whenever you feel like debating this let me know.. my mom is urhobo.. I grew up in urhobo land.. any one saying isoko is not urhobo.. Is either ignorant of the truth.. or doing it for political purpose .. like community chairman, local government chairman,.. community rights etc.. dont be deceived... okpe, uvwie, they're all urhobos
Your Dad nko where is he from?

The truth is the ethnic boundaries between Isoko and urhobo is very vague. Urhobo towns like evreni and uhweru languages are the closest to Isoko, infact they speak isoko with an urhobo style and I hear they used to be part of eastern urhobo (now isoko) while enwhe in isoko is closest to urhobo and they even say Yare instead nyaze for cum.

I have this in law from uhweru who was convinced that what my parents were speaking is urhobo while they(my parents) told my sister independently that what her husband was speaking isoko.

But outside of those two towns, maybe another time sha...

isoko is urhobo.. you're mistaking language for ethnicity.. do a little bit of research on the isoko people.. and you'll see that isoko is just a language in urhobo... just like we have egba, ijebu in yoruba.. so a ijebu man is no longer a yoruba man, shey?? even the ijaws have over 5 diff spoken languages.. so that doesn't make them ijaw??
I don't agree with this but this not the place for that

From my observation as an outsider

Urhobo is by far the largest ethic group in Delta state

And I believe Anioma should follow

isoko should be third but historically Isoko are just Eastern Urhobo if I am not mistaken

Ijaw and Ishekiri should be similar in numbers
What State are you from?

8. We beat urhobo in sports.

9. In formal Midwest who dey hear about urhobo people.
The eight local government of the Urhobos is more populated than all Anioma that's without even adding warri south were they are more than 30-50% there. So chill, even without Isoko they outnumber you.

Nwanyiogwashi my point is proliferation of LGA's is not a yardstick for determining population. Kano Has more local government than Lagos but does that make it more populated than lagos? The southeast has 5 local governments as against the south south with 6. are the miniority tribes of Southsouth more populated than the igbos? For Your informations urhobo territories are not just limited to delta central, urhobos are in warri south also, even asfar as ofoni in bayelsa state. infact, the Deputy Governor Of bayelsa State is an urhoboman. So if you add warri south to the two isoko local government of delta state plus the urhobos in bayelsa, about 12 local goverment. The ediod urhobo-isoko people are the most dominant people inhabiting delta state with an extimated 3million people & we are the 5th largest ethnic group in southern nigeria after the yorubas, igbos, ijaws, ibibio-efik, u have the urhobo-isoko people.

Attached Is the voter strength of local governments in delta state which helps buttress my point

Ogwash is just a village with a Polytechnic. Ogwash needed a "school" in other to be known. You cannot compare that village to Sapele. Outside Delta; how many people knows there is a place called Ogwash? But Sapele is well known Nation wide for her Timber, Rubber and definitely her Ogogoro!!!

Thats good, but I believe Nigeria to either do restructuring or allow southern states to secede and make the restructuring themselves of themselves confederate states.

Confederate states is the best for we the south, because we all complement each other down here.

Yourbas: Policy making when it includes education: So better education, if they're serious.

Bini: Oba a good tool for cultural tourism and, the people are also educationally inclined too.

Urhobo and Isoko: handles everything related to fishery and architecture in some quarters. Also including farming.

Izon: control the fishing industry, side by side with Urhobo/Isoko

Igbo: Business and Marketing of products internationally and pays tax to states they trade with. And farming for the Enugu and Ebonyi region (finding steps to make food cheap and affordable)

Then resource redistribution would be: 60-70% for the state and the remaining percentage for federal projects, especially for poor states in the country.

This is the best political mechanism, and everyone is happy based on the speedy development.

Industries would be situated in your state based on what you're producing. And if there's no Resource in your state the federal government gives grants, and keeps a keen eye on those grants to make sure it's effectively used.

what do you mean by taking? Benin city was the headquarter in those days. Have you seen any region that doesn't developed their capital city?

Take Delta state for example, I know many urhobo and isoko that are still angry about the capital been in asaba, they are even angry about the development in the city.

Remember crude oil wasn't selling in large commercial quantities then and "Benin" provided much of the money meant for development through palm oil, timbers, rubber etc
Delta State is the largest producer of rubber in Nigeria and has always been, sapele was a major timber producing town. So how did Benin provide those?

