Crime › Re: 2 Widows Accused Of Being Witches Tortured To Death In Cross River (Graphic Pics by dalass(f): 12:25pm On Aug 30, 2022
Obio4real:
More details have emerged on how two widows, Mrs Martina Osom and Mrs Rose Akom were tortured to death by youths on Saturday, August 27 in Ebbaken community in Boje, Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Photos obtained by GRASSROOT REPORTERS shows one of the aged women tied with sticks while the other was set ablaze.

GRASSROOT REPORTERS gathered that the women who are Catholics were returning from early morning prayers when the youths accused them of initiating a member of the community into witchcraft.

They had ordered the women to confess that they are witches.

An eyewitness had told Vanguard that:
“They were both tied with strong ropes and beaten in the rain all through the day until they died."

In saner climes, they have old people's homes where the aged are cared for. In Nigeria, old women especially widows and childless are often labelled as witches... Whyhuh undecided

Don’t bother arguing with those clowns. These are the real companies that helped to develop Lagos and the south west in general not Okrika, laptop, or spare parts business. They think too highly of themselves. All they do is buy and sell, nothing more. They are actually a net negative to the economy because all they do is simply importing finished goods (buy and sell/container economy). Importing alone drags down the GDP of the country. They don’t manufacture or export. GDP is derived from what you export versus what you import. All they do is import. Nothing more.

The sectors that generate the most taxes in Lagos are manufacturing, banking, telecoms, insurance, funds, finance, stock market, hospitality, health, fintech, data, betting, movie productions, online shopping, IT, entertainment etc. These are well structured businesses that contribute immensely to the economy, unlike those that only import and sell low grade imported/finished goods.

I’ve already written an article showing the amazing businesses and companies owned by Yorubas. I intend to post it later here on nairaland. You will be surprised to see how much we dominate. Our culture detests bragging. The Yoruba are educated, humble, cultured, tolerant, respectful and hardworking. Some of Yoruba owned/ Yoruba majority share holding companies off the top of my head include…
FLOUR MILLS
HONEYWELL
UACN
GLO
GTB
CUSTODIAN INVESTMENT PLC
ST NICOLAS HOSPITAL
DUCHESS INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL
FIRST BANK

EBONLYLIFE FILMS
COWRYWISE

E too plenty abeg. If I continue, I won’t finished listing them all. We are blessed. We don’t do container economy. We are into real business and entrepreneurship. Our businesses not only pay huge taxes but also creates employment and adds immensely to the value chain of the economy. Businesses that requires brain and intelligence not simply opening shop and selling finished good. Thanks to the great Chief Obafemi Awolowo for making education paramount. May his soul continue to Rest In Peace

Politics › Re: Sarki Trends At Number 1 As He Declares Support For Atiku Abubakar by dalass(f): 7:04am On Aug 25, 2022
naptu2:
See previous thread here: My Brother Kidnapped On The Abuja-Kaduna Train Has Not Been Released - Sarki

Sarki, aka Waspapping, was a prominent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and defender of Northern Nigeria on Twitter. He often clashed with Igbos because of his support for the President and defence of Northern Nigeria.

However, in recent times, he has criticised the President because of the insecurity in Northern Nigeria.

His criticism of the President became more intense after his brother was kidnapped while travelling on the Abuja-Kaduna train. He apologised to Igbos for his previous tweets and he also appealed to Twitter users to donate to a ransom fund for his kidnapped brother. A popular supporter of Peter Obi, Afam Deluxo, appealed to Igbos to forgive Sarki and some Peter Obi supporters contributed to the ransom fund.

However, Sarki declared his support for Atiku Abubakar yesterday and this caused a sensation on Twitter. Some Peter Obi supporters accused him of betraying them. Some people accused Afam of colluding with Sarki to defraud them. Some APC and PDP supporters and Ipob members have been mocking Peter Obi supporters and claiming that Sarki tricked them. Some people say that Sarki's support for Atiku shows that Northerners will always support their own. Others have stated that people should have the right to support anyone that they want.

