As much as 70% of your assertions are reality, but you need to accept that some women love to live in denial.

The denial is what keeps them sane.

FOLYKAZE: Something serious is happening here. I dont know if the illustrations bolaino ascribed as supernatural are true or not. He might truely have seen this things happening but the mistake he made here is that he is combing is ignorance into supernatures. Personally I saw a crucifix in a bottle and I questioned about it from my dad. He explained in details process this thing was made. If I had not known or got the idea, I will also be saying here that they are supernaturals. Also from what Ijawkid says about bullet proof juju, I will gladly says that I have witnessed something of such in 2009. I saw guys shooting themselves, testing their voodoo individually. Im not saying this is a gun fight or crisis. It happened among OPC guys. They did this openly in the centre of Ondo town. And also I got friends among them which was tested in my presence. Well as for me, I dont believe in this as supernatural. Only that I dont understand how it works with those guys. I have seen situation like man carrying 'magun', man eating bottle, man disappearing and knock down in fight charm. When arguing with my friends who have this things, Im always pressed down cause I dont know how to explain them. Lot of activities like Bullet proof juju, fireman, water in a basket, light weight object which cant be lift and lot more. These are very common on Ogun festive day in Ondo town. I dont know if the people doing those stuff are tricksters or magicians. But the problem I have is that I cant explain those stuff. And also on bullet proof stuff, I can assure most Atheist here that it works fine. It either your gun develop fault immediately, or it burst from the back and you get hit, or the bullet fly away missing the target, or it drop weak before the target. I got a old bro doing this stuff. And he have tested it on many occasion working fine. Though I have not seen him trying it with AK47. He use local guns and double barrel which was used to kill a goat in the process of testing the gun and other way wrong didn't work on him. I dont know if people here can explain this but I have witnessed and very sure it works.
I can tell you I saw an alien and it will all amount to nothing if this feat cannot be shown to the world. How come no one was able to video or document it?

Aluu boys could be recorded being beaten and burnt but a man magically dogding a bullet cannot be seen except from people telling us through word of mouth.

shymexx: People don't even know the complexities involved in music and the art-form because of the watered-down fashion we all see on TV... Even hip-hop that looks like the most basic genre of music is one of the most complex, when you actually break-it-down... Hence why most of the lyrics/metaphors/similies by lyrical rappers like: Nas, Immortal Technique, Jay Z etc. always fly over people's heads...

Reggae is another complex art-form that looks simple from the outside but very complex... and these two genres are probably the most basic of the lot...
'Actors have much brighter minds than musicians because they have to read, understand, & judge dozens to hundreds of scripts'- according to mind-reader Seun.

Like musicians like Jayz, Beyonce, snoop dog and so on dont have to write, read ,understand and sing hundreds of lyrics whilst trying to remember/recite past hits of like 5 years in concerts in 1 or 2 hrs time frame.

Seun must have experimented with drugs today.
CelebritiesRe: Gwyneth Paltrow Voted World's Most-Beautiful Woman by dare2think: 2:30pm On Apr 30, 2013
Seun: Actors have much brighter minds than musicians because they have to read, understand, & judge dozens to hundreds of scripts (which are modern works of literature, really) over the course of their careers. They also have to understand, memorise and convincingly perform thousands of lines of dialog over and over again. All that exposure to the intelligence of a wide variety of writers makes actors have brighter minds.

Musicians, on the other hand, don't have to read anything to be successful. Fantasia Barrino won American idol as an illiterate. Performing musicians spend most of the time practising dance moves, and performing the same handful of meaningless songs over and over and over again while inappropriately dressed. Singer-songwriters are a wee bit smarter, but even they don't have to read much; songs don't have to make sense anymore as long as they sound nice and come with sufficiently gratifying videos.

As a result, the mind of even a great musician is darker and dustier than the mind of an average actor or actress. That is why I can confidently assert that Beyonce's mind is darker and dustier than Gwyneth Palthrow's mind. Gwyneth Paltrow has to read and understand and help to dramatise great or above average scripts covering a wide variety of issues regularly. Beyonce does not. That is all.
Wow.

