Anna 8/10
Just like Red Sparrow and other femfatalle spy thrillers, anna is intriguing to watch. First an orphaned girl joins the KGB spends five years and decides to call it quit but not without several twists and turns that keeps me in a state of perplexity. If not for the timelime, i would have lost my way midway. Be that as it may, Anna was incredible, credits goes to Sasha Luss for doing a yeoman's job. This my first time of seeing her. At first i thought she was british because of her name. The story was kind of not straightforward. I would have preferred a linear plot instead of going back and forth. But its all good. Credits to support cast. My only grouse is with luke evans. He never sounded russian. And that reminds me, why can't americans allow russian roles played in their native tongue. Why must it be english all the time? The sad part is the actors don't get the accent well. That is why i like what Mel Gibson did in the passion of christ. He made sure all the dialogue was written in hebrew.

I hated that film. I just couldn't get past the myth of a skinny girl outmatching men twice her size in hand and gun combat without breaking a sweat. To make matters worse, they messed up the film's technology.

Watch Atomic Blonde if you want to see a film about a female spy in cold war era done right. The fight scenes are breathtakingly realistic.

Tom Cruise doing Tom Cruise things.

He's 60 years old but doesn't let it deter him from doing his own stunts. Good genes or immortal? shocked

Cougars are HOT women, usually not older than 50. The guy has a grandma fetish.

Cougar is sexy older woman between the age of 40/45 and 60.

A GILF is a sexy 60+ elderly woman.

The word you're looking for is MILF. A MILF is sexy woman not older than 45/50.

Stranger Things S4 is overrated.

For me it's 3>1>2>4

Don’t get me wrong, I am very much enjoying S4, but something seems off about it for me in some ways. Some tighter writing and removal of some characters would help out a lot. There are 4 different groups right now. There should be two (3 at most). The Suzie cheaper by the dozen subplot is completely useless, and the Jason subplot is going nowhere.

Volume 2 was... whelming.

Ending was terrible, few good moments but a very mediocre ending. Disappointing season overall.

It's still 3>1>2>4.

He can act even more when he is funny.
Do you want to tell me he didn't get even 1 chuckle out of you in any of the Sonic movies?

He was great in the Sonic movies ngl, the role suited him.

Nah! I'll die on this Carrey hill. The Mask, Liar Liar, Riddler in Batman Forever and then comes back to kill it as Robotnik, not once but twice. C'mon, give the man his flowers.

I grew up watching these movies you mentioned, but the thing is, his style of comedy just doesn't appeal to me anymore. It’s schoolboy humour, weird faces and impressions, nothing more.

Dumb and Dumber and Bruce Almighty are ace though.

Nah bruh Carrey is goated
He must make you laugh...even his non comedic roles are comedic to me.

His style of comedy is the obnoxious kind that 5 year old boys do to get attention, unfortunately I am no longer 5 years old.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is not a comedy and remains my favorite movie of his till date. He can act when he gets serious.

I wouldn't even put Ferrell with Carrey as comedians that appeal to children, seeing as most of Ferrell's works are for an older audience due to the raunchy humor and content.
Even at that Carrey has that cartoony humor on lock. Put some respeck on his name.

Anchorman and Step Brothers are my favorite Will Ferrell films, but that's about it. In all of his roles, he comes across as a gullible buffoon, which doesn't really work for me. Many comics, such as Kevin Hart, play themselves in their films, but they can still be good and have range. Will Ferrell either doesn't have that range or chooses not to use it.

As for Jim Carrey, brash and goofy and making funny faces does not necessarily equal funny. He sucks as a comic. Ironically, he's a much better actor when he plays non-comedic roles.

But you find Kevin Hart, Trevor Noah and Steve Harvey funny.

Kevin Hart is unironically funny although sometimes he goes over the top.

He was the highlight of the two Jumanji movies for me, especially part one.

And sometimes the hard work pays off and he earns a chuckle.

He was good in Step Brothers, but I attribute that to his chemistry with co-star John C. Reilly.

He's always playing a manchild, and his over-the-top comedy is so cringey that I can't believe I used to laugh at it as a teen.

After seeing better acts, an adult me realized that this guy and Jim Carrey are dumb comedians who only appeal to children and adults who are young at heart.

Now, hold your horses, I don't mean the bolded as an insult. It's fairly common for adults to retain their childish sense of humor and fancies. Sometimes I envy such people cos nothing would please me than to relax and watch Courage the Cowardly Dog rerun with the kids and enjoy it as much as they do.

Bradley Cooper and Matt Bomer on set of the Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro.

He's really gunning for the gold this time,he will do anything to snag that piece. Can AMPAS just give it to him already i.e if Netflix's lobbying game is top notch,I mean how many nominations does he have now? I'm pretty sure it's much more than Leo's

Fashion those days were horrendous though

Matt Bomer is Henry Cavill's doppelganger, for real. shocked

Depends on the movie. The more over the top he's allowed to be, the higher the chance he can get a laugh out of me. And the ridiculousness of the stills seems to suggest that.

Will Ferrell isn't funny jare. He tries too hard.

There are some iterations where the Mattel man has blonde hair like his gal but those are mostly customized for different customers. He reminds me of Freddie Prince Jr during his Scooby Doo days and was kinda my first pick for the role but Freddie is aging gracefully while Ryan has obviously had some work done so...... tongue

I won't even ask how you know this. It just seems so... obscure, like something you'd have to go out of your way to learn about... unless, it's within the realm of your hobby, like maybe, a you're doll enthusiast? grin

I want to be excited for this movie, but with each leaked image, my hopes are dwindling.

Despite her flawless start as a director, she may end up incurring a snag with 'Barbie'. She hasn't had an extensive directorial filmography to inspire such respect and adoration from y'all, so I'm befuddled by the glowing admiration. Even Auteurs have bad days.
Going by the stills, I'd say it's a big possibility.

But could be a misdirection...

You never know.

Another day, another obsession with alphabet people. Why are y'all so obsessed? You don't interact with people like this on day to day basis, so what's the point of the obsession?

People like us, who live in a country where it's legal to be gay or whatever, and interact with them on a daily basis, don't care half as much as you do. Even if we do, we keep our opinions/feelings to ourselves in order to avoid being doxxed and/or canceled.

Y'all should be grateful that you live in a country where being gay is illegal, and thus you don't have to interact with them. You should stop mimicking and importing the problems of other countries and making them your own. You have practically no reason to vent.

I kinda agree with you... it's not our problem, at least not yet.

That's why I avoid joining in the customary LGBTQ bashing.

Margot hasn't really been tested on her own and Gosling isn't exactly raking in hundreds of millions at the B.O...

Greta is an excellent director though so I'm confident even if this movie doesn't light up the B.O, it will be an amazing movie.. If it holds up to Greta's previous works and ends up doing numbers at the B.O, then it would be well deserved...

Is it just me or does Gosling have too much makeup on? And what's with the hair? I could have sworn Ken's hair is shades darker. The blond hair looks wrong on him somehow and his face looks like plastic.

Margot looks fine.

I hope Greta knows what she's doing. undecided
