cjrane:When more Igbos become aware of what motivates the unique hatred of the Igbo by other Nigerians: anti-Semitism, the Igbos would begin to acquire the skills with which to cope. This hatred is blind, unreasoning. Usually its unprovoked. Its a sort of mental illness too.Hitler was anti-Semitic. The genocidaires who tried to kill off all the Igbos were anti-Semites. Ndi Igbo cry, but not to the holy G-d of our ancestors-the G-d of Israel. The Igbos were forced and tricked to abandon Chukwu. But happily some have come back to the true way---Prophet Isaiah. These few that have began to repent have a duty to put the others through and right. The greatest gift that you can give an Igbo is a Torah, with commentaries, and the now available books that definitively prove that the Ibos are Ibri...... 1 Like |

G.T Basden's description of the igbo traditional attitude towards poor relatives is perfect. In his own words "family law and tradition of the igbos demands that help must be given to a brother or sister in distress regardless of the origin of the trouble, whether domestic, financial,or otherwise. What comes to ones mind observes the traditional igbo system in Deuteronomy 15 vs7 which prescribes "if there is among you a needy man,one of thy brethren, within any of thy gates in the land which thy lord thy God given thee, thy shall not harden thy heart nor shut thy hand from needy brother and thy shall surely open thy hand unto him and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need in that which he wanteth. Directly paralleling in biblical prescription is the igbo attitude to needy relatives as can be gleaned from chinua achebe (Things fall apart)sold around the world. 1 Like |

OdenigboAroli:The igbo clans though autonomously administered,co-operated in certain religious affairs. This is seen from a story that connected to the ofo.The igbo clan called Nri believes that by traditions they are the holder of the ofo of the igbo people. Some igbos that are not from Nri agree that this claim is true. The Nri priest preformed important spiritual and religious functions for the igbos, like purification of the land when major abomination are committed.A research shows them as being very close to igbos as levites are to Israelite. 1 Like |

Ndi Igbo were already in existence well before Zik was born....A pity that Achebe was very young when he wrote the Things Fall Apart and thus he did not fully understand the problem that he certainly perceived. Also he did not set the book as history but as literature thus reducing its importance to the Igbos. Achebe noticed that we were ready to abandon what had worked for us for thousands of years and follow what the whiteman brought. ...I doubt if we are still in doubt that the whiteman's way did not work for us. .....Its this tendency to drop/abandon and follow or copy that is the problem. If Zik was guilty of anything it was that he did not start a struggle to draw the Igbo person back to the Igbo way of life. Immediately the Igbo left his own way of life he became the proverbial fish in the pond...available for everybody to fish. And if I catch you as a fish be sure that I have caught your resources in too. I want to believe that if we had not joined the whiteman by copying his way of life that the whiteman would have tried, but would have failed to amalgamate us to the other groups in Nigeria that have risen to take his place as our overlords. He would have gotten tired of trying. To confirm if this could have happened this way, read the history of Japan that European intervention abutted into. When the Europeans discovered that the Japanese were not ready to drop their culture and religion they stopped trying to colonize them. Also btw if we had tried to remain ourselves, assuming that we failed to fight off the colonialists, colonialism and its follow up: amalgamation wouldn't have been as onerous and destructive as they have been. The inability to know and realize who we are is the problem, because if you don't know who you are, you can begin to strive to become somebody-else-even your enemy.. |

The tribe of levi Four American Jews Visit The Igbos In Abuja For much of last month and this month groups of Igbos resident in Abuja played host to four American Jews; Lior David Shragg, an ethnomusicologist, working and studying at the University of Arizona, Shai Afsai, who is the Abuja/Nigeria representative of the U.S based Jewish non governmental organization Kulanu Inc’. Lawyer and Rabbi Barry Dolinger who heads a Jewish synagogue in Rhode Island, U.S.A, and his linguist wife Naomi. Lior came to study the music of the Igbo Jewish communities in Abuja. The rabbi who is the bespectacled one and his wife came to return a visit paid to his community last year by two Igbos: Obadiah Agbai of Item, Abia State, a retired geologist who worked with the FCDA, and Pinchas Azuka Ogbukaa, a businessman from Abala Uno, Delta State. Shai, the hefty guy came as the Kulanu representative. Kulanu partly sponsored the trip by the rabbi, and his wife. In Abuja this group visited many groups of the Igbo people such as the Jewish communities formed by Igbos, His Excellency former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia state, and others too numerous to mention. The group interacted intensively with the Igbos. They wanted to know more about the famed connections between the Igbo people and the Jews. While talking with this writer who is the Kulanu Inc liaison in Nigeria and who published ‘The Igbos And Israel: An Inter-cultural Study of the Largest Jewish Diaspora’,in the U.S.A, the rabbi expressed that it would be necessary for a linguist to begin to study the connections between the Igbo and Hebrew languages which they found to be fascinating. They and the Igbos who have started the ‘Plant For The Growth of Israel Synagogue’ took the photographs when they visited the community in Kuje Abuja.