Never knew you were a specialist in the art of mind reading??

Internet entreprenuer and specialist mind reader!!

Kudos.

^
For your curiousity about the 'impossible bottle'

Whilst I agree that nobody knows all and some thing are still beyond human comprehension, I still hold the conviction not to quickly lean towards the realms of spirituality and Mysticism. Why?

A lot of what was attributed as non-comprehendable to human capacity or mystery has often been resolved through the use of science. As we vecome more advanced in science and thoughts alot of entities become demystified. Humans in their helplessness and in some cases laziness(Nigerian, mostly) are quick to mystify anything they dont understand rather that using researching or even 'googling' the topic.

I believe Nigerians should make better use of the internet, rather than focus on linda ieji's blog.

sarutobie: Do you have a better opinion to why the nigerian scientist(and many others before him) have been silenced permanently after their claim to discover a cure? If truely the cure wasn't viable(as some of the international bodies claim),what stopped them(the nigerian scientists) from furthering or improving on it?....pray do tell..
Perhaps because they have not reached the intellectual capacity described in your previous post.

Why have the Nigerian scientists not found the cure for diabetes, cancer and all other untreatable diseases?

Oh, they were silenced too?

Why not go on the HIV website and go through the contents and see various countries carrying out continuous researches and their publications. Thailand being one of the main research centres.

The man that your brother claimed was 'silenced', what was his specialist research area? What were his previous medical publications, which research agency does he work for, where does he get funding from? Which research method is he using?

These are the questions I expect you or your top honours brother to ask. Not just come up with unsubstantiated blanket claims that he was silenced.

As your brother is a scientist, I don't expect your brother to say
that.

sarutobie: Call it thrash..not my problem..but if you claim to be 'reasonable'.you should be able to respect people's view or make your counter-points 'reasonably'...I may not have a concrete proof of what I initially said but,I have an elder brother who graduated with top honors in pharmacy(Lasuth)..he told me the complex and sometimes dirty maneouverings of pharmaceutical companies(which will be too long to post)..I once showed him the news of a nigerian scientist on the verge of 'discovering' a cure for hiv..and he said "we know how these things go,mark my words,he will retract his statement after 2 weeks..they(whoever 'they' are) will make him an offer he can't refuse"..and true to word,it happened exactly the way he predicted..or do you 'reasonably' believe only the western world have the capacity or intellect to come up with a cure?..
So, the fact that he retracted his statement equated that an offer has been made!!

Very 'reasonable'.

Gboliwe: Personally, if I were in government, i'll see this as a call for duty. But, its hypocritical apportioning this dirt to a select part of the country. Not like there isnt heavy filth in the very area where you stand to 'weep for some places' no, you dont weep for 'some' you weep for the entire country! The country is in deep shiit (no pun intended).
By the way, I also saw pictures of the slums in some parts of the western world where the land is paved with gold. How come?
Let the westerners deal with their issues and we deal with ours. Pointing at their deficiencies does not make ours better or less deplorable.

talktimi: maybe you would have had a different perspective if you felt your ethnic nationality was the target of this topic then again maybe not. Asper being objective, she got many of her photos from google images, she could as easily have gotten/started her topic from her state so as to be fair. Nigeria is a very sensitive country when it comes to such issues as this and if you travel round as much as I do, you would understand. Anyways, its all good. The baby should not be thrown with the bath water
Technically, what you are saying is that she has no right to expose the inadequacies of another state as she does not hail from that state.

Only those from from a particular state can criticize their respective states. Even when the so-called states are in the same Country.

I see.

talktimi: I don't think people who are angry with the op are doing so for exposing the dirt in their "villages" (if I may borrow that expression from her) I believe the anger stems from the fact that her topic has a subtle ethnic bashing tint to it that portrays the SE as a dirty/backward people. I came across somewhere on this thread that the op is from Ekiti state, why didn't she start the photo postings from there or better still the place of initial abode (Lagos ? Before she travelled out) you don't leave your farm and clear weed from your neighbor's own.

