Glorious (2022)

3.5/5

I went in blind and had a blast. Jason Stackhouse and JK Simmons gave strong performances. The plot twist had me shook and wrapped things up nicely.

Samaritan (2022)

3/5

The plot is generic, but the action scenes are decent. The plot twist, in my opinion, was poorly handled. I figured out who he was about halfway through the movie. They gave away far too many details leading up to the reveal.

Overall, it's a generic superhero film that doesn't require too much thought.

House of the motherfvcking Dragon

Phenomenal episode. Everything about it reminds me of peak GoT.

Random thoughts...

- The plot is moving quickly, not messing around... I love it.
- Matt Smith is killing it in this role. Daemon personified.
- The direction that Mysaria is heading in bothers me. She's the only one who has been a bit one-dimensional so far.
- I really like how Viserys is being written. This guy is obviously a moron_ and consistently making wrong decisions, but you can see how he arrived at those decisions, they are just all the wrong ones.
- This show's cinematography is incredible. The entire scene at Dragonstone had me grinning from ear to ear.
- The opening theme is the GoT theme, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- Rhaenyra is proving her smarts. I hope the older Rhaenyra is good because the younger version played by Milly Alcock is one of the best parts of the show. she's doing a nice job with the role.
- Loved the Mexican standoff with dragons.

Overall, another excellent episode with excellent buildup! I can't wait to see the dragons in action in the coming episodes.

If you read the article, it's a total shitshow, lol. Something tells me there won't be many more Olivia Wilde directed films in the future.

Can WBD go one film without a controversy? At this point, I'm convinced someone put a curse on WBD.

I always knew HOTD was gonna deliver.
It's so nice to finally have a true "next Game of Thrones" after how bad The Witcher and Wheel of Time were in terms of production values and writing. HBO is truly the gold standard of premium television.

abduleez1:
Couldn't wait for the series that I didn't know when I used 4hrs reading up about the lore on the individual popular Dragons on an FB fan page on Thursday.
Massive time spent on Dreamfyre, Sunfyre, Balerion, Grey Ghost, Sheapstealer and The Cannibal, Vhagar, Caraxes.
That was when I knew it was time to start the book. Downloaded Fire and Blood and started some reading.
I'd go in completely blind if I were you. That ship had obviously sailed for me, but I kind of envy fans who have no idea what's coming.

However, if you must read Fire and Blood, you should only read the parts that are relevant to the show, beginning with chapter *Heirs of the Dragon - A Question of Succession*. That should suffice for HotD. If you start now, you could be finished by Monday if you read quickly.

At the risk of overstating things, I strongly feel HotD is headed for greatness. Awesome first episode. I'm going to delight in watching Daemon Targarean this season, Matt Smith is made for the part. The young Australian actress portraying young Rhaenyra Targaryen is also doing the character justice. I can't wait to see more.

You don't seem to be intelligent, bro. I've already stated that I'm not interested in incest. I'm as liberal as they come, but I can't condone you molesting your sister or mother, or eating human flesh for that matter. I'm not a fetish racist, but you're going way too far. Stick to wanking off to granny porn. It's a disgusting habit, but it causes no harm.

Dude is free to jack off to vicky, but he should have the common sense to limit his insults to me. I can't help it if he was in an incestuous relationship with his mum because his dad suddenly started fking farm animals and neglecting the old bag and she had to turn to micro dick joe to pick up the slack
Man, you're a fetish racist. Remember the adage, "once you go old, you never go back." Solider Boy and OhBritannia can relate. Allow the guy to have his kink in peace joor.

this is how you show how small your iq is

an intelligent person would have said farm implement - would would have translated to hoe

please keep me out of your granny incest fetish

small wonder you watch below 480p, you can only get it off to old women, but you need the wrinkles and folds to be as blurred as possible

such a shame you were serially molested in your childhood and now have a macron style fetish and a lack of confidence around women of your age

google macron as i am sure that also went over the empty vacuous cavern between your ears

oya take - dont cum all over your screen. its in 480p for your wan-king pleasure
Don't kink shame. Old broads are like fine wine. The older they get, the more delicious, but the drier. Just ask the resident GILF chaser, OhBritannia, he knows a thing or two about wanking it to grandmas.

Bruh Taabe had little or no knowledge about the predator , his strength and weakness like other animals he has killed in the forest imagine if the guy had prep time .. remember we talking about someone that was given the title "war chief" in his tribe
We're on the same wavelength. smiley

Nickshrapnel:
Without the invincibility, I still think the predator would have won against Taabe, he had the strength advantage. But he did put up a good fight.
We'll never know, but Taabe was slicing it up with every move, and with each slice, it grew weaker. I guess it realized it's screwed if the duel continued, so going cloaked mode was born of desperation, as it was the only way it could kill Taabe.

The movie is good tbh it's the first movie this year I actually watched twice , this guy is the main hero for me dude was so good at hunting he knows when the enemy have the upper hand "this is as far as i go" he couldn't feel the predators presence anymore and he didn't even have prep time like the sister cooldude was og abeg
Taabe was a total badass. He smoked the predator and would have triumphed if the predator hadn't cheated.

I like the the predator in prey have less Advanced technology than the previous one it's makes sense tho
My impression is that they purposefully dumbed down the technology in order to make the fight more fair.