(IN IGBO TRADTION) 1.An igbo male must be circumcised on the 8th day. This has been so from memorial times. According to some historians nobody knows why.It has the authority of custom and is the binding proof of the igbo-Hebrew relationship. 2.The right of circumcision is universally practice among the igbos and rigidly regarded the igbos but nobody knows why.It has the authority and custom (OMENANA) 3.If there are forty million igbos,at least eighteen million are male.We can say confidentially that all are circumcised, and on the 8 day that would make the igbos the largest body of people who have persons circumcised on the 8 day,but besides all the igbo males that are circumcised on the 8 day millions of non igbo nigerians have began to circumcised their sons,in emulation of igbos... HOW IGBO CHILD IS NAMED 1.Some scholars have said that the igbo child is named on the twenty eight day after it's birth some said is on the 9th day.Actually an igbo child may receive name on the very day he or she was born or any other date agreed with the family of the new born baby.As with ancient Isrealwhere naming of a child was a communal/kindred affair,so is with the igbos... 2.By tradition he should give the child a name(the one chosen by the father). The next person to provide a name for the child is the mother. The gran parents will also give the child names.Every person among those that gathered is also entitle to give the child a name. 3.After that the family elder will ask for quiet and start praying to chukwu (Great God).He begs Him to remember and consider the good deeds of the newborn's ancestors and use them to guide and protect the child through life. When he finish praying and praising pleading and supplicating ,he will seal the prayer by smacking the ofo on the ground and everybody will intone on the chorus Ihaaa or Isee (Amen). From that moment feasting and general merry making start and start showering gifts and present to the new born mother..Like in the Hebrew igbos may give a child name that connotes with an experience that they pass through for example Hanna called her son Samuel because she had asked him of the lord.Abraham and sarah named their son Issac because God use him to give them laughter and joy. 4.My Igbo name is (chibuike) which means God is my strength, people should do more studies about the igbos and who they really are...mainly none igbos 2 Likes |

I live in Israel and i will tell you the basic truth "Israel" is facing a great danger. We are surrounded by "Arabs Muslims" that want to eliminate Jews from Jerusalem. This is where King Solomon built a more substantive temple, Jerusalem was the capital of the Kingdom of Judah for some 5000 years. It had survived an Assyrian siege in 701 BCE by Sennacherib, According to the Bible, miraculous event in which an angel killed 185,000 men in Sennacherib's army.We are peaceful people and G-d knows the truth. In the book of Yehezqel“And the gentiles shall know that house of Yisra’el went into exile for their crookedness, because they have trespassed against Me, so that I hid My face from them, and I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. “According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.” ’(Yehezqel/Ezekiel 39:23,24) I teach my little one (Torah) given to us by G-d through Moses and we follow his order till today. As I read the news of #BokoHaram terrorizing and slaughtering the people of Nigeria, I am reminded of the supporter of APC of Sudan in the 1990s. Arab and African Muslims came together under the banner of jihadist Islam and killed millions of Sudanese Christians and animists. Once the Christians had been sufficiently slaughtered, the supporter of APC turned on the African Muslims and started slaughtering them. Seems the Black Africans thought they were accepted by the Arab caliphate lovers, but were surprised when that wasn't the case. 1400 years of precedent didn't give them a heads up. Boko Haram considers itself part of "SUNNI ISIS" and wants to join with their jihadi brothers - ushering in worldwide Islam by the sword. They're killing Christians and (if they are not stopped) will soon be targeting my Igbo Israelites of southern eastern Nigeria (where my dear friends and my relatives live). 1 Like |

The Igbos and Israel: An Inter-Cultural Study of the Largest Jewish Diaspora.” Among them, has given us a comprehensive presentation of Omenana or “what to do in the land,” Igbo culture, traditions and religious practices. He has also amply demonstrated the many similarities between Omenana and Jewish law. What I appreciated is that (Rabbi Meshach) makes us fall in love with the Igbo way. This will not only encourage and educate young Igbo in their great culture, which sadly many have not been taught, but it will fascinate Hebrews who wish to learn more about how lost tribes are keeping their traditions. Examples of the comparison between Judaism and Igbo Omenana that view of G-d and true monotheism; feasts and festivals including Passover, Sukkot and the Shabbat; birth, circumcision and bar mitzvah; marriage, levirate practice and divorce; death, mourning and sitting shiva; purification (mikveh) and ritual cleanliness; forbidden foods and the dietary laws; life-cycle events and so much more. 2 Likes |

