The writers told u plainly and in g rr Martins view that it was not to potray any heroes and there are non in the real world. Most heroes end up being villians as was the case of Dany with the death of the second dragon and lossing her maid whose last wish was to burn them all. Also it is to note that people get influenced and often tire out or become predictable . It's is normal for ppl to change and act in strange ways. In all the movie including the so called season 8 was not wack as u claimed just because it didn't give u an expected mind thrilling fantasy end.

Its not about the expected or unexpected ending. It is about the maturity of the story. Have you ever had an 8 year old tell you a story? That is how the last seasons turned out. Even G. R.R Martins was disappointed.

I just finished watching all 8 seasons of game of thrones. The series was thrilling I must confess. But I must in all honesty condemn the last season. It was wack! As someone who likes to get into the head of script writers, I think the writers did a very terrible job. From character inconsistency, to changing of characters totally, to letting their preference for some characters influence their writing. They subsidized common sense so as to look unpredictable. When they ask you to draw something unique, you don’t draw a lion eating grass, lions don’t eat grass!
Inconsistent characters
For a movie to appear real, characters have to be consistent. For example, in the series “Empire” when Andre’s wife compared Lucious to her ex-husband, I knew exactly what he was going to say to her, and he said exactly that.
Tyrion was my favourite character. Whenever he opened his mouth to speak, I expect something that will make my head spin. But after season four when the original author of the story left the writing crew, the imp became on ordinary person and later a total fool. When he served as hand to Dany, he was no longer the smart guy, he was just an ordinary man who cared about the well-being of the people. Imagine Tyrion going to negotiate a truce with his Cercei!
Another was Jamie Lanistar. He was a bad boy, he became a good guy and later a guy madly in love and later a bad guy. The character was just all over the place. And then there was Dani Tagearyean. She was a liberator, a person who cared for the commons, whose ambition was to break the cycle of 1% lording over 99%. But in order to justify eliminating her at the end, they changed her in a week to a horrible person. It was funny how Tyrion was trying to explain to Lord Varys that she was always a horrible person. When you have to explain a movie in a movie, it means you have not done a good job.
now for the flaws in the story
Why did the night king want to kill Bran? Because Bran was the memory of the world (lie,), without our memories we are like the dead (another lie). The explanation given by Sam was total bull shit but many people just agreed to it without thinking. They made it look as if Bran died, the whole humans will lose their memory of just drop dead or something. I could have suggested a better reason for them. Like there was something that Bran could do to destroy the Knight king instantly and it was a matter of time before he discovered it so the Knight king needed him to be dead so that he wouldn’t discover it.
Why did the knight king have to kill Bran by himself? Anybody could kill the cripple. His army of the dead could have killed him, any of his knight walkers could have killed him. The knight king could have one the war if he just sat on his horse somewhere and kept raising the dead to continue fighting till everyone was dead, unless the army of the living found a way to get to him. But like I said, wack story.
What did Dani do after her allies were captured (the lady from Dorne and the Grejoy lady)? Nothing! In real situations, a conqueror will do something to free rescue his allies.
What did the dragon do after his mother was killed? He destroyed the iron throne. That’s all!
What did the dothraki blood riders do after their Khaleesi was killed? They were just looking like locozade.
And finally, the way it ended was disappointing for most. The world works to create a balance, I a ying-yang manner. Bad is balanced with good. Evil is punished and good is rewarded. That’s what gives humans satisfaction. That is why most movies end that way. The good guy always wins, or at least has a level of victory. In game of thrones, it seems the writers had soft spot for the character of Cercei Lanistar. She did all the evil imaginable as she pleased and always got away with it. At the end, she was rewarded with a death not by the sword or in the hands of anyone. She died in the hands of her lover. Jon snow was banished from the civilized world to live out the rest of his days in sorrow. He sacrificed more than any other character in that series. At the end of the day, they could have just broken up the 7 kingdoms to go their individual paths. If Sana could request independence for the North, Lory Aryn could also have requested same for the Vale and Uarah Grejoy for the iron islands and also Dorne.
Game of thrones could have been the greatest series ever produced. But they missed the chance!
I wish I could unwatch it. I guess I will read the book. Please anybody who knows where I can get the books from should point me to it
