Romance / Re: Girls And Their Request by Damsal(f): 10:35am On Sep 01, 2006
Looool, grin. I've always believed that if a girl asked you for material things right into a relationship, it is because she has her eyes on a whole lot of things and love is not a part of it. There's something about being in a relationship and caring a lot about how a guy considers you that makes you too concious of keeping that image positive to make sure he keeps thinking of you higly. So the next time u find yourself in such a relationship you might just consider taking a step back. smiley
Literature / Re: Who Wants To Write A School Drama? by Damsal(f): 1:55pm On Aug 31, 2006
@ Seun
When i saw this thread i though to ma self this guy just doesn't stop, does he? not that it's a bad thing it's actually very good you're very ambitious it's very er, erm attractive . Don't worry i'm not hitting on u just saying that i like that about u .

u broading your horizons and testing out differnt waters and different trying out differnt things.  Just don't become a jack of all trade master of none.

davidylan:

No Seun, i do not write dramas.
Your best bet like i said earlier would be to start writing, post it in here and many of us can help you polish it up or at least give our idea of how good it is. If only all these sycophantic "more, more" illiterates will give others breathing space to do an objective criticism!

Like Davidylan i don't often write drama's, onless i have a good reason to lipsrsealed. Actually i could write the drama for u for free but since i left school couple of years back and ma change of location won't make me write something relevant to Nigerian school kids, so like David said why don't u start writing and post it here and we could all help you with inputs into the story.

davidylan link=topic=21592.msg583301#msg583301 date=1156824839:

I have 2 books published on the market now, from the amount i realised (not that much), i have realised the power of a simple manuscript! I would probably make 100x more money by developing my own manuscript!

what are your books called i'd love to read them, and probably get an autograph  cheesy cheesy cheesy
Business / Re: Anyone Want To Set Up A Clothing Line? by Damsal(f): 6:43pm On Aug 29, 2006
I want to set up a clothing line i have ma designs and logo, but i need some business advice before i go in. And since i'm a very sceptical person i'll have to meet the person i'm going to be working with if i am to. So are u actually located in china? and i'm not very familier with many fabrics particular names so i'm going to need quite some help on that.
Literature / Re: I'm Writing A Musical Movie by Damsal(f): 8:39pm On Aug 23, 2006
Do u mean something like asian movies or Grease when you say musical.
And when you say opera do u actually mean hitting high notes or actually creating some flows. Anyway whichever way it sounds interesting i just think you should create music that relates to the potential audience. And by 'here' where on earth do you mean?

Romance / Re: Should A Guy Beg A Girl On His Knees If He Offend Her? by Damsal(f): 9:17pm On Aug 22, 2006
na you shouldn't have to go on your knees if she really loves you, which as she claims does not seem to be the truth because when you love someone you care too much about them to let them go. Dude i can only advice you to get another girl.

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Ugly Face With Nice Body Or Pretty Face With An Ugly Body? by Damsal(f): 9:07pm On Aug 22, 2006
Looool, what's classified as an ugly body.

i actually like them to have both, i mean if u have a pretty face what's keeping u from having a a 'nice' body. But if i seriously had to pick i'll pick a pretty face an ugly body can always be kept under covers grin
Literature / Re: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Damsal(f): 12:40pm On Aug 22, 2006
tinard:

Na wa o. You people are getting a free story but u still de complain. I can't see any of you guys writing a story half as good,
To all the haters, write your own stories , IF YOU DARE

Okay tinard I find your comment highly insulting, no one ever said the story was bad *you might want to read back through the past comments* what has been said were that the story was incomplete and i made particular emphasis on the fact that Seun had not done his reaserch well so if you are going to make this personal i'll advice you have a good reason to do so angry. And sweetie don't bring the Simpsons into this, it's gone far smiley.
Seun also said that the inspiration for his story was dragonball Z a cartoon i hate with a passion whenever my brothers watch it, i find nothing amusing about it except the fighting and so it is not surprising that i'm not taken by Seun's story.

tinard:

Also Seun as some of the Nairaland users seem to be incredibly thick, explain the purpose of each story before you start because even the ones who wants to be critics are lipsrsealed

Okay now this comment you took one step to far, if you've read very good stories such as catherine cookson, Joan collins, Arundhati Roy "God of small things" and that dude who writes crime books can't remember his name right now, you'll realise that right from the first ten lines you are given an insight into the story. This can not be compared to that cause it's not even a story, it's a erm script like thingy and so that was why i needed to know the aim of the story.

