All first and second generation universities still have their pharmacists teaching medical students pharmacology.

In all, I wish I know you and most importantly, I wish you never get to become a medical Doctor in life.

I know this my wish up there may look harsh to some neutrals. But if we factor in the number of people you will make a widow, widower, orphans etc with this your mindset then.... Because it is obvious that somebody like you can never have a good medical team which is very necessary for successful medical procedures in the hospital. Unfortunately, innocent patients are always the victims of your irresponsibilities.

It is really a shame!

BTW, path and pharm you typed up there means pathology and pharmacology. Mind you, as a medical student, the pharmacology you'll study is just like a pinch of a heap compared to what pharmacy students study. Check Guinness book of records for the toughest between pharmacy and medicine!

I did Pharmacology for 20months during Path/Pharm.
I was taught by renowned professors in Pharmacy. . .my viva lecturer was a Professor of Pharmacy and a former DVC from a federal university.

Medical students only do Pharmacology and toxicology. . .which is a department in Pharmacy.
You do so much more than Pharmacology when you're a Pharmacy student.

There's absolutely no need for all this unnecessary comparisms

The department of pharmacology in the faculty of basic medical sciences is relatively new. Prior to the broth of these departments, pharmacists teach medical students and even up till this moment, there are still pharmacists who teach medical students although the number has been cut down.

there is no big deal about path/pharm. So stop making it seem like one huge mountain. How many medical students can draw the structure of a drug? Every course is tough in their own way. You haven't done pharmacy, so don't assume. You got a lot of time to prepare for path/pharm usually 12-18months while they use only 3-4months to prepare for their semester courses. FYI, I wrote path/pharm some time back, so don't assume I don't know what I'm saying.

My family suffered from one of these doctors of death March 22nd of this year when my younger sister died of what may hv been avoidable death. When my sister got sick she was first diagnosed with gastric ulcer, then twisted intestines, then enlarged heart,then kidney failure, and finally stomach cancer. All these took about 7 months of carrying out one test after another followed by prescription & treatment for each supposedly ailment at an alarming cost both financially & emotionally to the family. My sister finally succumbed to her illness leaving behind 3 young boys & devastated family. Our hospitals are just a place where people go to die not places to get well. How can Nigerian doctors know what they're doing when it takes just 5yrs to go through medical school that don't even hv up to date medical textbooks not to talk of medical equipment that will aid in diagnosing sicknesses. In America it takes about 11yrs to qualify as a medical doctor & more yrs of practice to fo into a specialized field. In Nigeria all doctors cures every sicknesses.