Isoko in Ndokwa East are traditional migrants(tenants) there, and would have to assimilate into the culture of their host, if they want to continue living in peace there. After all, the Igbide in Isoko who were originally Igbos had fully assimilated as Isokos and there are many other towns like that, including Orogun who are now bilingual in Urhobo and Ukwuani.

The figures are not adding up.
I don't believe Urhobos outnumber Anioma by that much.
I would rather believe there was poor voters registration in Anioma which should be tackled by stakeholders there.
I don't know what you mean by tenants and assimilation. The second largest ward there is completely isoko speaking with Isoko speakers here and there in others. It seems you don't understand the direction of assimilation when villages with Igbo/ukwani/ukwale names like umuti and okafor are Isoko speaking. Very recent migration into asaba ase and it's now billingual with more isoko speakers. Infact a sizeable amount of ase ukwani clan are billinguals and these aren't the people I was referring to.

Whether you like it or not those are the registered voters in Delta State and we don't register almajiri/underage like the north. Rural areas might have seen low turnouts but urhobo and isoko areas have rural and riverine areas too.

The figures of those Voters registration you posted is in total contrast to 2006 population figures for each of the LGAs. I doubt it's credibility.
Either that or there was voters under registration in Anioma areas.
What you should doubt is the 2006 census. My local government was third most populous now we are in 9th place and yet you don't see me complaining

Those are numbers of registered voters in Delta State and by 2023 the urhobo would have grown marginally higher than Anioma again

The figures are those of people with electoral power in Delta state and 47% of them are in urhobo and isoko land without even adding warri south. Just give it up
There are sizeable number of Isoko people in ndokwa East

Urhobo don't have the population to dominate Delta state. They outnumber Anioma but only barely.
Also don't forget that the migrant Igbo factor is going to be factor in Delta as years go by. More and more Igbos from SE are migrating to Asaba, Okpanam and environment to live and work, in time, it would work to Anioma advantage like its working to Ikwerre advantage in Rivers state.
Look at the stats below urhobo Local governments and isoko has by faar the most electorate
Urhobo and Isoko has about 47% of the total vote while Anioma has 27%. The rest for itsekiri and ijaw and it is almost impossible for them to align with Anioma
Population growth rate is higher in urhobo area than Anioma

I dont have any bad blood with the resolve of isokos to be on their own. but i sure say you sef know say if to say isokos nor komot from urhobo them no born james manager well for am to remain as senator since 1999. and come to think of it, isoko for don produce governor for delta south or maybe na them for produce the next governor for delta south. but ijaw no go let them get any breathing space for there because na them plenty pass. after okowas 3yrs rule, add am join delta central 8yrs rule, plus ijaw 8yrs rule and another anioma 8yrs rule, another delta central 8yrs rule before isoko go fit produce governor. & that is in 35yrs time, if the ibori uduaghan drama no play out again, else na 56yrs tym.
Not to talk about house of rep zonings and maybe delta state speaker positions which when zoned to delta south maynt favor isokos. i do not have any bad blood for isokos and i wish them the very best, just stating my observations.
Isoko produced the first senator in 1999. I think it's because the isoko and urhobo people do not have a very strong political figure to rally their people

I attached a screenshot of the political strength of the 25 Local governments of Delta state. The 2 isoko local government has a slightly higher electoral strength than the three core ijaw local government. Urhobo in warri south can rally round an Isoko candidate so absolute numbers we can take it. The ijaw are into heavy rigging, voter turn out is always over 90%

The Urhobos have the highest political strength very superior to the Anioma people, you guys can monopolize the state like Tivs and ikwerre of benue and Rivers respectively. I know most of the local government are populated by outsiders by they are still mostly Hinterland Urhobos. The redelineation of wards in warri south has given Urhobos an upper hand. You people are supposed to be the power brokers in the state

One thing I have noticed among all these cities is the aesthetics appeal of the buildings, environment and landscaping. These are all lacking in Nigeria.

Our architects and builders are not creative at all. The same building designs without consideration for aesthetics.

Secondly, the chaotic, crude and overcrowded nature of Nigeria towns makes our environment unappealing for tourists.

We are too disorganised in this country with absolute indiscipline in all spheres of life.
