All the money in the world can't fix baldness, trust me. If so people like Trump, Bruce Willis etc would have cultivated a new crop of tresses grin. Meanwhile, it's weird about William cos his dad's hair is ok, and his mom had good hair. So it must be all the stress on his shoulder as a young monarch who'll one day be king. He can't even pick a hot chick to marry cheesy. Don't you just want to pity the poor fella?
Good point. But I thought they had hair transplant procesures where they'd transfer butt hair/back hair or something to your head  grin

His chick isn't bad, imo.
CelebritiesRe: African Beauty That Turned Down Lil Wayne. by DapoBear(m): 10:53pm On Nov 16, 2010
Yeah, Wayne is an ugly dude.

Both of those girls are hot, but I think I'm partial to Ms Union. Something about her is just. . .

CelebritiesRe: Why The American Wannabes? by DapoBear(m): 10:43pm On Nov 16, 2010
Usher is not the worst person to copy off of though, he is extremely talented and popular. Being the Nigerian Usher twins is not the worst thing in the world smiley
CelebritiesRe: Why The American Wannabes? by DapoBear(m): 10:41pm On Nov 16, 2010
They completely ripped off that one Usher song. But aside from that, I think their style is pretty good. It really has broad appeal.
CelebritiesRe: Eva Longoria And Tony Parker To Divorce by DapoBear(op): 10:40pm On Nov 16, 2010
I think career stuff is also playing a role. She wants to be in NYC to help her career. He signed an extension with the San Antonio Spurs, so will be there for a while.

So let us not make TP out to be the villain here wink
CelebritiesRe: Eva Longoria And Tony Parker To Divorce by DapoBear(op): 10:35pm On Nov 16, 2010
You have to remember how much older Eva is than TP, though. She is like 35, he is like 28 or 29.
CelebritiesRe: Prince William Set To Marry Kate Middleton. Royal Wedding On The Way by DapoBear(m): 10:32pm On Nov 16, 2010
shocked

William prematurely balding. He is wealthy enough to get that fixed, is he not? Or does he not care about having hair, lol
CelebritiesRe: Eva Longoria And Tony Parker To Divorce by DapoBear(op): 10:27pm On Nov 16, 2010
It is funny though, fans of both sides think their hero can do better.

On basketball sites, they think Tony Parker can get a much hotter gf/wife, and I think Eva fans think she can do better too, lol.

Dapo I feel sorry if a foul language has been used on you. But the message is very clear-We are Igbo but in the South-South. My people in Ahoada fought on Biafran side and has always maintained our Igbo identity.
It isn't a big deal, tbh. But it seems a bit moronic to feign outrage when you already know someone's position, as chyz does; we've discussed this at least twice before. Either moronic or just dishonest.

Personally I'm pro self-determination. People should be able to vote and decide who then want to join up with. But obviously Nigeria as a whole is not going to feel this same way.

Now you are the one beating about the bush and going round in circles. Dude, stop your penchant to generalize.
I shall stop generalizing and assuming that all here can read and comprehend without everything being broken down for them. Obviously that was not a good assumption to make.

How is it a black sunday? they were breaking the law, they got caught
Eh, some of these people have families, kids in school, wives, etc. It isn't as easy as you make it out to be. Imagine a man being deported and then being separated from his kids who are citizens, for example. Would be nice if we could just say, "he broke the law, screw him", but it affects more than just him.

BusinessRe: Nigeria, Russia Partner On Nuclear Project by DapoBear(m): 9:56pm On Nov 16, 2010
^-- I don't have a problem with nuclear energy personally. I just think that we could generate enough electricity through more conventional means.

Also, disposal of nuclear waste is still an issue to be considered.

Finally, I thought the reactors in Nigeria were for research only, not power generation, right?
PoliticsRe: Black Sunday For Nigerians In London As Immigration Nabs Illegal Immigrants by DapoBear(m): 9:51pm On Nov 16, 2010
Well, rather than cherrypicking, let's look at the comments that preceded it:
DapoBear:
Yep. Keep your nose clean, don't break any laws (well, you'll kind of have to break laws a bit to get a SSN and a job), pay your taxes, etc and you'll be fine here.
Your response:
igbobuigbo:
Spoken like a ''true'' Nigerian. Remember this is cyberspace.
Mine:
DapoBear:
Agreed with the first statement; like most Nigerians I'm pragmatic smiley

Not sure of the significance of your second statement.
So it appears you interpreted the above to mean that (A) I'm a ssn forger myself (B) I claim that most Nigerians are ssn forgers. Correct me if I am wrong in this guess about how you interpreted things. Hopefully you can see how the thrust might be different.

chyz:
Your comments about Biafra, Rivers, and SE definitely shows you are ignorant to the diversity and history of the two regions. Most yoruba's i know and have met are like that although I blame nigeria for that for the most part.

Yea try not to do that next time.Try a little research i find out what tribes biafra consisted of and area. Also, if you want to refer to igbo try not to single it the the 5 states ok?
My initial comment wasn't really about ethnicity, tribes, etc, though. Just about which regions the Nigerian gov't (and likely common people in Nigeria outside of those regions) would prefer to keep, and relative valuations of them. I'm not placing any moral judgement, agreeing or disagreeing, just stating my understanding of their positions.

