One thing i noticed from my husband was that even during ttc time he only makes love to me on my ovulation days, and we always quarrel because while we were dating he wasn't this way. It is well sis...from ivf to cheating spouse iv been there sis... please relax and talk to a friend or sister you are pregnant now...your health and that of your baby should be your priority...thank God he knows you saw them.it can be painful but you have to be strong...ivf is an emotional and psychological journey on its own...please eat well and rest..if you need space you can go for a short break to clear your head.. if you need someone to talk to you can send me a mail

Good morning to you all. Please I need your candid opinion on this issue, my ivf doctor said they do recomend preventive cerclage at 12weeks for their patients. I don't have any issue with my cervix at all ,so I'm just thinking if its even necessary. Did any of you do any preventive cerclage or your doctor recommend it after ivf even when you u have no issue with d cervix. Pls mamas , I need response.

I didn't have a cerclage cos my cervix was ok.. but if you are carrying multiple I'll advice you get a cerclage done...then your doctor will check to know if you need it or not

Good Morning all. Please can anyone tell me where and how to treat acute stenosis of the cervix? The normal catheter is not working for me. Any time i remove the catheter the cervix closes back (even after three months)and it results to menses being trapped in the uterus. i have done three IVFs, one IUI and two hysteroscopy. Please i need anyone that has seen or gone tru the same issue to push me in the right direction. i am also considering surrogacy. One hospital in Abj said 25M. My people how many yrs will i save up such amount when i am not a govt official. Am really . Blendy and all the sabi mamas make unah put mouth.

Wow i was diagnosed with stenosis after a laparoscopy.. i heard the doctor say it might be difficult for sperm to pass during a procedure... the first ivf transfer worked easily..had hysteroscopy and mock transfer but ended up blighted...second transfer was a bit difficult o i had given up sef cos de struggled to pass the catheter...hmmm but it worked and i had my baby... after which i have had two natural pregnancies when i least expected... cos of tubal blockage and endometriosis though i lost them early
So i guess mine isnt an acute case.. but try and carry out lots of research or change hospital to see more experienced gynea

Hello Ma'am, I only used Gestone (Progesterone injection) after my positive results due to spotting. Only Cyclogest and Progynova was given after retrieval.

Wow... my hospital uses cyclogest and progynova b4 transfer then gestone is added after transfer

I was having yeast infection so I stopped inserting through the front ....I inserted through the back through out my pregnancy

Part 2 (Pregnancy and delivery)

This pregnancy was very eventful tbh. I used a total of 4 hospitals for different reasons and seem to have experienced all the pregnancy symptoms there is. Actually, it felt like whenever WTE (Pregnancy app) sends me a weekly pregnancy update I start experiencing the pregnancy symptoms they mention.

From day one of bfp i started experiencing nausea, cramping. Then some days later I started having really sharp pains in my tummy. I went to  a scan place ( this was the last day of the lockdown and i almost got arrested by police..thankfully I showed them an old chat i had with my doctor asking me to go do a test and the policeman couldn't tell it was old) and the sonographer's conclusion was endometriosis (sigh) even when I told him I had gotten a positive pregnancy test.

The next day i went to my hospital and the new gyne they had vexed me eh...I've never seen someone so unprofessional. He asked why I came to see him instead of a gp when all i had was a urinary tract infection (the swine was looking at notes from my previous visit)..he reluctantly sent me for a blood pt when I pointed out his mistake and dismissed my complaint about the pains and refused to request for a scan. I had to request for another scan myself at the hospital and they saw multiple fibroids (they were more than 5 but the largest was measuring around 2.5cm and it was the cause of the pain) a sac and no fetal pole was seen...

I was already 5 weeks plus here so naturally I became really worried because fetal pole should be seen at 5+ with tvs...I was asked to repeat the scan in 3 weeks and I can say that was the longest 3 weeks of my life. I started searching for blighted ovum comments on NL and even messaged a mama about her own experience but didn't get a response. Week 8 came and I did another scan and both FP and heartbeat were seen, victory!

Then week 9 i started spotting and the cramping increased so I went to hospital number 2. The doctors solution was to watch and see and in his words "if the pregnancy stays till 20 weeks id give medication to mature the baby's lungs.." i almost passed out, they had to buy me coke to revive me, lol. That was the end of my sojourn with hospital 2.

Went to hospital 3 and the doctor put me on cyclogest for 1 month and when the cramping and spotting increased he increased the dosage of the drugs. The plan was to use hospital 3 for antenatal then travel abroad for delivery...so when they too started misbehaving I just told myself id manage them till I travel.

Second trimester came with increased libido and energy which quickly disappeared in the 3rd trimester. I had all sorts in the first and 3rd trimesters..nausea, skin rashes, heartburn, hemorrhoids, both round ligament and back pains.

