PoliticsRe: Why Do We Rate Ibo As Second Class Citezen In There Country? by DanKan0: 6:52am On Jan 29, 2012
sweet_gala:
The biggest problem with igbo people for me is how offensive they can get. Always attacking the Yoruba and ijaw/ss ethnic groups, and claiming to be the only good thing to come out of Nigeria, Heralding Ojukwu(a man's who's integrity I respect but whose decision to instigate a war that has divided us as a nation and people so long and till eternity) as the greatest Nigerian for mutiny and treason.

The two great leaders the igbo have given us as a nation ojukwu and Nnamdi Azikiwe both departed the country at trying times when the pot got too hot.
I respect my igbo brothers and friends but would not stand idle as they denounce the work and effort of people from all corners of this great country, from different ethnic groups, who wake up everyday to work and contribute their quota under difficult circumstances.

The last time I checked the igbo have been well and adequately represented in all governments since the amalgamation of this land, they provided our first president, they had military governors during the times of obj, babangida, Abacha, Abubaka some of whom controlled states outside SE. They have their senators in ABJ sharing in the dividends of a corrupt nation, choppin 20million a month, they have ministers who are inefficient and neglectful of their duties , they have governors who are looting the treasury and LG chairmen who are ineffective.

So answer me this what do they have that other parts of the country do not have be it positive or negative. The igbo brethren better come to understand that we are all being duped by leaders who don't see igbo , hausa or Yoruba but willing ignorant fools , ready to help.

To the OP, the igbo community I find are treated like second class citizens because they have assumed that role and worn the cloak that fits, I've noticed a certain inferiority complex among igbo people painfully trying to compete and prove to the world that they are above the rest when a competition has not been declared. Should anything done by a nigerian not be for the benefit of ALL NIGERIANS north south east and west. Abiola and Saro wiwa amongst others did not die for their respective ethnic groups but for NIGERIANS as a collective.

So all the bigots here chanting  igbo are the "best at everything" and the Yoruba that apparently "never venture outside the south west" and the Hausa/fulani that was "born to rule" better come to understand that our cumulative actions have brought us so far our collective votes have put irresponsible presidents, senators, governors , legislators, LG chairmen etc into a position of power to exploit our resources and divert what should be for all of us , our elated leaders from the past have undertaken actions or inactions to undermine our future from Awolowo to tafawa Balewa to ojokwu just to mention a few.

God bless Nigeria
This is the thing that makes me laugh. Like Northen elite can rule Nigeria without consent and cooperation with the South. It doesnt even make sense. All you hear is 'born to rule'.

One day its 'core north' at fault. Ask them who 'core north' is they say Hausa/Fulani, is IBB or Yakubu Gowon Hausa/Fulani? Other times its the whole Northern region but you hear people saying lets form alliance with MiddleBelt take on the 'born to rule' Hausa/fulani or 'core north'. The next day its jus muslims but it wasnt a muslim that defeated Briafa was it?

I dey laugh o pick n choose abi?  cool

What is the lie in what Sanusi wrote? Because I cant see it,

The bit I dont agree with is that this Boko Haram is due to 'poverty'. Every sane person knows there are sponsors sponsoring the violence.

Jonathan’s government is worse than Pol Pot of
Cambodia.

This is the evidence you seek - of Christians killing witches (even children) right here in Nigeria
If you are truly a prof, you should know that

I hate Boko Haram passionately - they kill muslims too - but there is no way anyone can logically equate their actions with Islam
If you are a prof, you can do the arithmetic. Just assume that Nigeria has just 10m muslims, if they were as brutal as some of you guys declare, do you think there will be peace anywhere in Nigeria? Again, think about it
lol. key word 'logically' clealry some dont have any logic at all.

For me, I have come to realise that in Nigeria most things that would normally be considered conspiracy theories , are usually not far from the truth. Because the Nigerian Government is all about conspiring to deceive the masses, so that they could continue to bleed us dry.
Leave the olodos that cant see o. Same thing UK + USA govts do to their citizens.

Aint nobody going to tell me that this Boko Haram is the same one from 2009. This one is proffesional and sponsored hiding under 'Boko' name.

@Sam_Ikenna

So its only Core North that kills your people abi? If so why do you inisist on living there? After all there 3 million Igbo's in Kano alone is it by force? You think if we wanted to kill all Igbo's in Kano it cant be done? Does Boko Haram only kill Igbos? Is Boko Haram the only group thats shoots and kills in Nigeria? Boko Haram has killed not even 1000 so far in a country of over 150 million. How many have died due to armed robbery? so Hausa/Fulani = Boko Haram abi? KKK= Oyinbo ? IRA= all Irish people abi? Mexican Cartels= all Mexicans?

