I think someone should lend a voice to this unrealistic waiting period for a visa appointment. Please, what is the way forward to fasten this shameful challenge?

My resumption date is 1st of August and the appointment booking site is showing a waiting period of 14 - 16 months. I have never seen anything as frustrating as this. And to worsen the situation, the confirmation email clearly stated that one should refrain from inquiries in the meantime (a perfect synonym for I don't care).

Someone more experienced should kindly advice on a possible alternative instead of waiting a whole year for a visa appointment (Employer go don move on be that naa).

I heard several horror stories about the people at the Ausländerbehörde in particular and the City Hall in general, that made me not look forward to going there. The scariest one being how they will not attend to you if you do not speak German.

It all turned out to be false as they were nothing but helpful and accommodating. Maybe it is unique to Mannheim, but I doubt that.

If you have a valid driver’s license from Nigeria, found out it is valid here for the first 6 months after which you have to start the process of transferring or acquiring a new one. Again, maybe this varies by city.

The spouse in germany will receive a letter from the Alien authorities to forward some documents.Once that is done,its a matter of a week or two to be issued visa if there is no issue.

My wife was contacted 3 weeks ago that here document verification was done and that she should resubmit spinsterhood and change of name with the right names. She submitted it the next day. We are yet to get any feedback from the embassy. We have sent mails to the embassy but no response. Please how long should the remaining process take.

This very long wait is killing.

Is there a way to find out the status of family reunion visa. My wife and kids went for interview Sept 2018, document verification was done dec 2018/jan 2019. The lawyer verification has been done since jan 2019 but we are yet to get feedback from the embassy.

I have a blue card and have been in germany since august 2018.

We have sent numerous mails to the embassy but there has been no response.

But has anyone gotten his or her visa since after lawyer visit and again I asked some people that got their visa and most of them did not get any verification complete mail so my question is does everybody get the mail before getting visa?

Thats what w3 call AM....meaning visa approved.

I submitted it via their email. The date on it shows October 2018 when he went to renew his residence last year October because his old one was expiring that month and he was also going for unbefristet he was given a temporary permit extension till March 2019(friction certificate) which I submitted at the embassy when I went for interview and now his unbfriestet is out so that was my reason for writing the embassy to know if I could submit this current one which they replied yes. So I don't understand bearing date it was issued because the date there is October last year why he got it February 2019


My opinion,
your informing the embassy about your husband's change of status has no effect and wouldn't in my opinion compromise anything because the alien office will contact your husband at some point and he'll submit his current status also bear in mind that his unbefristet will bear the date it was issued.

I also think it'll be wise not to bombard the embassy with emails as regards the lawyer's coming at this early stage. Submit your husband's new status as its stated in the email you received.

I'll advise you to be more patient. they'll write to you soon.
I know the waiting period is terrible but be please patient.

i applied for a family reunion visa last year august 2018 at the german embassy Lagos.. This year January on the 9th, the embassy sent me an email that my document verification has been completed and my identity has been established.. So, i replied them and ask what is the next step,(that is a week after i saw their email) so they replied me that they are waiting for the aliens authority to give them feedback first then they will get back to me..
Last week friday on 15th of Feb 2019, my dad went to the aliens authority stuttgart germany to find out why the delay, so they searched my name on their system and find out that they haven't sent my file to the aliens authority yet.. i have been sending the german consulate Lagos mail, but they are not replying.. what should i do?? please someone should guide me on what to do next, i will be glad.. Thanks
