sleekymag: Touch what nerve? In your dreams my friend. What i find appalling however is that you call him a charlatan and a fraud and all that. So why asking what his source of income is, since you've already defined him with your myopic sense of reasoning?Remember what I said about your comprehension skills, in your hurry to ascertain your gullibility, you fail to see the reason the question was asked in that particular post. You need to read posts more to be able to grasp the concept of discourse. Like I said previously, perhaps you should read the post again and the context of the quoted post to understand why the question was asked. Not my fault you find it difficult! |
Torres' body language was really annoying yesterday. As someone who is still giving him the benefit of the doubt, my patience is wearing thin. Geez, how much more time does this dude need. ![]() |
sleekymag: This is becoming like a broken record. Maybe you can go and ask the man himself!Dude, the question was not directed to you! I must be touching a nerve right? Broken record or not, it is a legitimate question! |
sleekymag: I know your type! In the bid not to be outdone you just think you have to say something. If it affects you that much, do something about it rather than rant on here.Let me rant, at least i'm not using your bandwidth! You can rant about my post, but you want to deny me the right to do the same! That you choose to idolize a fraudulent charlatan is your business, infact it is you fundamental human right! Just don't expect everyone to follow suit! |
Shine1177: True talk pal. these people are just shout hoax where there is non. I know of private school in Lagos and Abuja that their students pay N3 miilion per session. I've worked as a Network Engineer at Covenant University and i know what am saying Architecture which is a six-year course carries the highest fee per session which is just N650,000 per session and there are course that is as low as N450,000. Now compare and contrast, N3 million for 5 years for a primary school pupil and N450,000 for 4-years for a university student, which one is on the high side? Nairalander are not complaining about the expensive private Nursery/Primary which are own by politicians/moneybags whose source of income you cannot even pin-point. Why shout about tithe and offering money? May the good Lord grant you understanding! Are you sure they are not complaining? So the fact politicians are getting away with it, why should't the pastors, right? By the way what is the source of income of Oyedepo? |
sleekymag: I won't bang words with you. Satisfy yourself with your opinions of him. There's no need to cry more than the bereaved, you are not a member of hsi church, neither do you pay your offerings to him. His members are not complaining.Another typical lazy rhetoric! 'As long as it does not affect you, what is your own' syndrome that is stagnating the growth of the nation. Under-developed nation in all aspect. |
sleekymag: Being a visionary leader doesn't mean dying for other people my friend. You can be a religious visionary leader, a business visionary leader, a social crusader with a vision for a preferred future, and what have you. If his having jets, and buildings and stuff is choking your sense of reason as to what the bigger picture may be, then i do not think it's the man's fault. What have you in your own little way contributed to humanity? What are you doing about it, if you haven't started? We all have the ability within our calling, to make a difference! And besides, its always easy to criticize.Well, I was waiting for the typical 'what have you done' that always seem to follow when a criticism have been lodged at this demi-god. Very Typical. What I have done to Humanity is best known to me and those it may have affected. And when done right, my contribution should not be afraid to undergo scrutiny! Your comprehension skills seem to be lacking and your reasoning has been choked by his aura and personality. This is nothing new. I never said being a visionary leader means dying for other people. Perhaps, you should read the post again and take note of the qualities I mentioned. You may clamour on the big, bigger, and biggest picture all you want. The most important picture , to me, is that of Morality, honesty and transparency. He is a fraud that emphasises on people to give money to God in order to receive blessings. That is Fraudulent. The only person the congregation are giving money to is his church. And the church is Oyedepo. You have the right to believe what you want to believe, its your choice. He may be a visionary leader to you. To me, he is a charlatan and he exhibits all the characteristics of one. |
sleekymag: Well, when some supposedly enlightened minds are already prejudiced, they fail to see the great intentions of visionary leaders like Bishop Oyedepo. Hence you wonder who the real ignorant minds are.Visionary leader in your world. What are his intentions? He is a fraud! Using religion as a tool in building an empire that he and his family controls! That is what you call a visionary leader? (Your opinion anyway). Having Buildings, jets and cars may entice you, but those are not the qualities that makes one a visionary leader. Selflessness and love for a cause and your followers are one of the principles of a visionary leader. Martin Luther King is a visionary leader, he put himself in harms way for his people. Can 'Papa' lay down his life for a member in his church? |