It wasn't until 35weeks that I realised my plans of travelling had gone burst and I genuinely went into panic mode. For some reason I wasn't very settled about using hospital 3 for delivery but I couldn't place a finger on why I felt that way, maybe because one of my visits i had to remind the doctor of my condition cos his notes had me as having cervical incompetence which was wrong amongst other things...fortunately I went for antenatal at 35+ and the hospital Informed me that my HMO has cancelled their contract with them so id have to pay by myself for services rendered...that was the sign I was looking for in the end as I told myself if I was going to pay myself then I'd rather be where I'm comfortable with..so the hunt for hospital for delivery started.

After several calls and Google searches and reviews I picked hospital number 4..called them but unfortunately their gynes were fully booked and the first available slot was at week 37 (my delivery week). I booked to see a GP for week 36 so I can visit the hospital and I went along with my medical record.

First visit with gyne was Tuesday and while discussing with her I felt so at ease...she complimented my pcv (done at week 35 was 40%) and asked what I ate to have kept it so high (I ate lots of fruits and veges during my pregnancy). She asked about my medical history and was very thorough..my dh even reminded me of my arrhythmia (I had forgotten about it) and it was documented.

I mentioned my fears ranging from pain management to infection and anesthesia and she allayed my fears...but she said they were fully booked and because of my history (prev myo and CS) they can't keep me beyond 37weeks so the only time they can slot me in was 7am the next day . Lol..I hadn't even packed my bag infact the last items on my list that I bought were supposed to be delivered to me that day.
I had planned to go home and pack after the lab work and ECG and scan. Scan showed my baby's EFW was 2.9kg, pcv was 38% but my Potassium level was low and they needed to correct it with drips prior to surgery hence I was admitted immediately. My DH and nanny had to do the packing over WhatsApp video call with me lying in bed hooked up to a line..lol thankfully they were able to get everything I needed.

The doctor had told me to wake up early and have a long shower since I won't be having a shower in a while, I assumed it was until I'm discharged cos with my abroad delivery I started showering upon discharge. She also briefed about the food and water fast..no food beyond 10pm and no water beyond 12midnight. Id be shaved that night, taken down to the theatre at 6:30am and prepped for surgery, she'd see me at 7am and go through the consent form and the anesthesiologist will brief me too.

I couldn't sleep that night..I kept waking up every 30mins so as not to miss that hot shower..and I was very nervous because the scariest part of the surgery for me is the anesthesia and that their gigantic needle. Finally got off the bed at 4:30am and took a long shower. The nurse came and inserted a catheter, collected the clothes baby will wear and at 6:30 we went down to the theatre area (i was in the recovery room cos someone else was in the labour room and her screams were so loud..made me shiver).

The gyne came and we went through the consent contents in details which includes benefits of the surgery, possible complications (blood loss, damage to surrounding organs and a possible Hysterectomy in a case of uncontrollable bleeding) and I signed the form. I digress, these details solely concerns the woman and her health, it baffles me that some hospitals in Nigeria insist/wait for the husband, who isnt the patient, to sign the consent form when the woman is conscious and lucid.

The anesthesiologist came and she asked about my history, known drug allergies, anf she explained the process..when id feel a sting on my back, then warmness in my legs then the heaviness and inability to raise my legs etc. She also mentioned she'd monitor my heart cos of the arrhythmia...I asked about spinal headache (solution is to take caffeine...coffee or coke) and my fear of the needle.
Now it was time to head to the theatre proper..unfortunately due covid they weren't allowing spouses into the theatre anymore so my dh had to wait in the recovery room for me.

Got on the bed and the sitting position was such that the anesthesiologist was behind me so I didn't get to see the dreaded needle . The whole medical team were female including the pediatrician and that made me at ease for some weird reason.

The anesthesiologist would state what she wanted to do before she does it...e.g "im going to clean your back with disinfectant" etc.. I arched my back on the pillow as requested, she found the opening in my spine, I felt the mild sting on my back, then my legs started getting warm so I had to quickly lie down before my legs became numb...then the tingling sensation came, then I couldn't wriggle my toes anymore. She then asked me to lift my legs which I obviously couldn't do as the blocking had worked.

I laid down flat on the table with my hands spread out to both sides with the anesthesiologist standing by my head and she asked that I tell her if I feel the need to throw up as that was one of the effects of the drugs administered. After the medical team read their checklist (something I really liked) they took note of the time and started work.

I started smelling something like burning meat and I tried to ask the anesthesiologist what it was before I realised it was me been cut open ...just the usual tugging feeling on the skin and no other feelings.

The doctor really took her time as the whole surgery from start to end lasted 1hr 38mins. It was boring and no dh to gist with. At some point I reacted to a medication given (my heart rate changed due to the arrhythmia) and I was given an oxygen mask , I also felt like throwing up at some point but it was a false alarm..

I was waiting for that chest pressure you feel when they are pulling the baby out but the gyne asked the anesthesiologist to put pressure on my chest with her hands so the pain wasn't much then I heard my baby scream and my tear ducts opened up. I started crying like a baby the anesthesiologist had to help me wipe my tears...they took her out immediately to clean her up and dress her up before bringing her to me for sighting and kissing, then they took her back to the recovery room to my dh.

