. I can boast of knowing 14 out of the 17 u mentioned and being a lover of 12. Boogey is arguably the best lyricist in the naija rap game presently and I'm happy for his last year headies nomination. Ric hassani(igbo boy Wey dey bear hausa name, lol) has managed to do so much for himself even as an indie artist. Nonso amadi is just in another league. I don't know how he did it but he managed to find his way into the hearts of good music loving Nigerians with his song 'tonight'. Some Nigerians are beginning to open their eyes to the true purpose of music but that ain't enough. Go out there and support these guys, most of their shows ain't expensive and buy their music online too. That way you'll encourage people like me who's soon to hit the studio again. My own style of music sef doesn't sound Nigerian at all. When I listen to Rockstar by post Malone and Gucci gang,I'm like :Nigerians love these songs but if it were to have been Nigerians that sang such(even better),will they love them the same? They'll prolly say they're trying to sound foreign when in reality that's just how they sound. Most of them don't even know what Cardi B said in bodak yellow yet they love it.

Yeah, that's the hypocrisy of Nigerians. They'd follow Jon Bellion and Khalid on social media and help hype them, but will turn blind eyes and deaf ears to Brymo and Bez. See? I don't blame guys who started out dope, but had to water down. e.g Praise. Money must be made. Like Dremo said, they are all trying to fix up their bank account.

All of you that are complaining, how many dope Nigerian singers/ rappers do you know or support? Folks don't practise what they preach anymore. Do you know Our own Blaqbones, a rapper that launched his career on Nairaland here? Do you know rappers like Boogey, Eclipse, Luluraps, AQ, Mojeed, Ozzy B (Santi), e.t.c? To you know singers like Aramide, Sir Dauda, Johnny Drille, Tomi Thomas, Tay Iwar, Nonso Amadi, Odunsi, Ric Hassani, Morell, Funbi, Aduke, and several other dope underground artistes? No! They remain underground because you lots don't appreciate nor hype good music. Y'all prefer pangolo music. Stop complaining. We the few little know these good musicians and appreciate them. Follow them on social media to encourage them. You are what you listen to. Music is a taste. Going through your playlist can give a slight insight into your personality.

By the way, I'm a music producer and a singer. I learnt everything all by myself. You can do it too. Visit my blog in my signature below for tutorials to get you started. I'll be dropping a new philosophical song on here before the week runs out, hope you'll support good music then.

Nice one bross, Music making they say is a project, you have to put lots into it to make it perfect, unfortunately most upcoming artists these days don't understand this, some even promote songs that are not mixed and mastered by a pro. Thanks for this insightful post
Yea. Music business is serious business. It costs money to make music too, but dedication and passion can determine how far artistes will go with their music.

Music/Radio / 6 Stages Of Music Production: A Successful Music Career Guide by Dandy1(m): 7:44am On Nov 08, 2017
In this article I will be highlighting the 6 stages in the process of music production. Music as a career and its entire production process should be an organized affair. This is because music business is a serious business, as much as it can also be fun. The basic 6 stages of music production from idea conception to the final product flows down as follows:

Stage 1: Composition

This is the songwriting stage. The stage where you think up melody ideas and fitting lyrics to match. It is also the stage where you figure out which types of musical instruments or texture of synths will suit the song. Of course instrument types can often be dictated by the music genre, but who says you can't defy the rules and get creative with some weird combinations. Men! You may even create your own revolutional style.

As musicians, we all have different ways of approaching song composition. Some might complete a whole song off hand with the whole idea built from scratch to finish all in their head, while others might have to put pen to paper. We all are unique. The end result is what matters most. So do whatever works for you, because this stage is the foundation that will determine how great your song will end up.

Stage 2: Rehearsal
The importance of this stage cannot be overemphasized. I mean, you have to be hundred percent ready for a smooth delivery before hitting the studios for recording. That is if you do not want to get on the sound engineer or producer's nerves over there. Moreover, without proper rehearsal, your music might not turn out as good as you envisaged. Practise every vocal and instrumental performance over and over again till it all feels perfect. In this stage, you can even change up some parts of the afore-composed song in order to make the rendition smoother and flawless. So take your rehearsals serious. Perfect every melody, pitch, diction, and lyrics before hitting the studio.

Stage 3: Recording

This is where the die is cast. At this stage, there is no two ways about it. What you have is what you will give, and what you give is what you will get. Here, your diligence or otherwise in the two earlier stages will show. Some greenhorn musicians might get a little nervous and even get a cold feet on their first recording session. I want you to know this feeling is normal and you should just get over it. Music is fun and emotional. Whatever the mood of your song is, make sure it is well portrayed in your performance.

