Raymand:That doesn't make you nigerian, it just means u are african. Theses days what would make me a nigerian doesn't make me a nigerian anymore and that would have been my way of life by that i mean what i eat, the way i greet my parents and my cultural view of life. |

I don't know if they dream, it will aslo be hard to figure out what they dream about because if born blind then they have never seen or experienced the existence of anything. |

Yes he means here. Honey, for anyone to consider your script we need a detailed synopsis. |
TV/Movies / Re: Proposed Movie Script Needs Comments by Damsal(f): 1:33pm On Dec 27, 2006 |
I actually have to say that i like your script, there's something very usual about it especially since it's a scary film, but at the same time you still have a chance to surprise and frighten. I also have to disagree with Iice about the first line of your script i find it very gentle a contrast to whats coming ahead and the lines "i love it here" are so usual so everyday it's something anyone would say and that's what people have to learn to put in their scripts Reality. And not the usual nollywood "i'm going to America tomorrow" or "when would i be getting my five hundred thousand naira" (please get a life) . Using 'good morning' would have made it boring and bland it would have sounded like using once upon a time in the beginning of a story. I also have to admit i got really excited when i discovered that they were going to be figuring out a mystery (i usually get excited with things like that) but i like the idea of them doing something thoughout the film instead of them sitting down and talking like every other nigerian film. And the scary concept is different from the typical Nigerian film about witches which stops you from going to sleep at night. I do think you should lose the idea of bats it's not very nigerian i'm even wondering where you are going to get some from (it's not like you see them everyday). I think your story is really cool just do a little tighening up on it. |
TV/Movies / Re: Please Recommend Some Good Nigerian Movies by Damsal(f): 8:04pm On Dec 21, 2006 |
Bridesmaid was a really cool film Behind closed doors was also fab but it has three parts I also think games women play was great, has two parts but if you like sda, Omotola and Genevieve then you'll definitely love it. And if you speak yoruba then watch 'Owoblow' classic film, goes up to three parts but if you love guys playing bad and a little action with tonns of tears then you'll love it. |
Poems For Review / Re: 'Funky Patient': Screenplay For A Short Film by Damsal(f): 7:55pm On Dec 21, 2006 |
I actually found your story quite interesting, i just think it has some loose ends. This dude is said to be sick and the cause of hs sickness is the doctor, did he know her before he was admitted into the hospital or was he admited into the hospital and then he started to have the visions. Or did he have visions of her, develop an illness and then on being admitted into the hospital realise that the woman in his vsions is the doctor. You also do realise that doctors are not allowed to date their patients, right? I guess they could have a relationship but only on the basis that the doctors job is on the line especially when there's a possibility of sister Patience suspecting something.(by the way who calls nurse sister, it's so unprofessional) And then i do think sisi falls a little to quickly(you do know that girls front a lot, it's expected) and then even worse he's 18 i think she should restrain herself a little (in the circumstances a nigerian woman would not even bother with him check the romance section a woman in her 20's who still 'got it going on would definitely not fall so easily' I know the title Funky is supposed to be catchy, but it sounds crude, cause of two reasons Irisi's(strange name by the way)character does not sound so interesting (he's a patient forgoodness sake) and a man with such un pronouncable illness does not sound Funky. |
TV/Movies / Re: My Movie Writer/Director Journey by Damsal(f): 6:50pm On Dec 19, 2006 |
cool, . Seems really interesting i'd like to see what u got. Just remember to keep us posted it's been two days and you haven't given us anything yet. And to say Orikinla has already started searching for funds for your movie, guess you didn't tell him you were working on a minimal budget. (if he knew he'd probably have something to say about that.) |

Romance / Re: What Should I Do by Damsal(f): 5:42pm On Dec 19, 2006 |
Okay honey, i have to admit reading through your post was not easy halfway through i started to feel sorry and not for you but for myself, i guess if you read through it again you'll realise why. Now to your issue i don't really think there's much to say, she's offered to be just friends and there's nothing you can do about it, though it was wrong of her to lead you on. What's done is done. I guess next time you should be really upfront about yourself and what you want from a relationship and if the girl doesn't feel the same way then you know where to head. |

Romance / Re: My Fiancee Still Desires Her Ex, But Doesnt Want To Leave Me by Damsal(f): 8:58pm On Dec 08, 2006 |
Okay i guess i want to be like everyone and say that you are way too good for her and she is not worth your time but i can't say that casue though i feel that way no one is actually seeing the positive side to it. Gridlock: i did initially think that your fiancee was a tad out of way, untill i saw this post, you might not know this but there's actually something very daring about opposition and if a girl has to maintain a relationship wth a guy even when her parents are totally against it then there's probably more to it. She's either rebelling or just really likes ths guy i personally wouldn't advise you to mantain a relationship with her especially if she's going to marry you and spend the rest of her life regretting that decision. My advice would be for you to break of the engagement and allow her to date him. There's a saying that goes 'if you love something let it go if it doesn't come back it was never really yours if it does then, ' |

Hey hun, sorry bout your heart ache, i hope you meet someone who will be worth your time. But then again no one ever said the pathway to love was ever easy, you just got to keep trying that's what seperates the losers from the winner. The winners never quit trying. |

Literature / Re: Diaries Of The Puppet Master by Damsal(f): 7:43pm On Dec 03, 2006 |
Cool so far, it's very 'inviting' i almost drawn in by the lyrical way it's written not in simple prose and discription that many stories use also full of suspense. Seun:Do you know the reason why many stories are intriguing, it's because the writer lets you know only what he wants you to. It's called suspense. |

Literature / Re: The Other Side - Maro's Tale by Damsal(f): 8:14pm On Nov 29, 2006 |
for a first draft i have to admit I really think your story is fab. i like your intro of the characters, though i think you haven't done character development especially on Marco as he is the first character we are introduced to yet we are left hanging when it comes to depth of his identity. It's been really cool so far, i hope you intend on finishing it |

Religion / Re: What Is This World Turning Into? by Damsal(f): 10:28pm On Nov 23, 2006 |
Drusilla if Americans believe that that is their duty then i'm absolutely fine by that, i personally feel it's also my duty as an African. I just don't believe a person should point it out to another as to being their duty unless they wish so. eg. Nigerians shouting at Americans and telling them it's their duty to provided for them. If they don't wish to do so you can't inpose it on them, if they have a guilty conscience that alone should do it. and i am not being a spokes person i just don't believe you can inpose a duty on a person. I can't induce someone to give me money, as it would not come from the depth of their heart. |
Religion / Re: What Is This World Turning Into? by Damsal(f): 7:46pm On Nov 21, 2006 |
I find it quite wrong that you should jump into the conclusion that rich people should be the ones to shoulder poor people, i think it's quite an an amount of pressure for you to place on them. Just as i find it wrong for someone to say that richer countries (eg. America) should be the ones to help poorer continents, these big countries are in the position to and can assist them but it is not their duty to assume such a position. By the way how many poor people have you helped today. |