The stitching felt like forever as I was eager to go hold my baby. I started shivering slightly and the doc switched off the AC directly pointed at me..
Towards the end the touches didn't feel like tugging anymore, I started feeling a little pain and I told the anesthesiologist and she mentioned it was normal cos the spinal block was beginning to wear off as it was 1hr 30mins after it was given.

Finally stitching was completed and they inserted a pain relief medication in my anus that gave a metallic taste in my mouth and I was transferred from the operating table to the wheeled bed and moved to the recovery room.

I vomited in the theatre o...the kind fear that gripped me when I started having a funny feeling on my chest wasn't funny at all

I kept testing and it kept getting dark though no serious symptoms except breast pain and weakness..so after 2weeks I decided to visit my gynea for TVs. He couldn't locate any baby just a thickened lining..so he asked me to come bk after 1 week ...which I did same result he also checked for ectopic which was my fear but nothing was seen...so he said he suspects blighted ovum... that I should go home and repeat the test..I had already given up thinking it will be negative since scan at 7weeks didnt show anything not even a sac o...to my greatest surprise pt was still positive even darker than before... I'm to return tomorrow to the hospital to the next line of action
Iv had series of very early miscarriages in the past which starts from spotting and tests gets negative before I had my son...
This one no bleeding or spotting...in fact iv been going about my normal day to day activity
Pls who has experienced this before...sorry for the long write up

Sadly it was ectopic had to undergo surgery and a tube was lost in the process...thank God I went to the hospital in time

I had similar issue but mine is a bit different. I started spotting then later bleeding occurred. My LMP was August 16. But scan results is measuring lesser weeks . I ought to be 11 weeks but scan is showing am 7 weeks and some days. So have given up on my LMP , am now on a follow up with the scan dates. One gestational sac has collapsed leaving one which I prays results in a successful pregnancy. My spotting brownish blood that comes and go.
Have never experienced this before. At 6 weeks scan, no heart beat. Just the sac was seen. So am praying for miracle. I will repeat scan in three weeks time. To confirm if am still pregnant , I did PT yesterday. it brought out two dark lines. As anyone experience long time spotting during pregnancy and still carry the pregnancy to full term. People have started noticing the pregnancy. My tummy is already showing. Still no heartbeat. My lovely mother's please pray for me

Just to encourage us sisters, just keep on with serrapeptase, Chinese teas and the castor oil massage. Give yourself 6-9months on this regimen.
Please follow Blendy's and my routine judiciously.
Guess what your tubes remain open after this. I am a testimony. After my first child in 2016, I wasn't on any family planning. I just continued with serra and the massage.Guess what, i concieved 18months after in 2019. Guess what again I concieved again recently though I lost the pregnancy even though we were not expecting this one like ten months after baby 2.
Lesson I learned from this journey,
1. Be consistent and don't give up.
2. Don't use family planning except you don't want to conceive again.
3. Know the position of your uterus through scan.
4. Know your fertile days by using opk to check if you are ovulating at all and mate with your spouse.
5. Above all, speak Gods words to your womb.

... steam... put few drops of silverbird In hot water ... hold ur baby and cover urselves with blanket make baby inhale d steam...just a little o..not too much......then u can be putting drops of silverbird in baby bathing water... or water for massaging (towel in hot water)...make sure u don't expose him too much...then always rub mentholato on his feet before wearing socks... cattarh is a viral infection it will go on it's own

Baby girl made her grand entry on the 11th of August.

My journey was a very sweet one and I enjoyed every bit of it because I had no MS except for mild heart burn , I ate everything I cooked and didn't have weird cravings.
I was very agile that it got to a point I had to ask myself if I was really pregnant..lol.
Had 3 EDDs 18th (scan), 24th and 26th of August.
Fast forward to 10th of August after I finished cooking, I ate like I've been fasting for one week. Lol.
I started having contractions, it came like waves, I timed it to know if it was false labour or the real thing.
Few minutes later I went to urinate and saw blood, immediately I told my husband that I've seen show by then the contractions became stronger, I changed to a gown and wore a pant and told hubby to bring my bag, as we were about leaving for the hospital my water broke.
I never knew I could speak in perfect tongues until that day. Lol. As I got into the car I didn't know when I removed my pant I thought I was going crazy, I shouted on hubby to drive gently and drive fast at the same time.
We finally got to the hospital at 10:10pm and I was checked lo and behold I was already 5cm dilated. The nurse was surprised and told me I will be checked again in 4hrs time.
The contractions became stronger that I felt like pooing twice the last urge to poo came and I couldn't bear it any longer I ask them to call the nurse, immediately the nurse came I told her I want to poo poo She said oya come let me check you, she checked and and I was fully dilated.
She asked me not to push until I was told to do so but the urge to push became uncontrollable, she gave me a cut and said pushhh!! see your baby head and after two pushes my angel came out at exactly 1:10am 11th of August weighing 3.5kg. Funny thing is immediately she came out the pains just disappeared fiam!!
I return all the glory to God for a successful journey.
