Datazone: In Sapele, Itsekiris are many. In fact, in the early days Itsekiris and Okpe (Urhobo Clan) dragged the ownership of Sapele in a Law Court. The Itsekiris lost the case at the state level or so and they took it to West African Court for appeal and they lost. Though they've since stopped it but the Itsekiris claim is still valid, here's why.
Genesis of Sapele land tussle: The Okpes only documented ownership of a certain plot of land which ranges from the beginning of the town to mecahnic village to the market.
The Itsekiris, according to them, founded Itsekiri road, Yoruba road, Ugberikoko, Ajimele and many other communities and other areas from.the end of Urhobo boundary to the end of the town (Ugberikoko).
NOTE: The case in court was centred around the Urhobo plots of land in Sapele which the Itsekiris lost.
And for the records, most of the development in Sapele are Itsekiris owned. Until Yahoo Yahoo came, most of the finest houses and Structures you'll find in Sapele are Itsekiri owned.
As for Oghara, it is in Ethiope west LGA in Delta. There are itsekiri communities there too. I would have love name them but I've forgotten but I can dig them out if need be.
PS: Urhobos have king scatttered everywhere that's why they talk about warri not being solely for the Itsekiris. If Itsekiris do not practice this one king one crown style of monarchy. It would have been chaos in delta because Itsekiris would have created kingdoms in all urhobo and Ijaw LGAs they exist Hmmm, I never really knew that Sha Who outnumbers who in sapele today? And apart from pidgin English what other languages are dominant? |

And most of the investments in Sapele are Itsekiris owned even till date. The finest houses and structures were erected by Itsekiri men and women Are you itsekiri? I hear itsekiri population is much in sapele and oghara |

Nowenuse: Nice one. Yes Urhobo land is more urbanized than Anioma land. Infact I keep telling my Anioma friends to thank their stars that they got the captial in Asaba, otherwise their homeland would have almost been nothing to write about.
Now Asaba can neutralize Urhobo parts of Warri urban/Uvwie/Udu in development.
Agbor can neutralize Ughelli. Obiaruku can neutralize Abraka, but Obiaruku is not populated with vibes like Abraka with the university.
Kwale can neutralize Oghara.
The Urhobos still have Sapele standing
Ogwashi Uku is nothing and can only compare the likes of Mosogar-Jesse.
In terms of human capital. It is almost a tie between Aniomas & Urhobos. However, I will say that Aniomas have a more higher quality population than Urhobos and this is not insulting. Urhobos had and still keep on having many more children than Aniomas and this reduced the quality of the population.
Take the Enuanis for example, they are the most educated in Delta state in my opinion. You hardly come across a full blown illiterate from this area. All my life in Delta state, I have only come across one woman in her middle age from Enuani who was an illiterate. But for the Urhobos, Isokos, Ijaws, Itsekiris and even Ikas & Ndokwas, it is higher.
I attended Federal government college Warri & UNIBEN and through my years in both schools, Enuanis (Anochia/Oshimili people) were always at the top of the class and performed better than the Urhobos and others on average. These Enuanis also tend to come from richer and more educated middle-class families from my observation. .
However in terms of successful people. It is almost a tie between Urhobos and Aniomas. Urhobos almost exclusively founded and grew the comedy industry of Nigeria. They dominate this industry. They carved a niche for Warri in Nigeria. Though, Aniomas are far ahead in capitalism and wealth creation.
Oil discovery came in too early for the Urhobos. It has unfortunately made many of them very lazy and reluctant with a strong sense of entitlement. .... This character is worse among the Uvwie, Udu & Warri south Urhobos. So many of them do not want to go to school anymore, but want to be in charge of community funds and allocations. Oil is really more of a curse than a blessing abeg. What do you mean by equate in development? Is it companies, industries and establishment? Or you mean population?. If it's population Anioma land is empty. The number registered voters in each local government shows that uvwie is more populated than oshimili south which contains asaba, okpanam and ibuzo and the might Agbor which is in ika south as 2.5x less population than ughelli North. But they are very few urhobo and isoko people in asaba while reverse is the case for Anioma in warri I agree that urhobo and isoko people lack human capital development and most of the youths are lazy and that deve attitude is very smelly. I know Igbo are usually smart so no surprise should dey top the class but it's nowe e b like say u sef dey follow our urhobo brothers carry last for class that time o If you grow up in Delta, how then are you able to speak hausa?

