Yoruba is your best ally if you need to wrestle power from the north, but the hatred that has been planted long before many of us were born i.e Civil war, has beclouded our sense of reasoning and logic to the simple thing so as to actualise our desires, in one Nigeria.

The igbo man that will support the north during election and still come back crying of marginalisation after the election, looks a bit insane and needs to be changed.

I've been seeing this girl for the last few months, since early January of this year. Not an official relationship and we haven't really talked about what we are. Not sure exactly how to describe her so I'm just going to use her as a friend in benefit as the description.

There was some emotion in our relationship but it was mostly sexual. I've always been really, really good about using condoms and this is the first time I've ever been in this pregnancy situation.

I'm pretty unsure if I am the father. We had sex about twice a week for the last three months. So I have no clue who she saw or was with nor do I really care to be honest. There is more than a little doubt in my mind if I am the father.

For what its worth she insists I am the father but I don't know. She learned she was pregnant on March 22nd. She Told me on 24th. I immediately encouraged her to get an abortion I've offered to cover it all cost . She said she would think about. Its been almost 2 weeks and no abortion.

I spoke to her this morning and its becoming kind of clear that an abortion probably isn't happening. She is starting to get kind of tired of me pushing the abortion. I don't know what else to do. I'm starting to really get scared I am only 21 and I don't even have a job. I can't afford to raise a child right now and I certainly don't want a family right now. I'm thinking of telling her to reconsider the abortion or take care of the baby alone.

What do I do now?

Sentiment apart. I grew up in the north but i am from the west. This is a creation of the north, and not of any government, either past or present. The best any government would do is to try. The northern male population who are not educated is alarming, they have always been used as tools to perpetrate any dastard act thinkable, maybe in the name of religion or reward for such execution.

I Lived in Kaduna for years, witnessed Zango-kataf, sharia dole and minimal crisis here and there. Kano is not left out, not to talk of Jos. I once drove almost naked to escape the crisis from Tsamir-boka, Hotoro in Kano through the Maiduguri road to Sabon gari, with my sick dad and if i could recall about 10 people were with us in the small old 504 salon car, how we managed through till today remains a mystery.

When we fortunately got to Sabon gari, the soldiers asked us how we managed to escape, and i retorted, through the Maiduguri road they were all in shock as that axis was a no go area as at that time, i told them the only way the hard way, i just felt it would be better to die trying than for us to be slaughtered right in our homes. The soldier shook my hand and congratulated me for making it this far.

What is happening now in the entire north spreading down south is a creation of the north which we all failed to raise meaningful concerns about, possibly offering pragmatic solutions and making sure it is implemented. The people of the west have a saying "Bi ará ilé ẹni ba njẹ kòkòrò búburú ti a ò sọ fun, hẹ̀rẹ̀-huru rẹ kò ní jẹ ki a sùn" – If you fail to warn your neighbour of danger, his/her cries at night might prevent you from sleeping.

The Test of Proficiency in English (TPE) language will come up on 5 and 6 November, 2021 for candidates seeking admission for 2021/2022 academic session.

Departments willing to conduct Subject test on either of the two dates should please indicate on this platform or send in a memo on or before 25 October, 2021 . This is to enable us to schedule the candidates for TPE.
