin, department and gender) in the master list were changed and I immediately registered my complaint there but I was told it was a database error and that it would be corrected immediately. I wrote the test and my name was shortlisted as part of the successful awardees but my changed particulars was left unattended to. I was privileged to obtain Oluchi’s(the woman in charge of payment) number so there and then, I called her, told her about everything that happened, we booked an appointment for the next day, I left Uyo for Port-Harcourt(of course, she was aware my school was still in session and I was in Uyo as at then but still told me to grace her office) that evening, got to the office the next day and was there from 8am till 5pm but was left unattended to throughout that day. She even went as far as hurling abusive words on me, complaining that I was disturbing her. All my effort(s) to receive my grant proved abortive. I finally decided not to go further as, at a point, I thought I had lost all documents pertaining this matter.
Fast forward to 2013(500L), my department was scheduled for final year screening on the 15th of last month so as I was trying to arrange my documents ahead of the scheduled date, I stumbled on most (if not all) of the documents pertaining that scholarship program.
Deep inside me, I feel cheated (especially considering the stress I’ve been made to pass through) and I’ve decided to take up the issue once again. I met with my dean of student affairs, my faculty (NAS) and that of Business Administration, my HOD, the HOD of accounting (my Major was changed from Math/Stats/Computer Science to accounting), some lawyers and they’ve instructed me on what to do. I also have it from a reliable source that people do it order siphon people’s grants toward theirs.
Knowing fully well that 100 good heads are better than one, I sincerely seek your advice with respect to this issue (let’s assume I know not what to do). I can stomach insults. I remain grateful in advance.
*sorry for the grammatical genocides*