And about your last line Haters?? sweetie think again. If i'm to buy this story/comic it better be worth it. I'm just raising comments on which i personally believe can be better, I'm not hating on the guy if he wants his story to be great then he has to listen to potential customers views. And if u think it's hating then clearly you are not one to listen to advice when it's given to u.
Literature / Re: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Damsal(f): 12:43pm On Aug 21, 2006
I must admit i'm not really feeling this story, there is no distinct difference between both characters the boy is supposed to be an angel but all i keep seeing in him is an everyday kid.
I was expecting more formality from him, use of a particular segment of words used by only the heavenly bodies more respect you know anything to make him seem out of this world and unusual and he is not actually supposed to question his name given by God, angels don't have free will.
And the part about taking baths in the river we(readers) realised that he doesn't know much about earth but in the last few lines he showed a lot of knowledge about earth and how filthy child abuse can be also for also for a thousand year old angel who has probably done this job a thousand times he is very incompetent and not good at delivering messages.

Also Please tell me the part where God strikes the kid is supposed to be intended humour, just knowing that the all-knowing was not aware that his angel did not like the name assigned to him is very lipsrsealed

Naturally as a reader i like something that really stimulates my intellect, but i think you went into overdrive when you went into fantasy land. The theme of this story is not very obvious and the aim to be achieved is not clear.

I'm sorry that after you making three re-writes i still find the story incomplete. I'm guessing that after what i've written you are not going to like me very much but i really need you to end your last story Najarita or at least give a summary and since you are possibly hating me take your time but don't take it too much cause then i'll be the one who is angry.
I just see a lot more future for that story. Or it could just be my personal opinion.

Ps
You could actually make this story very funny and action packed, i just don't think you are going about it the rightway

clearly YOU must know a lot about them to claim the dude looks like one.
Religion / Re: Is God Partial? by Damsal(f): 1:42pm On Aug 19, 2006
Tomiwa, In the book of matthew the bible says i didn't come to bring peace. So expecting that God should place an end to every problem is very questionable. Even Jesus went through suffering and had to plead with God to "take away this cup of suffering" yet it was not taken away, it just goes to show that there can't be victory with out tribulation.
It is very hurtful seeing unfortunate people around while others are basking in riches but that's just how things would be till the end of time. I've always believed that if u got a misfortune then it's cause you've done something wrong or otherwise. Such as when i lose money i always believe it's cause someone needs it more than i do, so if a baby dies before it's born probably the parents do not deserve it or are not in position to care for it.
Ps.
this reasoning does not go for that of the third world.

Nairaland / General / Re: "why Do We Need So Many Children" by Damsal(f): 11:04pm On Aug 16, 2006
I don't think it's a question of why we need so many children, most people just like giving birth and some children that arrive are unplanned the couple probably had sex and realised awnother kid is on the way. I guess people are not aware of how overpopulated the earth is becoming and how many kids out there need parents.
People want to have their own flesh and bloods ruhnning round their houses and not other people's bastared.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Will You Do? by Damsal(f): 10:57pm On Aug 16, 2006
of course Fimmy would move on, but sores don't heal within hours. And about falling for someone just as much or even more than your ex. I find quite impossible i have tendencies to believe that for everyone there is only one person just like for Adam there was only Eve she was practically his rib. If u ever meet someone u like just as much as another or probably more, then you've probably just not met the right person.

Literature / Re: Looking For Movie Scripts For Nollywood by Damsal(f): 10:24am On Aug 16, 2006
I've got a couple of film scripts that i've written but i can't give you any of those cause i'll need to update them, but within a couple of days i can get to writting a new one, since i already have an idea for it.   I don't like to brag but i'm a pretty good writer and a very inventive one. So i'll get to writing it and i'll get back to you.

Oracle:

I don't get it fimmy?
how can there be only one person who can stop you from crying i don't think itz possible
what would be your reason to cry you're a man for Christ's sake
i think you have to give us the full details of the gist.

If itz your girlfriend, then there are many easy ways to handle it, infact itz the easiest thing to handle.

There can be just one person to cause u to switch emotions within seconds.
A couple of years ago when i was going through puberty and had the tendecy to take everything everyone said to me as offensive and get unnaturally upset. There was this guy that whenever i saw him all venom dissolved he just had that effect
on me, i could never remain angry in his presence. When u love someone so much u realise that when they hurt u it has the most effect because u love them and expect them to understand u more than anyone else.
I think that's what's up with fimmy

I think what he means is what is the funniest thing that happened on your first date (with your first boyfriend/girfriend. (If something funny did happen and u have had a first date).
Nairaland / General / Re: What Will You Do? by Damsal(f): 11:29am On Aug 14, 2006
You walk away. Clearly the person does not have your best intentions at heart, to initiate your crying in the first place.
don't know if i worded the sentence correctly

Poems For Review / Re: The Linda-Bashiru Story by Damsal(f): 2:51pm On Aug 13, 2006
The drama setting is really captivating and interesting, while reading the whole of 1b i could not stop smiling, i guess because of the discriptions you gave which for me is very essential in a story.
In the part of Esther and her man u refered to the guy as her husband which slightly confused while reading through but so far i'm really enjoying the story.
Pleasssssssssssssssssssssssssse post more  kiss. Thanks.