The recording process itself matters too. Where you are recording, how skilled the producer or sound engineer is, and maybe the gears you will be recording with, all matter. As a home studio user, unlike the big commercial studios you might be limited to some extent when it comes to resources. But with diligence and good enough skills and experience, you can surely get the best recording you can. Proper microphone placement, dynamic 'accentuations', proper gainstaging, e.t.c are needed skill sets in this case.

Stage 4: Mixing

As home studio enthusiasts, this is the stage we all revere. This stage is important so much because it can really transform and enhance a good recording into a great final music. Note the use of "good" in the previous sentence? This emphasizes the famous saying "you can't polish a turd". Your song has to be good to some extent before you enhance it with mixing. You should also mind the fact that poor mixing can also mar your songs. Do not think because you just learnt about a certain effect plugin on gearslutz, so you can start slapping it all across your mixer channels expecting some magic. No! You really have to learn the ropes, or just employ the professionalism of a good mixing engineer to make your song awesome.

Stage 5 : Mastering

As a single song, this is the stage where you get your perfectly mixed song to the industry standard loudness level. In doing this, you aim to make it as loud as its commercial counterparts in the given genre. As a project, it is the stage where your songs are compiled into a body of work. All the tracks are suitably arranged with generic loudness level in form a mixtape, L.P or E.P album for commercial release. You can also do this yourself if you have the required skill set. If not, you will have to give the job to a mastering engineer.

Stage 6 : Publishing

I know you must be wondering how this is a part of music production process. I am just looking at it from an executive music producer's viewpoint. Since you will be your own executive producer in this case, you have to see reasons with me. This stage follows the economics principle which states "production is not complete until the goods/services reach the final consumers”. After all, what is the usefulness of a good music that never gets listened to? So this is the stage where you get your music out there either via selling or sharing. Thanks to social media and digital music platforms like iTunes, Spotify and Google play, and our own MTN musicplus. This task is easier nowadays.

There you have them people. Master these steps diligently, and you will be on your way to having a successful music career. If you are a music career enthusiast about to start out, read Start music production: basic budget equipment needed. It will help you start out on the right foot, especially as a potential home studio owner. Happy music making!.

My first child is one. It's exactly one year ago my pretty daughter was born. I remember vividly all that happened that day. It was a mixture of happiness an sadness. A bitter sweet feeling. What a twist. I created a thread back then pouring out my feelings: https://www.nairaland.com/3347531/bitter-true-story-childs-delivery
Today, the the sadness and bitterness is long gone. Our daughter gives all the happiness we could desire in a child. So troublesome and energetic as you can see in the pictures below.
Though as humans we desire what could have been, but it's best we appreciate what we have. Many people have nothing. While some are facing frustrations and sadness on what they have. Thus, I'm very grateful to God as a person that has absolute joy and no troubles in my life. Though we all keep striving for a better life, nothing beats a happy peaceful life with only the basic little worries.
To people going through whatever bitterness at the moment- it's only for a short while. Just do the best you can to get out of the situation. Time will definitely heal the pain. Happy birthday to you BooBoo! (Na she alone dey bear the name now. Lol)

. boss can someone learn music production himself is it possible?

Very possible bro. Out of my love for music, I started learning beat making and music production generally on my own about 2years ago. I can confidently tell you I make professional sounding music presently. I even own my own a budget Studio setup right now and I've produced cool tunes for a handful of local acts in my environment. I am taking it serious as a profession.

In case you're wondering, I don't even play any musical instrument seamlessly. I just click in tunes on FL studio's piano roll. I just ordered a midi keyboard I'm yet to receive to make my workflow faster though. Plus I just started a music production tutoring site to help interested enthusiasts like me learn by themselves just last week. Presently it has just 3 articles. But I'd be posting at least 1 article in 2 days from now on. I'll even be posting 2 tonight. check my signature and visit my blog often for tips.

@OP You are just getting started. I appreciate your confidence in sharing your work. I couldn't do that while starting out. I'm too much of a perfectionist I guess. You have a lot more work to do. Passion and experience is the key to this game. Keep it up and you'll be there soon. Last night I was listening to some tunes I made about a year ago and was laughing and cringing at the same time. I'm far better now. You'll be at this point someday soon too if you keep it up. One love!

Corruption, corruption has been the setback not religion. Europe the most developed continent is predominantly christian. America the world power is predominantly christian and was built on christian values.

Nowadays every tom, dick and harry think they can bash religion. If you're going to bash religion then you must be specific on which one you're bashing because Christianity has never been known for setback.

