I would recommend creating an online e-commerce web application to sell items while learing and keep on improving the front page, this way it will help to motivate you as you go along knowing that you have a live application running online to showcase your skills to employers when you have covered enough and I can gaurantee that you will get a programming job in no time.

You can get free host for starters here: https://www.netlify.com/pricing

Thanks for this. But just to ask is server side the same as back end in web development

What are you interested in?
Web design? Mobile/desktop app development or Data Science. I think it is way faster if you know the particular aspect that you wanna dabble into before jumping into programming.

I would have recommended you start from the basics like Introduction to Computer science, Data structures and Algorithms but many 9ja programmers no get time for those ones as na projects be the main thing over here in our software development space for Nigeria.

If you aren't too sure on where to start with then just search on YouTube "Mosh Hamedani Python" and download the 6hrs long video and start from there. Also try to download the python documentations on their official web page via google search "Python docs".

Stay Motivated boss!

Pls help someone. What is best and easiest way to learn data structure in one hand and Algorithm in another hand.

You are right boss. Once you can know the basics of programming like data structures and algorithms and master one language (I recommend Python for beginner's) then picking up other languages (which you definitely have to do as you advance in your career) will be much more easier and faster.

Lets see if the powers that be will allow you shake their table.

Advent of gsm in Nigeria, MTN & Econet started at N50 per minute with various silly excuses, a third player owned by Mike Adenuga came on board and promised N10 per minute. They gave him a faulty spectrum capable of sending him through Nigeria’s lenghty and expensive judicial labyrinth for years. Baba had to pipe low.

TSTV came along with pay per view and other goodies, shaking the table of DSTV. The company has been frustrated into silence and they'll only rear their ugly head when DSTV and Nigerian politicians allow them to come up for air.

There are many other instances but these two will let you know you cant just shake the table and introduce innovations without taking permission from those at the top cool

Had it been that TSTV is truthful about their agenda they should have come out to the public and inform the public their intentions and the attracted frustration. Use social media would be added advantage to their voice.

Now, you see why I don't say a thing when Nigerians go out to lambast public office holders in the country?

Funny, Nigerians suddenly become 'anti-corruption crusaders' when they are not partaking in the looting and embezzlement.

But put them in public office and... you know the rest.

As for the officer, just enjoy your retirement/resignation knowing that you have a clear conscience. That is very important. And don't worry about what hound dogs have got to say about your unflinching resolve to remain incorruptible.

Hi naira landers.
I just want to call our attention to one point.
The ruling is for muslims. Not for non muslims. Take a look at heading properly. It says: "Rulings on muslims congratulating ONE ANOTHER on the occasion of the gregorian NY."

So it is not Rulings on Non muslims congratulating muslims ( or vice versa ) on the occasion of the gregorian NY.

So let's calm down. The issue is up for muslims to muslims. Christians should just be onlookers.
Pls and pls . I am also a muslim and Islam is a religion of peace. So this matter has no effect on Non muslims.
Pls take note and shield your sword.
Properties / Re: How Much Is Cement In Your Area And Why Is The Price Of Cement Still High? by Darestc2k12: 11:34pm On Jan 01, 2021
jimts:
Everyone that is here ranting about monopoly of market being controlled by the two major cement shareholders (Dangote & Abdussamad) have no idea of the happenings in the cement industry.
For the benefit of clarification, I will give you all a quick rundown of the factors that shot the prices to the roof.

1. Corona lockdown
From March till June, most part of the country was under lockdown. This means that all construction activities were put on hold. As soon as it was lifted, the demand for cement naturally skyrocketed in arrears for the month of idleness. This is common sense.

2. ENDSARS Protest
During this period, curfews were imposed in many states. In Edo, BUA cement did not dispatch 1 bag of cement for nearly 5 days. That's an average of 60,000 tons of cement lost to down time. Similar thing happened in Ibese from information reaching us. Mark you, supply has further been shortened.

3. Bad road
Anyone familiar with Auchi/Okpella/Okenne axis of Benin/Okene expressway knows the frequency with which a complete traffic lockdown occurs. Some trucks spend 3 days between Okenne and Auchi (journey of less than 70km) alone because of deplorable state of the road leading to falling of heavy-duty vehicles and incessant breakdowns. This causes delay in the delivery of cement, therefore worsening the supply volume.

4. Internal factory challenges

Many a time, drop in gas pressure in our plant leads to drop in power available to run equipment because some of the gas powerplants have to be stopped. This is a problem beyond BUA or Dangote's control as gas is supplied by NGC (a subsidiary of NNPC). When there's no sufficient power, major equipment like cement mills have to be stopped, reducing the silo level for cement. This one is obviously a shortage in production.

5. Greed.

I've seen many of you complaining that the prices were raised by the factory owners, you are completely wrong. The factory price is still hovering around #2,400. This is the price at which BUA supplies to its customers with delivery. But because some of the customers prefer to just sell the ATC (authority to collect) to middlemen who pay for transportation (self collection), it increases the price/bag to about #3,000 by the time it arrives the buyer. These customers I mentioned earlier have paid billions of naira into chairman's account in exchange for the cement ATC, but many of them are not actually interested in selling cement. They only want to sell the ATC to middlemen and make quick money. This is the first level of greed.
The middlemen deliver the cement, depending on the distance between #2,800-#3,300 to cement retail sellers. Second level of greed happens here. The retailers then decide to sell it at #4,000.
mentality of the average Nigerian. This is the worst of all the greed.

All of these are the reasons why the problem is highly compounded and it will really take a while for things to normalize.
Whatever the story is, we will all build our houses this year!! cool

Even #2400 as cement company is on the high side.

The price of cement have really gone up for the later part of year 2020 and it is still high. So, I'll like to know why is the price of cement still high and how much is cement in your area? Is there a possibility that the price will fall anytime sooner?

Here in Port Harcourt, retailers sell between 4200 to 3900 naira which is quite high. This has caused most people to put their projects on hold or slow down the pace of the project. Or, will this price range remain as the official market price?

Is either the monopoly of Dangote is broken or abolished.
Or , local small cement factories are created.

Or Alternative to cement are made possible in building construction.
Properties / Re: How Much Is Cement In Your Area And Why Is The Price Of Cement Still High? by Darestc2k12: 11:10pm On Jan 01, 2021
The high prices of cement is caused by our government.
The same cement (Dangote cement) is sold between N900 and N1000 in Ghana.

The only way to reduce the prices of cement in Nigeria is by producing in small scale in each local government.
If a small factory for the production of block binding element ( cement) is established by entrepreneur across each local government, the prices will fall.

Also the price, will fall if we can find alternative to cement in building construction. I believe this is possible.