President Jonathan is a very proud Ijaw man who almost always don the trademark Ijaw attire, with the fedora. Why did he don the quintessential Igbo fez which I saw the Samaritan high priest wearing in a photograph, and which the Jews of the Maghreb favour? Is he deferring to the Igbos.. Why should GEJ an Ijaw man putting on IGBO attire to pilgrimage? A highly placed Israeli official once told a great European Jewish scholar who is an expert on Igbo history that 'Israelis feel welcomed in Nigeria because of the Igbos'. We are not contented with leaving things in the hands of the 'elites' anymore. Snap shot of president Jonathan and his embattled aviation minister Stella Odua on the way to Israel......

re@lchange:Ndi-igbo had developed in all other areas of human endeavor but not politically. I am tempted to believe that they were beamed into our continent from somewhere else. Wilbur Smith spoke about a thing called "The pace of Africa" in which we do things in a leisurely manner, without any awareness of the commercial implications of our actions. Ndigbo simply do not do that, which tends to lead me to believe that they are Semitic in origin. It is not surprising that Ndigbo have been victims of pogroms over the years. This is historical and always happens to groups of entepreneural retailers like Phoenicians, and the Bamileke in Cameroon, the Kikuyu in Kenya. 1 Like |

Whatever happens, let it be, whatever is said about you, let it be said. You should consider them as inane as the mirage. If you have renounced or rejected worldly pursuits, how can these worth less matter affect your composure? Do not slacken even for a moment, your effort is finding out your own weakness or faults for correction. Only therein lies real personal upliftment. Take advantage of every moment every opportunity. Time passes quickly and the lost moment never returns. Get on with your work with total self involvement; you will reach your goal. Do not be upset over anything. Have faith not in the capacity of man, but that of G-d. Only the Almighty will show you and lead you on to the noble path. 1 Like |

Some may even qualify to be called enemies because of the intensity of their hostility. Disagreeing with a position is understandable, here is one from many comments from EBO (IGBO)landing project you can google it,diaspora coming home for cleansing one of them S.D. Prince Eluemonu quote! . He wrote the letter below: “Your Imminence, Thank you for your call yesterday. I was attending a banquets when you called. There was a lot of people talking around me so I did not hear everything that you said. The list of people coming to Anambra continues to grow. We are all excited about seeing and hearing with our own eyes and ears about the research of Queen Mother Professor ………….. and others about the ancient African history of Obu Uga and the throne of Eri, the holy land or Aguleri and the sacred river of Omambala. We are so excited about being a part of history in the making and the beginning of the New African Renaissance that will begin from your throne to the whole continent of Africa and the world. Outsiders want to convince us to believe that we come from them, that our culture, civilization and history comes from them. The Niger River Valley is the source, origin, mother of all world civilizations, cultures and people. History begins at Obu Uga. May the Spirit of our Ancestors be pleased in your restoring their proper place in our culture, history and tradition. The Igbo have never been slaves to any man, nation or people, neither are they the sons and daughters of slaves. The Igbo are not the descendant of slaves. Eri was not a slave or a descendant of slaves. The Ezeora son of Eri is not a slave or the descendant of slaves. Slavery is an abomination to the Igbo. We the children of captive Africans throughout the diaspora will come to the holy land of Aguleri to be cleansed from the abomination of slavery, not to become descendants of slaves again It is important that you understand why we are coming and why the world will be coming to the land of Eri. We are not coming because of what outsiders have told us about who we are. We do not believe that. We totally reject the foreign imposition of someone else’s culture, religion and history on us. We want everyone to know this. We want all our friends and enemies to know that the day of religious imperialism on Igbo culture is over. We had enough of that as slaves in America. We are very excited about coming home. Warm regards, S.D Prince Eluemuno The Ebo (Igbo) Landing Project. |

I'm studying the gog and magog idea intensively. My motivation for studying this, is ongoing events that relate to the ongoing teshuva of the Igbo (Ibo) people. There are individuals that are fighting tenaciously to derail the ongoing teshuva (return) of the Igbos to G-d and Torah. As the Igbos struggle to reconnect to Torah; which is clearly Igbo culture, to the extent, that the word for Igbo culture (Omenana) would be found in the Torah, these people who are manifestations of evil try their level best to sow discord, confusion and disaffection. One of them has infiltrated Igbo fora, where he tried to spread anti-Semitic libels. |
