So many things happening in our recent christian life as compared to how it used to be in the past generations.looking at first the church and its format and their ways of doing things totally different from what it used to be.on sundays you could imagine yourself thinking of what to wear that could match atleast with the least peoples appearance in the church which apparently you can't afford it thereby giving a genuine excuse that it was cloths that kept you at home(weak xtian).you could imagine yourself thinking of how much you suppose to carry with you to church atleast to not sit back at when they call on the tithers or offerings which apparently you got no money thereby giving an excuse(weak xtian)..last sunday I didn't goto church because I didn't have transport(church distance)..last sunday I didn't goto church because all my clothes and shoes where dirty(pompous xtian)..last sunday pastor oshimole fought with deacon maicon becus of welfare offering so I'm not going to church again(xtian judges)..hardly will you see any recent church take last in their body structure, they have a stanby generator worth great megawatt, big edifice and greater members,,outside the churche is many cars and members flourishing.....NOW!!! These people complaining of no clothes, money and whatever that makes them not to appear in church is it the RICH people that is oppressing them? OR how churches ARE nw a days or they just don't wana play a role of a real xtian??...somebody said without money you can't please God bt the bible says it is very hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God..I don tire for this thing ooo |
According to The Nation, they want to exchange the female students kidnapped in April for 18 key sect members currently in detention. Some disagreements appeared last night however as the Nigerian authorities wanted Boko Haram to release all the 219 girls missing for almost 5 months, while the latter agreed to free only 30. It has been gathered from the sources that the group directed a list of its commanders and the names of students to be swapped to the Civil Rights Congress President, Comrade Shehu Sani. The emergence of swap possibility is believed to have appeared after there were held secret talks between a government delegation and a Boko Haram commander identified as Umar, who is being detained in Kuje Prison in Abuja. The source was quoted saying: “Some top officials met with Umar about two weeks ago in Kuje Prison to discuss issues connected to the fate of the Chibok girls. We heard some inmates sharing this information that the sect might swap the girls with Umar and others. But all the details are still secret because Umar keeps to himself a lot.” Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau Another source claimed the negotiations had been successful adding that the sides had agreed on the deal. “The delegation had a fruitful negotiation with Umar, who is one of the highly-rated commanders of Boko Haram. The group assured Umar of a swap and he has been looking forward to it. The sect has given a list of 18 of its members to be swapped with the abducted Chibok girls.” Some security operatives have allegedly warned the government that the release of 30 girls was a dangerous move when there was “no full assurance that all the girls will be released”. One of the sources said: “So, technically, the release of 30 girls was unacceptable to the government based on the advice of some security agents.” However another source added: “You can see why Nigerians should stop blaming Boko Haram from continuously keeping these girls in captivity. What is of concern now is to get even these 30 girls out to prove to the whole world that they are alive.” Sani when contacted refused to provide any comment on the issue last night. It would be recalled that Sani, who has experience of direct negotiations with Boko Haram, shortly after the abduction predicted that the insurgents might use the girls as means of releasing their comrades-prisoners rather than kill the hostages. Soon the militants’ leader Abubakar Shekau released the video showing the students and provided the option to swap the girls for Boko Haram prisoners. Sani was among those who urged the authorities to accept the deal. The “swap” saga was surrounded by numerous controversies, with some sources saying that the government made a U-turn when the deal was close to being secured and other sources insisted that the deal was stopped by the insurgents. More than 200 female students were abducted on April 14. Despite the interference on international powers, human rights activists, military forces and social campaigners, the majority of the girls are still missing. |
“In 2008, Libya demanded compensation from Italy for its colonization. The whole world thought it was a joke! How would a third world country dare to request to be compensated? Even if the compensation was for invasion of its territory, humiliation of people through slavery, torture, and stealing of its natural resources and heritage? “Before our very eyes, Libya got Italy to its knees. Italy signed an agreement with Libya. Italy admitted that its colonization was wrong and will never be repeated. Italy promised not to attack the Libyan territory by land, air, or sea. Italy also agreed to provide Libya with $250 million a year in compensation over a duration of 20 years, and to build hospitals for the Libyan people. Italy, which was a kingdom during the Fascist regime and made rich contributions to civilsation, should be commended for this achievement. “What of Nigeria? It’s been over 50 years since Great Britain willingly returned sovereignty to the people of Nigeria, thus granting us independence. Yet, the Federal Government of Nigeria have not deemed it fit to demand compensation. No compensation from a country which invaded our territory. Britain stole about 90% of our artifacts, usurped our mineral resources, forced our men and women into labour and slavery. Britain humiliated us by subjecting and reducing us into mere second class-citizens in our own land, polluting, and relegating our cultural values to the background. “The time is ripe for Nigeria to follow in Libya’s footsteps. It’s time, as a matter of utmost national importance, to seek compensation duly from the British government. “Why would a third world country demand compensation? So that there will be no more colonization. So that large and powerful countries will not colonize, knowing that they will have to pay compensation. Those countries that harmed other peoples during the colonial era should pay compensation for the damages and sufferings they’ve inflicted. “What Africa needs is compensation, not aid. We should not be seen as poor and beggars. The ‘super powers’ came to Africa to steal our heritage. They stole our values and our freedom. They subjected us to mental and physical slavery and torture. They stole our gold and other mineral resources, and now they call us poor? No, we aren’t poor. They are the ones who made us poor in the first place. Now it is time for us to demand that all that was stolen and unlawfully taken from us be returned without further delay. “Nigeria does not need aid from Britain or any other ‘super power’. What we need is due compensation.” The colonial period in Nigeria lasted from 1900 to 1960. In 1900, Southern and Northern Nigeria Protectorates were formed. 14 years later, the two protectorates were unified into the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria. Nigeria gained independence on October 1, 1960. |

This is based upon reports that the House of Representatives has asked its Committee on Education to take another look at the resumption date announced for private and public schools in the country. According to a report published by Thisday online, the decision of the lawmakers is necessitated by growing concerns among the public, especially parents and guardians of students, over the recent decision by the education authorities to reopen schools for the 2014/2015 academic session on Monday, September 22, 2014 despite the threat of the Ebola Virus Disease which has killed seven people in Nigeria. The cult members were detained on August 21 in Kuso village, Lavun LGA, Nigerian Tribune reports. The group included an elderly woman identified as Fatima. One Mohammed handed over his son Umar to his mother (Umar’s grandmother) Fatima to look after the boy pending father’s arrival from the journey within the state. Meanwhile, the main suspect Fatima allegedly handed over the boy to another suspect named Tetengi with the prospective to kill the 9-year-old and eat his flesh in the group of 3. Tetengi slaughtered Umar and roasted his body then shared it with Fatima and the Aminatu, the third cultist. The father came back from trip and did not find his child at his mother’s house. Fatima told him that his boy had disappeared shortly after Mohammed left adding that she had not seen him since. Following the incident, Mohammed invited an Islamic scholar to shed the light on strange disappearance, a police source said, adding that the prayer allowed it to be revealed that Fatima was lying. According to Crime & Security, the case was immediately reported to the police by the family, following which the operatives started investigation. As soon as the suspected cultists were arrested, all 3 confessed to the crime, with one of them saying that human’s flesh was tastier than that of an animal . All the suspects are soon to face charges. |
