I love Amaechi but his reason is not convincing enough. Except he has other reasons that he has not mentioned. Nigeria needs more universities than the available ones. that was why Obasanjo allowed the proliferations of private universities under his regime which has cascaded to other regimes.

If his only reason is because Zaria has a similar institution to be upgraded to a university status, then to me, that is not convincing enough. We can have more than one of such school in Nigeria. Besides, it looks more related to Niger-Delta area considering the topography, than for the north.

This is my opinion.

Leaders make decisions based on what's on ground , Even if there's not enough reasons , one reason that's good enough is that Tompolo and his boys already made a nuisance out of it
