igbobuigbo:What exactly is your question? Speak plainly rather than beating around the bush. |
igbobuigbo:Agreed with the first statement; like most Nigerians I'm pragmatic ![]() Not sure of the significance of your second statement. |
Omenani:Subsidized by whom? The state, or federal gov't? Keep in mind that the northern states already get enormous amounts of money from the feds. Not anybody's fault that they aren't using these funds to uplift their people. |
nethacker: ![]() manmustwac:Yep. People gotta do what they got to do to survive and make it in life. Cannot really begrudge someone for living illegally in the US when Shell, Exxon-Mobil, etc are part of the reason Nigeria is a messed up country. If they want to make money off of Nigeria, then they shouldn't cry if Nigerians make money off of them. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. |
igbobuigbo:I'm simply praising the excellent attitude of certain posters here, not attacking anyone else. Surely no one can be offended by that. |
This is always a tough sort of thing to answer without data or whatever, it is just hearsay. But with that said, I've noticed we do pretty well. Not just among Nigerians, but among all types of women. I see too many married couples or dating couples here in the US where the man in Yoruba and the woman is something else (usually Igbo, AA, or white.) And it isn't as if the girls are scrubs either, some of these chicks are phenomenal. If Igbo/other Nigerian, will be very pretty. If AA, a prototypical long-haired redbone. If white, some sort of leggy blonde volleyball chick with a great body. Who knows what the reason is, though. I've noticed here in the US that we do a very good job of fitting into all cultures. We know how to make white people, black people, and Nigerians feel comfortable around us. Maybe this ability translates into attracting women? I don't know. Sometimes you just count your blessings without questioning why you have them ![]() With all that said, we have love for Yoruba girls too. Just the pressure when dating a Yoruba girl is more My parents get too into it and emotionally invested when it is a Yoruba girl they like. I don't necessarily want that sort of pressure at this stage in my life. |
wow. |
lol |
You probably think a lot worse about your body than men do. Regarding scars and stuff, cocoa butter and time will heal them. Main thing you need to do is to get some self-confidence in yourself. Perhaps counseling would be useful. Regarding armpits, who cares? I've never cared personally myself, and I doubt most guys do. Your armpits can be blue for all I care, it won't affect your attractiveness. Anyway, I've been there before in my life, self-doubt and insecurity is something pretty much everyone deals with at some point in their lives. Just know that you are not alone. |
TewMuch:A good observation about the responses of the Yoruba here. Notice nobody accusing anyone else of tribalism, witch hunt, racism, etc. |
jay bee:Err, the most harsh provisions of the Arizona law have been temporarily blocked by the US Department of Justice. I.e., the federal gov't itself doesn't like this Arizona law and is trying to take it down: http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/28/arizona.immigration.law/index.html?hpt=T2 In the worst case, if the harsh provisions pass in that state, you still have plenty of forewarning and can make alternative plans. It isn't by force that you move to Arizona; there are 49 other states you can choose to move to where Arizona law doesn't apply. Plenty of Nigerians w/o papers in Texas, Maryland, California, New York, Chicago, etc. |
tpia@:Mexicans? Who on earth goes after mexicans? Dude who mows my parents lawn is almost certainly an illegal Mexican; his English is almost non-existent. Look, in America, police are not in charge of immigration. Immigration is handled by the federal gov't, and a very specific branch thereof. So even if you somehow get stopped by a policeman for running a red light/jaywalking/public intoxication or other small minor offenses, there is no chance of you getting deported or anything. Basically, as long as you don't commit any felonies, you'll be fine here, even as an illegal. Most immigrants here who get in trouble do so because they abuse the leniency here. They'll want to do 419, sell cocaine or drugs, etc. |
Odunnu:Yep. Keep your nose clean, don't break any laws (well, you'll kind of have to break laws a bit to get a SSN and a job), pay your taxes, etc and you'll be fine here. Best country in the world for immigrants, imo. |
![]() I have to say, if you want to move illegally to a country and have a choice, pick the US. Nobody will come after you to deport you here, as long as you obey the laws and don't get in trouble. |
She is pretty decent, but not quite hot enough to be miss ghana, imo. Plenty of women from that country more attractive than her. |
Wow, awesome. |
She isn't bad looking, imo. Me personally, talent + above average beauty >>> ravishing beauty. And is very talented, it seems. |
Women don't seem to value physical beauty as much as men do. At least, this is my theory. The "vice versa" part I don't agree with. |

^-- Pretty nice technology. Thanks for the links. |
That this country cannot generate electricity for itself is an absolute disgrace ![]() |
Beaf:I'd like Ekiti to do this. I wonder what the electricity consumption of my state is. Constant power supply would give us a huge economic advantage. Can you provide a link or more background info to these off the shelf reactors? Name of the company, technology used, etc? It is worth taking out a loan to buy that, I think. . . |
Kilode?!:Lol, this had me rollin |
KnowAll:That is fine. But we don't want citizens in the habit of choosing who they vote for based upon what a religious leader says. This leads to a mumu society. |
kcjazz:In a United Nations sanctioned secession, not only would that Igbo man keep his property, but if he is a resident of Lagos he'd have to be offered citizenship in any new state that contains Lagos. Not sure how dual citizenship and things like that would work out, though; maybe he'd be forced to choose between SW citizenship and Biafran, I dunno how this aspect works. What was done in the 60s during a civil war is not the same as what would happen today in a peaceful separation. I can understand fear of losing assets/wealth might be a big factor for you, but I think you are vastly overstating things a bit. |
Gotta say I agree with people who say this would be a good movie plot. In fact, come to think of it, they do this plot all the time. . . |
jason12345:Hrm, I think the safey features of these nuclear generators are pretty good. It wouldn't be that easy for terrorists to cause massive disaster; there are a lot of safeguards associated that would prevent things from escalating out of control. The problem I have with this is that the Nigerian gov't always wants to put the cart before the horse. Send a satellite into space, but not have good roads or power supply. Majoring in minor, as my dad would say ![]() |
Who is to pay for this basic education? Basic education isn't free. If they want to educate their kids, let them raise money to do so. |
Terrible journalism. How about saying "SOME" nigerians, rather than implying that he has some sort of overwhelming support? |
Beaf:Christian theocrats are no better than Muslim ones. Don't want to live under either. What happens if you disagree with the theocracy about how you want to practice some aspect of the religion? Under a theocracy, religious disagreement is violating the law and probably gets you jailed or at the very least hurts your quality of life a lot. Ya'll need to read up on the reformation and especially Martin Luther to understand why religion and politics don't mix. Redeemed needs to stay out of politics; Jesus said the following for a very good reason: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew%2022:21;&version=NIV;WHNU; |
I googled the term "Monte Carlo simulation of the energy spectrum due to second collimator of a LINAC." Most of the links that come up seem to refer to something called MCNP, which is available here: https://mcnpx.lanl.gov/ Looks like the source code for it is available on that site (in Fortran.) I suggest you read all the documents on that site. Hope this helps. |