Sarki says that he did not deceive anybody, that Afam never asked anyone to contribute to the fund and that his apology to Igbos still stands.
I said it before. Help almahiris at your own peril. They are only loyal to the north

Unfortunately, the Keke dropped me in front of Amala skye

U are just bitter because they are the most successful tribe despite not having access to Nigeria money.
Go to banana island, lekki etc
They own the big houses and companies u will see there
Go to kano and katsina, they are there helping to develop those places
Their people are not poor and you will never see an igbo man begging for arms on the street.
They don't raise only friends
They raise community
One igbo can make 100 igbo men successful without bragging about it.
I b Edo boy and I have lived with igbo and Yoruba people in my stay in Lagos and I will choose igbo 1million times over you guys.
Tribalism and hatred is what u will find from an average Yoruba man simply because u are more successful than them
It is better to beg for alms if you are hungry and broke than to break into someones business to loot, commit armed robbery or kidnap to establish 'business'.

That 3 boys could take a joint decision to leave the east to go to a place like ijebu and the only reason is to commit robbery should have made all their tribesmen on this platform to see that something is inherently wrong with some youths from that side and to either keep quiet or condemn that crime.

It is so shameful that some are defending them and claiming Lagos. After robbing people blind in ijebu to pay for shop an starting a business, years later, those small rats will be forming big boys and claiming to develop ijebu too undecided undecided undecided

Disadvantages:
1. You work even past 5pm till late in the night most times.
2. You can have unplanned meetings so going for personal issues outside your home could be tricky.
3. You need constant power supply for a perfect work station which could costs alot.
4. Working from home could be boring because you miss that office excitement and banter.
5. You add lots of weight because of less stress and eating too much.
6. Much distraction from kids and family members especially married ones.
And neighbors who wonder why you don't go out to hustle or to 'work' anymore grin

5 Advantages of Working From Home

Most times working from home is underrated. Working from home has lots of advantages that it almost feels like a luxury

It can be so wonderful to not have to share workspaces with annoying coworkers and overbearing bosses

Let's talk about the 5 Benefits of Working From Home

1. Being Able to Save a Lot of Time
Working at home helps save a lot of precious time. That means that you can spend more time doing the things that you actually love in life.

If you want to be able to hang out more with your friends and family members, then working at home can open you up to that pure joy.

It is so nice to not have to deal with long traffic in the morning and again at night(Lagos people can relate wella)

Not having to deal with uber drivers or any other form of transportation daily

Not having to leave home as early as 4 am & come back around 11pm

2. Being Able to Work in an Environment You Love:

It can be nice to be able to work as you stare at your walls covered in photographs of the people you love the most in the world

Staring at pictures of family members all day definitely beats being in a cold and sterile office environment with harsh lighting

3. Being Able to Take Breaks Whenever the Need Arises
If you work at home, then you’re in charge of your own schedule. You don’t have to worry much about anyone monitoring you.

It can be frustrating to not be able to nap quickly any time your eyelids feel heavy or go for a refreshing walk any time when you feel overwhelmed with work.

4. Not Having to Spend too much on Food:
It can be frustrating to have to buy food daily from local restaurants and fast food joints or pack food from home.

Paying for food outside can cost a lot. When I was working as a cashier with L.G., I used to spend 2/3 of my salary on T.P & the rest on food. Yes, no savings!

5. Not Having to Pick Out Outfits

Thinking of matching colours of shoes, bags & outfit is a herculean task

Back then, I used to spend my weekends planning clothes for the week.

To think that you have to iron the clothes to look professional

At home, you can wear your softest pair of leggings around. You can even keep your pyjamas on.

It's just bae
Thanks OP

Plus

No transportation costs, hazards or risks and

You make more money than running Helter skelter, as in, you make dough in foreign currency grin grin
