Annie Idibia is quite is a sorrowful mood as she lost her father to cancer in the early hours of today. The actress who announced that her father is dead, revealed that he fought so hard. 

Annie Idibia first talked about her father this year, when she revealed she doesn't want to be known just as Tuface's wife. Recounting the time she spent with her father, she said; “This year started for me quite tough. I spent the first three months of this year in the hospital with my father because he had been sick for a while but God has been great and I am grateful. I am actually closer to my mother than my father because she raised us single-handedly. My father is still my father and since he was sick we had to rally round him."

Tonto Dikeh who before now disclosed that she hopes to make money with her claims against her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, has thanked her fans as her video became the No. 9 trending YouTube video. 

Recall that in the video released on her YouTube channel, Tonto spoke on Churchill’s diabolical ways, his dealings with internet fraud, his family and how Nigeria’s former president, Obasanjo, is not his father like he claimed. Tonto explained that Chruchill is into cyber fraud popularly called Yahoo Yahoo. According to her, she found out when she caught him in the middle of red candles with a red cloth tied to his waist with a laptop in his lap.

The organizers of the Big Brother Naija Reality Show, BBNaija has finally revealed when the 2019 edition will start. Recall that after the previous season of Big Brother Naija show tagged ‘Double Wahala’ ended in 2018, fans have been anticipating the return of this year’s edition. However after months of suspense, the organizers of BBNaija revealed that the show will start off in June. 

This came after organizers of Big Brother Naija, teased the audience with a possible theme for the fourth edition, ‘Forget Wahala.’  This teaser was subtly dropped on the reality TV show’s dedicated Twitter account on Friday, May 3, 2019. The first edition was tagged Big Brother Nigeria. The second edition has the theme, ‘See Gobe,’ while the third edition was tagged ‘Double Wahala.’ The perceived theme of the fourth edition, ‘Forget Wahala’ might not be far fetched considering the fact that the ex-housemates of the ‘Double Wahala’ edition are yet to unite one year after appearing on the show.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria has stated that no marriage is perfect, as it warned Tonto Dikeh over her marriage debacle which took a different twist on social media in the past few days. Prince Ifeanyi Dike, Chairman Actors Guild of Nigeria Board of Trustees who warned Tonto Dikeh on behalf of the group, stated that no marriage is perfect and her recent action is why men are scared of marrying actresses. Speaking to newstimesafrica, he said; 

“Tonto Dike is exhibiting bad behavior that we will no longer condone. What she should realize is that every marriage has its own issue."No one marriage is perfect. Issues like that are private. It is very unbecoming of her to portray us in bad light. There are so many actors who have issues with their marriages without getting the public involved. 

"Her actions does not speak well of the industry. We are not interested in her private matters; rather we are concerned about her attitude which is rubbing off negatively on other actresses. Actions like this portray the industry as having unserious ladies. That is why men are scared of marrying actresses. Thank God that we have good examples in the industry. If she is looking for sensation, she should look for something else to use.  Honestly the Board of Trustee is not happy with her and if she continues this way we will sanction her. We do not encourage bad behavior.”

The ladies who were convicted for prostitution in Abuja, have disclosed that the policemen attached to the Utako and Gwarimpa police stations in Abuja raped and physically assaulted them in custody.The seven ladies who were convicted by a mobile court for prostitution, further disclosed that the police compelled them to plead guilty when they were arraigned before the court on Monday. Pleading anonymity, the ladies told Punch's corespondent that they were arrested at a night club and a hotel by the policemen who threw them into a cell and repeatedly tear-gassed them.

One of the ladies recounted being hit with a baton and also flogged with a horse whip several times, by a policeman attached to the Utako Police station who was simply identified as ‘Yellow'. The ladies corroborated the claim, as one further disclosed that the policemen attached to the FCT ministerial task allegedly raped her when she could not pay them. One of the ladies who was convicted for rape who disclosed that they were raped and beaten by the policemen said,

“Three of us were brought out of the van and raped by the policemen because we had no money to give them. We were raped behind the National War College, Abuja. They pushed me to the ground and held me there while one of them raped me. He didn’t wear a condom. The other girls were also raped by two others one of who used a pure water sachet as condom.”

The custody between Globacom boss, Mike Adenuga's son, Eniola and his former lover, Damilola Ogun, has taken a different twist as the judge has been accused of bias. In a petition to the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, a non-governmental organisation, Legal Defence and Assistance Project, who accused Justice Oyekan Abdullahi of the Lagos State High Court of bias,  alleged that on August 6, 2018, a magistrate, T.A. Elias, of the Magistrate’s Court of Lagos State, delivered a judgement giving custody of Athena, the daughter of the two estranged lovers, to Damilola.

While it was learnt that no appeal was filed by the applicant challenging the judgement of the magistrate’s court, however the  legal officer of LEDAP, Adaeze Nkonkelonye, in the petition said Abdullahi granted an order in which she relied on a “fraudulent agreement” signed and presented by only the applicant’s counsel which gave custody to the applicant (Eniola) despite the existing judgement. She claimed that it was discovered that there was no court proceeding on the date, alleging that the court order was made in the absence of both counsel and parties during a court vacation.

“Despite the pending applications, Justice Oyekan Abdullahi made an order on April 3, 2019, for the search and rescue of Miss Athena Adenuga, depriving our client the benefit of the pending judgement of the magistrate’s court. We further filed an appeal against the said order. However, the court has ignored the said appeal and pending applications and further ordered the illegal arrest and detention of our client,” the petition added.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said the case was being handled by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. He confirmed Damilola’s arrest. “I am aware that there was a court order to arrest the person  (Damilola). When a court asks that a person be arrested and the police carry out the order, it is no longer a police matter. It is the court that keeps the person until the matter is determined,” he said.

Two government workers identified as Salisu Sabiu and Ibrahim Yola, have been arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons after they raped a 13-year-old girl in the Dutse area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.The Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports staff who lived on same street with the victim, were apprehended by operatives of the anti-trafficking agency after a tip-off by a resident. The two government workers, 55-year-old Sabiu and Yola, 51 who admitted they raped the 13-year-old girl, will be prosecuted under the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015.

The NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Stella Nezan, in a release, said, “NAPTIP operatives arrested both workers of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, Abuja, for raping a 13-year-old girl.

“The suspects, who live in the same neighbourhood with the victim, were arrested following a tip-off by a well-meaning Nigerian who learnt of the dastardly act being committed by the men against the underage girl. Following their confession and admission of the offence, the suspects will be charged to court and prosecuted.”