What do my people want? Go tell your brother GEJ to organise SNC and ask everyman want he wants. But I doubt hed be willing. N1billion Food allowance is to nice to give up.  cool See how much money his state gets with all that 'education' I would have thought youd be far past us 'Almajaris' with an abundance of job opportunities etc etc. lol. But then maybe its Hausa/Fulani leaders in South as well who knows lol.

Who said GEJ cant lead is he not the leader now? In nigeria everyman can chop and GEJ sure is chopping  tongue Did you hear Hausa/fulani say why dont MEND let Yaradua lead?

Your leaders see our leaders corruption and we see your leaders corruption they are all corrupt. One is not better than the other. They come together to organise and rig elections cause they know none of them would be in power otherwise. Then people wonder where the money is going. Then again its Hausa/Fulani that steals all the oil money that would go into building of a 2nd Niger bridge. lol

Resource control . . . imposing islam on the country . . . what is the difference? Each of these groups made demands on the whole nation, pretending they could lay claim to one thing to another and inflict pain on the innocent if their demands were not met. They are both terrorist groups and since we resorted to paying terrorists to appease them, it makes sense that someone suggest we continue that practice even here.

Some days the North is one and all muslims other days its 'core north' other days they say Middle Belt is Igbo other days you hear them worrying about Tiv + Berom looking for alliance the next day its hausa/fulani only etc etc

I dey laugh o make up your mind and holla your governors for seperation if it bothers you. It would probably be 2 months before well have to send in our 'Almajari' peacekeepers in to stop you killing yourselves.  cool cool

At least 50 people were killed in clashes between rival ethnic groups in the state of Ebonyi in south-eastern Nigeria.

Police and security forces have been sent to the area after the violence flared up following a long-running land dispute between the Ezza and Ezilo peoples.

Khartoum — The Sudanese capital Khartoum was preoccupied on Friday by the wedding ceremony of Chad's President Idriss Deby, and daughter of Sudan's supporter of APC militia leader, Musa Hilal, which took place at a top hotel and was attended by a host of dignitaries led by President Omer al-Bashir.

The polygamous Chadian leader became engaged to Hilal's daughter, Amani, during his most recent visit to Khartoum in November. According to press reports, Deby paid a $26 million dowry of which $25 million was paid to Musa Hilal and the rest to his daughter in the form of gold and jewellery.

Hilal is the poster boy of the fearsome supporter of APC Arab militias which were mobilised by the Sudanese government to quell an insurgency that broke out in Sudan's western region of Darfur in 2003.

That counter-insurgency campaign, which mainly targeted African ethnic groups on account of their affiliation to the insurgents, has led to the death of approximately 300,000 people and the displacement of more than 2.7 million, according to United Nation figures.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) imposed travel and financial sanctions on Hilal and three other individuals in April 2006. However, unlike other individuals including Sudan's president, he is not wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Deby was not present during the wedding ceremony which took place at Rotana Hotel on Africa Street in Khartoum.

Security was increased at the five-star hotel from the early in the morning, with more than 100 police personnel involved, sources told Sudan Tribune.

The hotels guests were barred from getting close to the swimming pool area which witnessed the celebrations following the contract of the marriage, in which president Bashir represented the bride while Deby was represented by a family relative named Abdo Ongi.

The wedding was originally scheduled to take place on 10 January but was postponed due to travel commitment of president Bashir and Deby.

Sudan Tribune has learned that the ceremony was attended by 400 VIPs including Bashir and the head of Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) General Mohamed Atta. Also present at the wedding was the chief of the United Nations - African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), the peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Ibrahim Gambari.

Deby belongs to Al-Zagawa ethnic group, whose members straddle eastern Chad and western Sudan. His relationship with Bashir's regime, which helped his rise to power in 1990, has been characterised by tension and mutual accusations of supporting rebel groups.

In 2009, however, the two countries ended their protracted hostilities and signed a deal that saw Deby ceasing his support for Darfur rebel groups and Khartoum expelling their Chadian counterparts.

Deby, in his 50's, has been married several times and has at least a dozen children. The most famous of his wives is Hinda, who is known as Chad's First Lady. Born in 1977, she belongs to the Arab branch of Al-Zagawa ethnic group.

The new wife, Amani, is a new university graduate in her 20's. She denies rumours that she's been forced to marry Deby.

"No one has forced me into this marriage, we are not in the Stone Age," she told the local press following reports of her engagement.

Similarly, Hilal denied charges that he sold his daughter for the money because of the age gap. He told the press that there are no political motives behind the marriage. "We in Darfur and peripheral areas intermingle and intermarry, that's the norm of life in these areas".

GEJ has no intrest in any SNC nor do any of the other owners of Nigeria.

All you can do is vote at the polls or revolution.
