As someone who’s bored to death of Marvel and DC, I have no idea why I love The Boys so much. This season has been phenomenal.

oyaskii: Have that not been the theme since S1? Why is it suddenly a problem now? at bolded.
The long episode was necessary becuz they didn't want to extend beyond S5, so they had just S4 and S5 to tie up everything and produce a finale and closure that sticks. This is just not true. The group were in synergy, working towards one goal, and even when they are separated, they are still working towards that one goal. The moving pieces are few, controlled and have a purpose. Everything goes to shit in Season 4 Vol. 1, where many pieces are no longer in synergy or working closely together. Instead of just one goal, there are multiple goals now. It just doesn't feel as well structured as previous seasons. It's a mess. The long episodes would be completely fine if they weren't super-stretched out fillers. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by DandeNumeruno(m): 9:23am On Jun 16, 2022 |
oyaskii: Season 4 writing is only trumped by S1. The Jason subplot was needed, and i think it won't even last that long going forward so i see no problem with it. The Duffer brothers have been writing minimal characters like this, so that the show is not just about the kids we know, Just like Bob in S2, the character wasn't going anywhere but it was needed in S2 and ties to the overall flow of the plot. Giving Suzie a proper screen time after her cameo in S3 to understand why she's a nerd with her family's background was needed too. I simply can't fault S4 Vol. 1. It's S1>S4>S3>S2 imo. The introduction of Bob was super necessary. He played two crucial roles towards the plot's advancement, the first of which resulted in the mind flayer possessing Will, and the second resulted in Joyce and co safely escaping the demagorgon-infested facility. Unlike Bob's, Suzie's and Jason's subplots are both getting in the way of the plot's advancement. The writing in general is been bogged down by two many moving pieces. The longer episodes are a drag. I like long episodes, but I believe they should be reserved for finales or pilots. With the unnecessary subplots and such, it makes the episodes tedious to watch. I'm hoping Vol. 2 will clean up most of the mess Vol. 1 made and finish strong, because the writing has been the weakest it's ever been since this show began. |

Stranger Things S4 is overrated.
For me it's 3>1>2>4
Don’t get me wrong, I am very much enjoying S4, but something seems off about it for me in some ways. Some tighter writing and removal of some characters would help out a lot. There are 4 different groups right now. There should be two (3 at most). The Suzie cheaper by the dozen subplot is completely useless, and the Jason subplot is going nowhere. |

Davidganna10: I am surprise most guys here just found stranger things. The show brought Netflix to limelight. Patiently waiting for season 4 vol. 2 on July 1. That's just not true. They had top shows like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Daredevil already streaming long before Stranger Things came out. |

Scanning the QR code on the sealed box is the quickest way to determine an original Samsung device. It should take you to a Samsung website that lists all of the specifications. |

Kolena: Certain factors will need to be taken into consideration when producing this film. For example, I'm wondering how his skin and hair change will be portrayed. I just hope it goes well, because MJ is almost like an historical figure. I imagine they will start from when he was black and gradually transition to when he turned white. Prosthetics and makeup will invariably play a huge role in all these, obviously. |

Nickshrapnel: I always thought he bleached the darker part of his skin to make it look even with the vitiligo part. Yes, he did. Nickshrapnel: To cast a white person will just be as ridiculous as Kanye asking Danny Mcbride to play him in a biopic You know ball. |

Superpower: Vitiligo doesn't turn a black man into a white man.He may have had that condition but it is obvious that he bleached his skin, changed his nose and hair.He did everything to look white. You missed the part where I said "he admitted to having plastic surgery done to aid the condition." In essence, he surgically bleached the darker parts of his skin to match the vitiligeous parts. He also did some work on his nose, chin and hair, cos if you're suddenly white, you've to look the part. He embraced his new looks cos why not? |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by DandeNumeruno(m): 2:18am On Jun 11, 2022 |
Kolena: My thought exactly... The director will also have to consult with his family, because they will have the final say on the production of the film. This will be one very tough production. Not really. Michael Jackson was a black man who had Vitiligo. There is no question about whether he was black or white because he was clearly black. Casting anyone other than a black man to play him would be as ridiculous as casting a black man to play Jack Chan in a biopic. |

blingxx: I wonder who will play mike .. either a black or white man , this will cause alot of issue on the internet tbh mj's life is confusing Michael Jackson was a black man who had a skin condition called Vitiligo. People assumed that he bleached his skin, but in reality, his skin lightened over time because his immune system killed his melanocytes (cells that produce skin pigment). He went public with the news in an Oprah interview and admitted to having plastic surgery done to aid the condition. So basically, his physical transition from black to white wasn't voluntary, it was completely out of his control. It'd be a travesty if someone other than a black man portrays him in a biopic. |