The ignorance of the Majority of Nigerian Christians is nauseating. We have thousands of years to go before we attain the level of enlightenment needed to improve that nation as a whole. A man is using religion to enrich himself and building edifices and structures for the elites and their siblings and people cant see the fundamental flawed ideology contained within. The love of money, the greed of people, the elevation of man to god-like status, the monetization of religion, everything the pioneer of the Christian faith , Jesus, gave his life for is used as the tool to propagate his name. For a nation that claims to possess intelligent graduates and general population, we are one of the most foolish set of people. We have let religion take control, what is seen as corrupt practises is seen as blessings as long as religion is involved. We let big buildings and structures blind our honesty and integrity. Little wonder political injustice thrives in Nigeria. It does not matter what an ill-gotten money is used for, building hospitals or universities, a time will come when it will come crushing down. Because you cant build a entity on the back deceit and lies. Vanity! Ofcourse, I do not expect ignorant minds to understand my post. |
ifee-gee:Dont flatter yourself, my aim was never to convince anyone! It Is up to each individual to be honest with themselves. A corrupt society like Nigeria breeds frauds in all aspect of the society, including religious frauds. Dont need to convince anyone on that reality! However, apologies for any insult that may have offended you! |
ifee-gee:Now you are playing the victim? Pathetic ! After referencing ignorance towards me in your post, you now have the nerve to say you don't do name-calling! You Have nothing substantial to add to this debate! Indeed, you are entitled to your opinions no matter how absurd they are. |
ifee-gee:Lady, you have nothing to say period! You are too mentally lazy to figure out the social and psychological injustice perpetrated in churches because some frauds call themselves 'men of god'. I expect nothing substantial from people like you who submit your faculties at the feet of a fellow man. Like the poster above said, you kind worship men and are fascinated by the amount of wealth they accumulate. Religious and material slaves! So, yes. You have nothing to say! |
ifee-gee:Obviously, ignorant minds will never grasp the intricate food for thought contained within. I never expected much anyway. As misguided as you may try to portray them, you cannot extinguish the truth they convey. |
ifee-gee:Misguided?? Misguided is when you see the open fraudulent activities but ignore. Misguided is when you choose to defend a man that used religion to enrich himself. Misguided is when you are oblivious to the poverty of nigerians and those taking advantage of it. Misguided is when you say 'judge not' when men is religious authority abuse their power, but judge charley boy for his eccentric ways. Misguided is when you choose to believe a man born just like you were born to have the utmost authority over you. Don't talk to me about ' misguided' You are deeply misguided |
dan jalingo: .let us please be careful with what we say. we can't help God.You may be crippled with fear due to your deference to some perceived 'spiritual authority'. However, I urge you to put aside that fear, and embrace honesty and truth, what is a man of god doing with 3 jets in a country where children are hungry? Does that make sense? Is that what your christianity is about? The Shepard living in luxury, and the flock struggling! You must be joking! |
ifee-gee:Regardless, your bishop is still charlatan that thrives on the ignorance of people. |
This Stagger is one effeminate internet Christian terrorist! Always online telling us about his fantasy lifestyle, someone tell that story-teller to wake up from his dream! Oyedepo is a fraud taking advantage of the desperation of people and a corrupt country! Stagger, shame on you and your fraudulent 'papa' |
Burger01: Mostly, papers are incomplete.. I know of two same blood brothers who travelled the uk over 8 years ago. During this period their mum departed and we all thought they would come home for their mum"s burial rites. Believe you me, we did not see either of them. On the said burial day, the elder brother who is my friend called and asked me sebi I know how jand be like nau, that he couldn't just come home like that. I answered sure I knew. Bottom line, no papers to travel come naija come do mum's burial. Visa got expired and he probably apllied for asylum.. Naija people in diaspora, wake up. Come out of your delusions...Do you know what tommorow has in store for them? You are already diminishing them, as though some people in Nigeria don't experience worse. No place is a bed if roses, and only they - the protagonists- in your story know what's best for them. Do they tell you how to run your own life? People get stuck anywhere in life? Be it papers, money, or whatever. People in diaspora should not make it seem as if all is rosy there, but people in Nigeria do not have the right to do the same either! |
