Renowned Evangelist, Immaculate Ezenwoye Takes Succour To Correctional Service Inmates In Lagos
In further making a reality what she preaches, a respected woman of God and minister of the gospel, Evangelist Immaculate Ezenwoye has taken succour to inmates of Nigeria Correctional Service in Badagry Lagos State Nigeria.
This is an effort to give them a sense of love as members of the society and in practicing that which she preaches to her flock to do.
The reverend woman of God during her visit distributed food items and other relief materials and a cash token to the joy and excitement of the inmates who could not withhold their gratitude.
They thanked her and prayed for God's endless blessings upon her.
This is not the first time she is engaging in such humanitarian campaign. She makes it a regular routine to visit orphanage homes, hospitals, old people's home and the vulnerable persons not only to share the gospel of Christ with them but to also share love with them.
This she has over the years accomplished in Anambra and across cities in the South west region of the country.
She had been praised for sustaining the legacies of her late husband Chief Benson Ezenwoye who was known for carrying out massive philanthropic outreaches with his calm personality among the less privileged members of his community and beyond.
Evangelist (Mrs) Ezenwoye who recently returned from UK where she was hosted by one of her daughters, Eze Chinazo Peace stands as a perfect example of a virtuous woman who despite the passage of her husband ensured that her children never missed out in receiving fatherly love.
In offering her children the needed security, she started by completing a structure which her late husband started before he passed on, in order to ensure that her children have a decent shelter.
Her children are a perfect reflection of her virtuousness as she raised them in fear and admonition of the Lord.
Little wonder they are all doing well in their various life endeavours in their chosen career, with her last daughter Amarachi expected to graduate from a UK university in coming months.
A woman who embodies peace, love and kindness, she has had reasons to mediate and bring peace in some seemingly knotty situations in her social cycle.
Graciously blessed with a natural look of beauty, her heart of gold makes her an outstanding Christian woman, mother, teacher and preacher.
Little wonder her children have pronounced her blessed. In describing her in a social media post, Eze Chinazo Peace who recently played host to her wrote:
"My Queen Mother, Ada Uga, The bravest of them all.., My prayer warrior, Nne m oma!, My twinny My mother".
Another of her fine seeds, Mrs. Esther Nwankwo has also described her a pillar of pride, inspiration and positive energy. She said, she couldn't have dreamt of a better mother.
His lovely first son, Daniel who has stood as the father figure again is a perfect definition of what his late father represents.
His other siblings have found a shoulder to lean on in him, owing to how his mother has groomed him to become a man in all its ramifications and father to his younger ones.
As Evangelist (Mrs) Ezenwoye continues to serve humanity, it is our prayer that God will strengthen her for more collation of milestones in His vineyard.
An International Non-governmental Organization, the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation has commended the Nigerian 9th National Assembly for passing into law the Bill seeking to mandate authorities of Secondary Schools and Colleges of Education across Nigeria to include lessons on how to prevent Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in their curriculum for students.
The Bill, titled, “Mandatory Inclusion of Preventive Measures on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence into the Curriculum of all levels of Secondary Schools in Nigeria Bill, 2023”, was one of the two legislated bills initiated by the OCI Foundation in 2022. The other Bill, which has also passed both chambers of the NASS and is awaiting Presidential assent, aims to integrate anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the regular teachings of all Nigerian Senior Secondary Schools and Colleges of Education.
The SGBV Bill was passed at the plenary presided over by Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
Reacting to the development, the President of the OCI Foundation, the Australian-based Prof. Chris Ifediora, expressed gratitude to the Ninth National Assembly, for this piece of legislation, which he described as a landmark achievement for Nigeria, noting that it is a major breakthrough in the efforts to curtail sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) which has had damaging impacts on Nigerian youths, particularly the female folk.
"The OCI Foundation is grateful to the Ninth National Assembly, to the Senate, to the House of Representatives, particularly the Bill’s Sponsor, Hon. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere, who took on this Bill and went all the way with it. He thanked him for believing in the dream of the OCI Foundation to get this done.
"We are also grateful to Barr. Vivian Obinwa, who is the OCI Foundation’s Legal Research Assistant and Liaison Officer to the Nigerian National Assembly. She conceived this idea and doggedly sold it to the OCI Foundation, which we took on under the Public and Social Welfare arm of the Foundation’s activities. This is the final product, and we are very grateful for it", he stated.
While stating that the Foundation is looking forward to Presidential assent to make this Bill a law, Prof. Ifediora expressed hope that it will go a long way in saving, especially young ladies from mental trauma.
According to Prof. Ifediora, the recent arrest of a Nigerian, Cyril Kenneth, upon his arrival in the United Kingdom for allegedly attempting to sexually harass minors, is a product of awareness among the victims who reported to law enforcement agencies.
"In Nigeria, many of sexual abuse victims do not know what their rights are, or how to protect it. Because of that, a lot of abusers go unpunished. This Bill will empower Nigerians from early ages to know what the limits are, when people try to abuse them", he noted.
He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to sign the Bill into law in the overall interest of all Nigerians, pledging that the Foundation stands ready to support the relevant government institutions in implementing the law.
It should be noted that the OCI Foundation, in collaboration with the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), the Future Assured Foundation of the immediate past First Lady (Aisha Buhari), and the Nigerian First Ladies Against Caner (FLAC), is well known for promoting the “Arm Our Youths Anti-cancer Health Campaign” across all the 37 NYSC orientation camps in Nigeria.