Now look deep into what you just wrote preferably the second sentence and see why i said you have a parasitic mentality. Look Deep.

Reread what you have written so far then ask yourself again why i called u parasitic, at least that's what your comments imply, i.e. "WE ARE NOT LETTING RIVERS GO BECAUSE WE NEED TO FEED OUR BELE!". You were not explain that initially go back and read. I guess you can't see why non-SE Igbos are offended by your comments.smh.
It was an explanation, not agreement. I can understand how some might think this just greed. But you and I have actually discussed this several times before, so you should already know my personal position on the matter. . .

Just in case it isn't clear, my own position is probably very different from your average guy outside of the SS or SE. But that is not what the OP was asking, was it? He didn't ask for DapoBear's opinion, but more the opinion of those outside of the SS and SE regions. That is what I tried to convey.
PoliticsRe: Black Sunday For Nigerians In London As Immigration Nabs Illegal Immigrants by DapoBear(m): 9:14pm On Nov 16, 2010
igbobuigbo:
You said most and I did note that. Pls reread my last post. You do not have an incentive to talk about yourself in light of a fake SSN forger, but you do have to talk so about most (as you put it) other Nigerians. Now, who are those you know constituting the most? You should be able to sustain your claim.
Err, no. You've again misread things. I am not claiming that ALL Nigerians in the US are "fake SSN forger" (this is YOUR term, not mine.) Many immigrate here legally through the lottery, educational visas, etc. But there are a goodly number who immigrate illegally. I have no clue what the statistics are, but I think many would agree that it is a large fraction. And of this large fraction, another large fraction obtains papers one way or another. If you choose to interpret this as "fake SSN forger" (again, your term, not mine), it is up to you.

Those are the facts on the ground, though. Now, if your criticism is that I don't know how big this fraction is, then I'll concede that specific point (but only that point, no other.)

chyz:
I swear yorubas should stay out of SS and SE business.
What does this post even have to do with Yoruba? OP asked a question about "why", and I offered one explanation. How does offering this explanation constitute meddling in SS and SE business?

What is your definition of a biafran and what tribes make up Biafra?
I used Biafra as shorthand for the 5 states of the SE region. Let me not use that term against lest it cause confusion, I'll just say SE.

Your second sentence even contradicts what you've been arguing about the whole time. Wouldn't nigeria stongly prefer not to loose any states?
Of course, it is obvious that Nigeria (the federal gov't itself, that is) would prefer not to lose ANY territory. But some territory is more valuable and essential than others.

Isn't that why we are discussing this topic in the first place? You parasitic mentality is starting to rear its head, im glad the OP is seeing this.
Lol, my parasitic mentality? So if I explain why X happens in a country, I'm also an advocate of X, and want X to continue happening? You can reason a bit better than that, I hope.

igbobuigbo:
And here you are online maligning all Nigerians in the USA as fake SSN makers with your senseless over generalizations. I did remind you this was cyber, no?
Who said ALL Nigerians in the usa do this? A lot of them do not. But a lot also do. You've got to learn to read a bit better, this is the second time you've completely misread one of my posts.

And if you have read and still not understood, simply ask yourself, "Is this person likely to be maligning and rubbishing a group of people that includes HIMSELF?"
PoliticsRe: Nigeria And Biafra Rep. (why Is Nigeria Not Letting Go?) by DapoBear(m): 8:30pm On Nov 16, 2010
What deception is there? Would the Biafrans not strongly prefer if Rivers state joins them? Answer honestly.

At the same time, would the remainder of Nigeria strongly prefer not to lose Rivers state?

I don't see how this is even controversial.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria And Biafra Rep. (why Is Nigeria Not Letting Go?) by DapoBear(m): 8:21pm On Nov 16, 2010
Eh, insults aren't necessary to convey your perspective or disagreement with someone else.

I've stated my perspective, you seem to disagree with part or all of it. Let's just leave it at that w/o the name-calling.

igbobuigbo:
I see that you are given to making blatant over-generalizations, or near so. Did you do a fake SSN,  and did anyone you know did?
No real incentive for me to discuss my personal affairs online. You can draw your own conclusions, it should be pretty obvious, heh. Or even think I'm talking out of my @$$ if you like, no skin off my back.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria And Biafra Rep. (why Is Nigeria Not Letting Go?) by DapoBear(m): 8:05pm On Nov 16, 2010
I don't think anyone will be too upset if it is just the 5 SE states alone which go to form Biafra. Problem is, most Biafrans want to carry the SS with them.
PoliticsRe: Black Sunday For Nigerians In London As Immigration Nabs Illegal Immigrants by DapoBear(m): 7:51pm On Nov 16, 2010
igbobuigbo:
What are Nigerians pragmatic in doing? That was you characterization of them when I tasked you on the ease with which you talked about illegal immigrants breaking the law to obtain a SSN.
Ah, they are pragmatic in obtaining fake SSNs and using them to work, despite it being technically illegal. I'm not necessarily advocating any of this stuff btw, but I'm just pointing out that people do what they have to do to survive.

And realistically, it isn't clear how much of a problem the US gov't truly has with this (again, so long as you aren't committing any felonies or major crimes here.)
