Senegal still has a slight chance. Let me also watch Ghana and Morocco in their second games before I judge.

So, you have to raise the bar so tey you mentioned some of our best ever players. grin

Although, Osimhen is not yet in that class but you had to squeeze him in forgetting him and Lookman are among the top goalscorers in Seria A. grin

I don't know if Bassey that made Europa team of the season and still secured a move to Ajax is mediocre according to you. Yes! Bassey is not yet there but he is progressing just like those aforementioned players progressed during their young career.

Is Dresser who won Eredivisie top goalscorers, Europe conference top goalscorer and made Europe conference team also mediocre to you? grin

If not for his age, I don't think he will be in that team.

Is Aribo also mediocre who was arguably part of Rangers success to finals of Eùropa? grin

Which one is mediocre? I want to know precisely.
I think we can still do with some quality FB players in our squad. But what you've just put up there doesn't invalidate zuchy's point. Ok let's compare some of the fb players you mentioned in your post to some of our current homegrown players.

Is Dessers better than osimhen, onuachu, moffi or even olayinka??
Has Aribo been able to outperform someone like Etebo or even a Ramon Azeez in the NT??
we all know chukwueze and simon aren't consistent performers, but has lookman been any better (albeit, during his shot stint with the NT.)

For a moment, I forgot we had Lookman on the right. It was that bad.

He also didn't join the highpress as much as I expected.
We played some of our best football under gernot when we utilised fast and skillful inverted wingers. I've never seen a Nigeria attacking trindent as dangerous like the K.O.C version I saw against Ukraine and sierra Leone. Our decline under rohr coincided with the period when he started playing a two man midfield. Playing Lookman(a right footer) from the right wing takes out something from our attack. I will maintain that we need to revert back to using inverted wingers and ditch the experiment of playing a two man attack or playing a traditional winger. We should improve our midfield plays. We have some of the hottest strikers in Europe. We're doing our self a disservice if we continue to ignore our midfield problems. Play a balanced blend of midfielders behind our inverted wingers and powerful strikers and we could be up to something special

Chukweze missed a sitter and Dennis missed a penalty while Portugal got a cheap penalty.
This game is a already a psychological pain to our players. The penalty miss just killed any iota of interest in the game. For me, the game ended when Dennis missed that penalty.

We have a good team in transition.
Nevertheless I believe, we need Nwakali as the second AM.
We move!
Bu..... but, I thought oyenka, ndidi, aribo, iwobi and etebo are our best midfielders. Infact they are the best midfielders in Africa.

And lemme add that Nwakali is not needed we have a "press resistant" midfield maestro like Bonke

Subzero047:
Osayi Samuel, Bassey, Iwobi, Lookman that's it.
Chukwueze had a decent cameo. We actually played better from the hour mark but we lacked organisation in defence. We controlled the game better and played out from the back better.

Osimhen's aerial master game truly activated in 22/23

Osimhen began the season bagging with both feet but now the lad has unlocked his head game and has done it twice now, back to back in 22/23.

Be reminded.... Osimhen bagged 8 headers across all competitions last season.

He is already on 2 now in 22/23.

I predicted 10 headers on twitter since August 5. Here we go. cool

My trolling for Nunez go bad ,that’s another 100 million player ,but Liverpool fans go Dey call pep check book coach

Just wait .
The liverpool guy Daniel(cant spell is actual moniker) will probably be knocking himself now. i remember vividly how he vehemently opined that nunez would score more goals than halaand this season. Naso some 'mumu' for my area been talk say nunez better pass halaand because him(nunez) score for community shield.

According to owngoal, the revealed xi for today's game will see Bassey partner Akpoguma in defence flanked by Aina and Zaidu at RB and LB respectively. Oyenka and Iwobi pairing at the centre. Lookman and Moses to start from the flanks and Iheanacho and Moffi to lead the lines.

In reality it was an ambiguity of misrepresentation with the term qualifiers.
Hahaha. For someone who frequently uses this line~ "when you keep quiet people may eroneously assume u're intelligent". Ur consistency in spewing ignorance is quite legendary.