Kwashiman: 80% of Anioma are proudly Igbos and identity with their Igboness. Madam Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was on a public health awareness forum on BBC Igbo via a zoom video call few weeks ago, a forum to educate our people about the needs of staying safe amidst the Covid-19 crisis etc, and she didn't stop at nothing to always remind us that she's first and foremost an undiluted Igbo woman and there was no debating that. What you need to realize is that the war did us (our people) dirty, lots of people from my area denied their Igboness including a couple of my family members back then. It's a psychological battle. But the wave of identity crisis is now fast diminishing as many more of our people don't need to be told they are Igbo, they know it and accept it like a badge of honor.
But of course there will always be a few who are battling with whom they are, today they are Ika, tomorrow they are Anioma, the day after they are "Delta Igbo"... Like it's a circus show of confusion galore . But we shall overcome, the signs are looking good at least. Ika and ukwani people don't agree with this your submission |

Nowenuse: Isokos are not as small as you think they are. If you add Urhobos & Isokos together, Isokos make up to 30% of the population, if not more.
People look down on Isoko numbers cos they have only 2 LGAs and migrate from their land like nonsense. Isokos outnumber Itsekiris by far and can measure up to the Ijaws in Delta state if not outnumber them.
I knew Isokos were so many looking back when I was in schools. In my secondary sch in Warri, for every 10 Urhobos you find, you find like 6 Isokos. Infact in my department and faculty in Uniben, Isokos equalled Urhobos in numbers. Living in Warri, Isokos can give Urhobos from outside Warri area (i e Ughellis, Okpes & Ethiopes) a good run for their money in numbers.
It's unfortunate that Isokos got only 2 LGAs. If we had ethnic census in Nigeria, so many lies would have been exposed. Imagine somebody here (Senatordave1) claiming Itsekiris are more than Isokos.
When I was in Uniben, there was only 1 Itsekiri girl in my department while Isokos were dragging numbers with Ishans & Afemais.
People just claim Itsekiris & Ijaws have numbers in Delta state, but you don't see them anywhere. I have often thought of it too, even here in lagos I have come across by far more Isoko people than urhobo. Even in my dept @ uni too. If not for undeniable fact, I don't know but I would have thought the margin between us wasn't so wide As for ijaw and itsekiri, you hardly see them anywhere |

pazienza: This is what gives you minorities adrenaline rush huh!
When Igboids deny their Igbo heritage? All your rigamaroling were all aimed to having her disclaim Igbo? She is on her own. She cannot speak for the rest of Anioma. There is no way of knowing if she is really an Anioma person or not, just as we can't tell if Nwanyioanioma is Anioma. But we know in life , that there exists Anioma persons who identify as Igbo first and foremost and those who doesn't. So we know that she and Nwanyianioma whether frauds or real, represent two groups in Anioma.
I notice that when it suits you minorities, especially when you want to abuse Igboids, they become Igbos, but when disuniting them to achieve your aim of dividing and dominating them, you try to claim they are not Igbos, you support those of them who are Igbophobic so as to make sure Igbos from SE don't interfere in your agenda, and when you are done separating from SE, you go on attacking the fractures in their unity. I can see where some of you are already trying to detach Ukwuani from Anioma, in bid to water down the strength and threat their unity pose to your claim to numerical superiority, while you fight voraciously to present unity of Isoko, Okpe and Urhobo, even when our eagle eyes can see the obvious fracture lines in your midst.
I don't blame you though , I blame the Igboids that have refused to grow brains and have refused to see through your petty games.
Modern day Igbo nationalist like myself have decided to stay off Igboids issues and allow you minorities remind them of who they are like you always do whenever the table turns in their favor, like Professor Sagay did in this piece:http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/essays/politics/SagayOnDeltaCapital.html

Nowenuse: Igboid is actually Ignorant of this.
Actually, the Isokos are the ones assimilating the Igbo speakers in Ndokwa LGA. It's actually true, some of their communities with the usual Umi this umu that are Isoko speaking. I personally believe that urhobo and isoko were edoid groups who migrated into very sparsely populated igboid lands amongst also the virgin lands which they settled. Anibeze in bayelsa state for example is an Isoko settlement without any modern trace of igboid population but the name of the community means nothing in isoko language but is self explanatory in igboid languages. This is just my personal opinion tho and shouldn't be taken as facts tho |

My friend we're not your mate. Respect your status. And enjoy your little achievement in peace or you get it in pieces. Minority is just a geographical factor. Urhobo people would constitute a majority or a very visible tribe should they be in cape Verde, Liberia, Sierra Leone, guinea, Namibia etc and igbos would be a minority should they be in India, Brazil, Pakistan or China. Minority and majority statuses are just geographical "expressions", it's not real |