Hold your elected officials accountable.
The title of the thread actually state 'the dirtiness that 'is' Nigeria'.

I don't think that it matters which area she may have started from as it all encompasses Nigeria. The Op did include various locations from around the country including those that you allude to favour. Also she did say she will include more.

Objectivity is key.

I don't take her seriously,i am just pointing up to her that i know who she is and that it is the same bull she is on about, even with her disguise as a texas cowgirl. How she could have opted for that name with all those oyinbo crackers bent on roping her neck is what makes her do what she does, ignorance.
OK. Lets now leave texas.cowgirl and discuss on the tranformation of Nigeria as evidenced by the pictures. Some posters have been posting images of reconstructed places. How do we attain the changes needed. Do you think triblalism blithes our focus and the politicians take advantage of that?
PoliticsRe: The Dirtiness That "Is" Nigeria by dare2think: 2:37pm On Apr 29, 2013
redsun: We all know nigeria is backward and no one state or area is free from the scourge of backwardness. And what rational people should be doing is how to remove the shame of moral decadence in our society, not taking the piss.
Perhaps the Op may have ulterior motives, perhaps not.

The rationality behind removing the moral decadence in the society, as descibed in your post , is subjective to each individual. If this is one the ways the Op deems it fit to address the decadence, dont you feel we should give her that right?

For example; If you want to point out the moral deficiency behind racism in South Africa, dont you think it is adequate to show pictures of lynchings, beatings and all other eye-sores that is relevant to the 'backwardness' (both old and new pictures)

Criticism is very important so as to put people in power in check. Meaningful AND ambitious societies should criticize the social structure of it's spheres.

yeboyes: I for one do not understand how any intelligent person can attend this con man's church. This dude was exposed on BBC for the whole world to see as a conman who takes advantage of desperate people yet morons still flock to his church.

The major problem we Nigerians have is these mentalities of "He go better" ,"GOD's times is the best","touch not my anointed", "all is well" and other ridiculous as well as regressive mentalities. These lines of reasoning has crippled the minds of Nigerians as many have become intellectually incapacitated. The fact of the matter is all these pastors are con men. You don't need anyone to pray for you before you succeed.

If you believe in your yourself and help yourself by working hard,GOD will help you.Stop waiting for one idiotic pastor to lay hands on you.USE your GOD given brain and work your way to success.Like the saying goes ,GOD only helps those who help themselves.Helping yourself does not mean saying tithes every day ,kissing your pastor's butt or sleeping in church everyday. It seemly means you should apply yourself or find something to do.

The same rule applies to our politics,we cry all the time when our leaders commit treason against the nation but continue to vote them back in.I have heard people saying " I know Jonathan is corrupt but what can we do? He is better than the rest".I am sorry but i disagree ,such assumption is the retort of an intellectually redundant mind.Others will say "I will vote for Jonathan again because he is from the south. It is better for a south man to chop the money instead of an Hausa man".

Nigerian do not vote for the best candidates they vote for the candidate which hails from their own tribe or the one who bribes them.Your dishonest finance minister had the guts to lie on CNN by saying 99% of Nigerian's are honest. We have serious issues in Nigeria and we are our own worst enemies.Unless we begin to engine ourselves in honest and intelligent conversations ,we will never get out of this cesspit we are in.
Do not under-estimate the power of religion and delusion.

Both can make people kill, getting conned is nothing!!

They are like a large percentage of African Americans-when the rest of the world see America as a land of opportunities, the only thing some of these slave descendants see is white oppression, drugs, drive by shooting, and prison.
@Texas.cowgirl, i dont know why a transsexual gogo dancer like u should be putting this amount of energy in making Naija look bad.

Nigeria is evolving and will only get better for those who believe in her.
Can u prosper in a land that u dont believe in?
I agree with your last sentence and also the part about opportunities, However, there is nothing wrong in showcasing the lapses in governmental responsibilities in whichever form.

Do you propose we pretend that these places do not exist or that the money that should be used in the maintenance of the cities are used for private jets, celebrity gifts and state functions?

How do you propose we expose these corrupt ways of live?