Another angle to consider is that the Predator isn't a fully fledged warrior, so it stands to reason that he won't have access to all of the technology until he earns it.

ShaqFu:
AVP predators aren't adults. They were teenagers who came to Earth for their rite of passage to be blooded, which of course is the hunting and killing of aliens (xenomorph) this was told in the movie. It was the very reason they weren't allowed to carry their plasma caster in the first place, they had to earn the rite to carry them.

Scar, Celtic and Chopper the adolescent predators were naive. Their behaviour in handling the aliens showed it. Scar was the only one who actually killed aliens, while the others failed and got killed.

The rite of passage which prove they were teenagers was told by Sebastian to Lex where she exclaimed in awe to the fact that they (predators) were teenagers.

I can but say the behaviour shown by that predator in Prey goes against what predators stand for. Predators don't live tracks behind. Even the one in Predator 2, that hunted in the city never left any track. If not for the technology available at the time, it can't be traced, talkless of learning it's habits.
AVP is garbage anyways. Until Prey (2022), the last decent Predator film had Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.

I like how Prey (2022) approached the idea of a young Predator trying to complete a rite of passage while being inexperienced. It started by killing and skinning a snake before realizing it wasn't the apex predator, then it killed a wolf and took the skull as a trophy, but later it met, fought, and killed a Bear, and finally encountered man, where the fun truly began.

It's a new take on a stagnating franchise, and I hope it's the start of something great.
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by DandeNumeruno(m): 8:22pm On Aug 11, 2022
ShaqFu:
same can be said with the predators in AVP. They were teenagers yet they killed with skill and not as reckless as this predator in Prey. Though their lack of experience was present as it resulted in the death of two of them, still you can't compare their skill to that of this predator.

If you put this predator against any alien, it will lose, woefully I might add.

I still can't get my head around why they change its weapons.
AVP's predators are adults and experienced. They've visited Earth before. They knew their craft, they knew their target, they were well-organized, they had a code, and they were well-versed in human behavior. In fact, AVP revealed that the Predators use Earth as a sort of training/hunting ground where they breed and hunt the Xenomorphs (aliens).

In comparison, the Predator in Prey is very young, inexperienced, and possesses a teenage angst that the ones in AVP do not. If he had lived, he would have improved and returned to Earth more experienced and mature.

there's obviously something very different about this predator. It leaves tracks, has no sense of honour, fights dirty and like you said, very reckless.
It's a teenage predator. It was literally its first time on Earth, and it had no idea who the planet's apex predator is, so it was learning. However, being a teen warrior, it is a reckless predator who enjoys the kill more than the hunt.

Prey (2022)

4/5

What a lovely film. After years of mediocrity, I'm glad to finally see a decent Predator film. This is a much-needed boost for the struggling franchise.

One of my favorite things about it is how Naru's development mirrors that of the Predator, but in reverse. Throughout the film, we see her observe, adapt, learn, and improve as a hunter, but we also see the Predator become increasingly reckless and sloppy.

All of the fight scenes were great, especially that cool single-shot scene between Naru and the French. The Taabe v Predator fight scene deserves a shout too. Taabe put up a great fight... who knows what would have happened if the predator hadn't chickened out and turned invisible.

Outside of the action, there's still plenty to enjoy. Beautiful cinematography and an amazing score.

It's not a perfect film, but it hit almost every note I was hoping for. I really enjoyed it.

this is why I hate watching Netflix film very incoherent movie. Waste of cast and annoying plot.
Netflix consistently undervalues good scripts, which contributes exponentially to the mediocre quality of their films. Unfortunately, a good script isn't necessary for attracting viewers, which is all that matters to Netflix. Their high-budget films exist solely to be must-sees. Massive star power ensures this.

Save your spleen, it's just a movie.
"It's just a movie," is another way of saying "it's my opinion." It's an excuse people use when they can't justify their position, but still want to eat their cake and have it. Using bland assertions as a shield for criticism isn't good enough.

How much did you get it in Nigeria bro? Did you order??
It's impossible to preorder one from Nigeria because Valve only ships to the UK, US, and EU. Your best bet is to buy an off-the-shelf Deck from Ebay/Amazon.

Using eBay carries some risk. Just make sure you research their page thoroughly before you proceed.

The 64GB variant is around #200k, so the black market price should be around 2-3 times that amount. The 512GB variant is more expensive, so the black market price is most likely in the millions.

Prime rubbish. It's that taking itself seriously like some good Spy thriller that annoys me about the movie.
The pretense was just annoying. If it was just marketed as a n action film, I wouldn't have bothered with its tropes. Fast and Furious franchise even becomes better and more sensible than this.
The film felt like it was written by an AI with the logic to match.

Six was literally handcuffed to a railing in the middle of town. A half-competent covert wet op team could take him out discreetly without anyone noticing. But not these guys, they'd rather get into a massive shootout with the cops and swat teams with miniguns for no reason while the target flees.

And the dialogue... oh my goodness. Imagine killing cops, civilians, and destroying properties worth millions of dollars in a foreign country, then getting chastised for being incompetent and reckless, then a random guy shows up on the tracker and tells you he's on Six's trail, and you smugly say, "What I do can't be taught." As in, WTF?! So we're supposed to believe Lloyd is still good at being a psychopathic free lance wet op because one of his thirty hirelings survived a botched public hit?! Wow!

Don't even get me started on the Tamil assassin who added nothing to the plot.