Didn't say religions are the main culprits, it's the way our people go about it. You are right, I should have put "religious fanaticism" instead of ordinary religion. I wasn't particularly condemning any religion either, but how people neglect their potential capabilities seeking solution in religion. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are developed places as well, so you can't say Christianity is the only religion known for civil advancements. It's our people's ignorance which their religious fanaticism makes worse that's the problem

You can bet they did. We are still suffering the consequences and will keep doing so till at least the next two centuries. By then, the ignorant Africans should all have phased out. Politics / Religious dogmatism, The Nigerian Masses Bane by Dandy1(m): 12:41pm On May 24, 2017
The so called two leading world religions both from the west and the middle east have been our greatest bane and setback. People trade their mental abilities for religious dogmatism. Funny what stupid things you'll see even the so called highly learned elites (professors, doctors, graduates...) doing all in the name of foreign religions.
Even the ones that introduced us to these regions will be amazed at how much we've bastardized it.
Rather than using their mental and physical abilities on worthwhile activities, people waste away their potentials on religion trying to find easier escape route and solace. Rather than taking practical steps like ; executing ideas, working hard, tasking the political leaders who their fates actually lie with, they prefer to keep hoping and seeking help from the religion which the whites exploited them with. The same religions our religious and political leaders still capitalise on to milk people dry. While 70% of the westerners are beginning to see it for what it actually is (Human ideology).
Our people live in fear of the unknown. They fail to see God manifests in all we see all around us everyday (nature, space, time, negatives, positives, e.t.c.) They fail to see life as what it is - uncertain, random. They want to "pray" to change things. How do we appreciate life in the absence of death? How do we appreciate good in the absence of bad?. Nature follows no rules! What will be will be. Good people die and pass through travails, while bad people live long and might never get punished for for their sins but enjoy till death. Forget what they say about karma, his seven generations to come may actually keep enjoying the GOOD fruit of his BAD ways. We only wish things should follow some rules with our human convictions. NO MAN knows God's ways and what lies beyond life. If anyone claims he knows, he lies. Or is just self deluded.
It's a random and circumstantial world. Life is the free gift we all have. Choices is the rule we live by, and conscience is the inherent guidance by which we all make our numerous choices. All that should matter is having a clean conscience by doing "good" often, and avoiding "bad" as much as we can. Love sums it all up. If only the whole world can share love, then we won't be needing the religious heaven. We will have our heaven here and now. But negatives and positives are part of life. Let's live right doing positive practical things rather than wanting to understand God more than "he" wants us to. Only then can we have a better country and world at large. Remember - YOLO!
DhandyDope.

A British politician and former military officer, Eric Stuart Joyce has condoled with Nigeria over the reported death of their president, Muhammadu Buhari.

Eric Joyce, who is also a former member of parliament for Falkirk West and Falkirk sent the condolence via his Twitter handle, @EricJoyce.

Eric Joyce wrote, “Very sad to learn, hear of the death of President Buhari, who I campaigned for. Thoughts with his wife @AishaBuhari and family.

He went on, “The President of one of the world’s largest and sensitive country died today [Friday] in London today. In our main news bulletins, not a word.

In another tweet yesterday morning, the former parliamentarian added, “UK is curiously uninterested in whether Nigerian president, reportedly in London is dead or alive.

“Nigeria is one of the most important countries of the world. Its by far the largest country in Africa; it’s the fastest growing economy there by a long chalk ….

“I do stuff in Africa, the extractive industries and Scotland. Previous a UK politician and soldier. Some good moments and some not so good.”

Religion / Re: Why Did God "Harden" Pharaoh's Heart To To Prolong Israelites Suffering? by Dandy1(m): 9:30pm On Oct 23, 2016
Daniel1990:
"These extracts from the bible portray God as one who just wants to show off his might in this instance using Pharaoh as his scape goat. The verses obviously support the fact of his omniscient attribute, but make it seem he just let things happen for his amusement.
If he really cared so much for the Israelites as is claimed, why delay their freedom by "hardening" Pharaoh's heart thus increasing their period of suffering?"

Will you say that a judge who sent a criminal to jail did it to show his might? Why do you correct your child by punishing him when he goes wrong? Is it for personal amusement? Is it because of hatred? No, it is for love! Same with God.

A judge sending a criminal to jail is doing it within laid down jurisdiction according to human laws. He didn't create the criminal or deliberately made him commit a crime so he could jail him. He doesn't have any control over the criminal's actions in any way. So it is safe to say your comparison of these two cases does not hold much stance. So is your father-child analogy.

Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

The above is from your cited bible verse. All it does is further buttress the point that he seem to be doing it for self glorification. You mean as the almighty God that created everything, people don't already know the extent of his capability so he needed to show them how powerful he is? It makes it sound as if he need our awe to make himself feel powerful. After all he made us and all of our emotions.
