Yoast: I was expecting a pull back for Dangote sugar at 40. But it seems the market has other ideas. Still watching Just relax, pull back go still happen, the merger process is not a small thing, so all this happening is just more of speculations for now, maybe in response to the board meeting of Nascon scheduled for Monday, 28th August. The scheme of the merger is required, then sec approval, then shareholders meeting to ractify the merger, before the date of delisting is announced. |

ImperialCovfefe: I have a somewhat interesting enquiry.
Folks here have discussed, at length, the process of obtaining NGN loans from asset management companies and merchant banks based on your NGN assets (e.g., FGN bonds and NGN equities) domiciled with them.
Considering the above, is it possible to get NGN loans but based on USD assets (e.g., Eurobond funds)? Meristem Wealth Management ltd, will give you naira loan to the tune of 2/3 of the worth of your total dollar equivalent, which must be domiciled with them. |

CeeJeckydivah: Meristem customer service is the most ridiculous and non chalant CS I've ever experienced.
I can't login my meritrade since last week I've been calm ,& trying to discuss with them on how to get the details/, password recovery. The same lady keeps giving me the same answers everyday as if she couldn't care less. So I can't be sent my login details whenever i request for them? Haba why? I mean put yourself in someone's position.
I had some money in their wealthbuddy platform. That one sef to process withdrawal na war.
They said to deposit before i get login details. I did but till today nothing.
Well na them sabi. I never get their time now.
Pls can anyone recommend a good equities broker i can trade with. Good interface and reliant customer service. Is cordros good? Also their minimum deposit for trading.
Sorry to derail the thread.
Thanks. Kindly send a mail to contact@meristemng.com, I am sure your issues will be looked into. |

The meeting will be held this Friday, 28th July 2023. I believe it will be good for Dangsugar holders, judging by your analysis and balance book size. emmanuelewumi: Keep an eye on the board meetings of Dangote Sugar and NASCON slated for this month |

Pa Emma, sequel to this proposed Merger arrangement for Dangote foods, which is better to allign with, Nascon or Sugar? Based on your analysis, on their Q1 result, it appears that Sugar is 9 times bigger than Nascon, so what amount of units of shares do you think they can offer to Sugar shareholders in the new company and what's your projection as regards the introductory price for Dangote Foods?
The assessment of the 9times bigger is based on Shareholders funds and PBT.
Also sir OGG and madam Mercy can also assist in this discussion. |

Frangel: June is end of Q2 and H1. Portfolio managers and firms invested in shares will prepare financials. Profits earned. Provisions made for carrying values, up or down, referencing prices as at June 30.
Trade cautiously, even though the market generally is upbeat, going into Q3 and probably Q4.
Just my thoughts, anyways. Expected, cash out now and enter back in July oooo!!!!! |

Well, as a trader, if he had sold when the price got to N26, he would have been far better off, with a gain of N15m, that is if he bought the shares @N17, last October. onegentleguy: With this we can do a rough estimate to determine the vol of GTBANK you hold in your portfolio.
A quick math...
Assuming that V is the vol you hold in GTB, then V x N2.80 (ref: YE, 2022 final div cash flow)= GDA (Gross dividend amount) paid.
Let GDA= y Then y--0.1y= N4,250,086.04 (Note that 0.1y connotes 10% WHT on the value of y) So 0.9y= N4,250,086.04 Hence y= N4,250,086.04/0.9= N4,722,317.82222
Therefore y (GDA) which is your Gross div amount= N4,722,317.82222.
But V x N2.80= y (GDA) So V= N4,722,317.82222/2.80= 1,686,542 unit approximately. ...while you may have bought some of your equity stake in GT earlier, this gives us a clue of your holding.
I,686,542 unit of GTBANK. ...now that's quite a lot!
I dare say that you have built for yourself a great source of passive income... especially if you also hold similar stakes in other 1st tier lenders and/or blue-chip companies.
Do enjoy your dividend but try not to get intoxicated.
Kudos bro! |