Alot of self-delusion/ self denial going on. It is only natural to go into over-drive when under scrutiny! Fact is; I dont think it is anybody's father's business that some folks go abroad to better their lives in anyway they deem fit. Likewise is anybody's farher's business that some chose to stay behind. Nigerians both home and abroad contribute to the welfare of Nigeria in one way or another. And both groups have the right to criticise in any way they see fit. To claim dominion or advantage over another is ridiculous and myopic. There are Nigerian millionaires both home and abroad. And there are suffer heads both home and abroad. It is inevitable. The op is very ignorant and is projecting is bitterness to a group if nigerians that made individual choices to travel out. Some of these folks have raised families abroad or were even born abroad. They criticise 9ger because they have that right to do so just as you criticise them as well. This is not a military regime where fos is curtailed. |
thelastPope: See this funny chap oh! You guys make a false claim, I debunk it and you are ranting! You claimed that you are contributing monies to Nigeria and you posted $9 billion et all. I have just showed you that its false, you come dey vex. Haba! Which one be your own nah!You call that debunking? ![]() You are obviously inept in the functionality of monetary economics. Let me go elementary for you. Sadly. If I send £100 to a relative in Nigeria and he/she goes to the market to spend £60. Which economy benefits from the money? If I send £50000 to Nigeria to start laying foundations on my newly acquired land there inadvertently employing labourer and creating jobs, which country is benefiting from that transaction? Ghana? Look beyond your prejudice, perhaps you'll view the scenario more objectively! |
So op, the money being sent to Nigeria for whatever reason is more beneficial to which country? Somalia? You have prejudice towards your fellow nigerians in diaspora for whatever reason and you have no moral authority to label anyone bitter! You reek of bitterness! |
Omo Daddy354: Sir or ma'am,i think u shld comprehend topics b4 drawing sentimental conclusions... D poster wrote "3 types of Christians on Nl', note d NL dia,he was precise dat he's classifactns are basd on dia activities on NL.. No offense oDear poster, And your point is ![]() |
Who be your capt! Seriously ! |
maclatunji: Of course he is. Obama has lost his way, he seems overwhelmed with the challenges of leadership. Can you mention one genuine leader that was never overwhelmed with the challenges of leadership! |
p_kasso: Matchday 1:Hummels penalty miss,Huntelaar scores then misses from the spot and Daniel Alves contrives to hit the ball past his own goalkeeper.I bet you have ronaldo as your captain. Your lead is temporary. Watch your back! |
The nature of the american electorate dictates that the last debate before the election is the most important. All these celebrations at the Romney camp is premature. |
Is beaf Reno omokri?? |
Ola one: Where is the popular "thou shall not judge" rhetoric? So it seems. You can judge your fellow humans, but when it comes to the demi-gods called pastors, the rules suddenly changes. |
afam4eva: Your post does not address my question? I've seen harecrishna worshippers, sango worshippers, Olumba olumba church members in this same country but the atheists have refused to be counted. Are they ashamed to come out or are just doubting thomases who just think it's cool to be called an atheist.Seriously Mr Afameva, my post did not address your question? -Sigh-, You asked; 'i wonder why i see more atheists online than i see real life. I'm not even sure i've come across any atheists in real life. Most of these people that call themselves non-believeers actually go to church every sunday. Even the ones that don't go tell people that they're Christians. Buncha cowards.' My reply; dare2think: There are several reasons that may contribute to your notification. Are you sure I did not address your question?? |
afam4eva: I live in Nigeria and many of the Atheists on here live in Nigeria too. How come their voices are not being heard? How come i haven't seen any? Then you have definitely ignored the message contained within my post, pls read it again! |
afam4eva: I never knew there's a test being carried out to ascertain who's a true Christian and who's not. It will shock you that people like Borntofuck who people see as hell fire prospect will be a born again real life while some people you listed in the first group will be worse than satani in real life. Though you're spot on about the atheists because i wonder why i see more atheists online than i see real life. I'm not even sure i've come across any atheists in real life. Most of these people that call themselves non-believeers actually go to church every sunday. Even the ones that don't go tell people that they're Christians. Buncha cowards. There are several reasons that may contribute to your notification. 1. You are in an environment where the majority are ignorant and intolerant to the choices of others. 2. You are in a deeply religious environment where athiesm or alternative lifestyles are frowned upon again due to ignorance or lack of understanding of these individuals' choices. 3. You may be the kind that is intolerant to their kind, thereby making them reluctant to reveal their true nature to you. I don't blame them though, judging by your last statement. |
Later, these conceited mugs will say 'thou shall not Judge'!! Op, who are you to class people in reference to their relationship with God? or in reference to their beliefs? Can you see their hearts? can you attest to their true intentions? Do you know what Oladedgu or Joaagbaje or those in your silly 'born-again' list do in their various lives aside from Nairaland? Funny dude! Born again my ass |
