I know of Akpanya in Igalamela/Odolu LGA. They all speak Igbo. Everyone born and bred in the town speak Igbo. The ones that speak Igala are those that had travelled - mainly the elders.

Their market is Orie, also an Igbo Market day.

If it's the elders that speaks igala, it tells you the aboriginal language of the people

You see the issue with many online articles is that they do not tell the story in full most times or they fail to portray the actual situation on ground. Many give hasty news also. For example, the olumbanasaa villages in Anambra north, an isolated island on the side of the anambra river that falls in Anambra state. Many articles you find online describe them as 'the 7 Igala speaking villages of Anambra state', and from reading the articles one would think that they speak only Igala however in reality all of these people speak Igbo fluently and many bear Igbo names as well. However, these factual details are left out in many articles online.

Coming to the Ugbodus/Ilukwobis of Delta state. Many articles would call them the olukwumi-speaking people of Delta state. Again, the impression most people would have is that they speak 'mostly' or 'only' Olukwumi or Olukwumi is their native language. But the actual situation on ground is that everyone, I mean everyone, speaks Igbo as first language from children to adults. Majority bear Igbo names except for recent efforts by a few to adopt Olukwumi names. Then some speak Ilukwobi, who are mostly the adults. In addition, the Ilukwobi they speak has heavy Igbo influence, pronunciation and words adapted into it. The street language in Ugbodu is Igbo. Infact in Ugbodu no Ugbodu person will speak Olukwumi to another person on the street except he/she knows that the other person can speak/understand it because not everyone speaks it but instead Igbo because everybody speaks it in Ugbodu.

Coming back to the Iggas and Ogurugus. These people are not any more different from the Ilukwobis/Olukwumis of Delta state. Igbo is their native language, as evidenced in their native names. Igala is another language many learn to speak while growing up. That's the situation on ground.

You messed up on that olukumi aspect, I had a coursemate who is still a good friend, she is from ugbodu and olukumi needless to say. Everybody thinks she is Yoruba because of her first name even myself with minimal knowledge of Yoruba could easily translate, although her middle name (nobody in reality uses their middle name) was/is igbo. She was explaining to some of us how her tribe supposedly migrated from ondo (because they were surprised she was from delta)
If she is anything to go by igbo is still only a second language there

I come from a Local government that is 99.9% Muslim, 2002 or 2003 Xmas I was in the company of my Uncle, 2 Aunts and a Cousin We got to our Local government headquarters from our state capital where we were based.
We were trying to chatter a vehicle to our Village when one of the drivers said 'These are the Kafiris'! My joy and enthusiasm to go celebrate Xmas in the Village died down instantly. I know it's like a crime being a Christian in this part of the world but at least we deserve some respect not shoving the hatred down our throats.
The driver apologised but even before he could finish tendering his apology another interrupted that we are Kafiris and deserved no pity!
That was like 18 years or so ago!

Sorry my brother but tax laws are uniform, with uniform rates across the country, what is applicable in Lagos is 100% the same in Rivers. No state of the Federation has the power to lower it's tax rate or otherwise, stuffs like that are part of the JTB deliberate on, of which the federal government and the 36 states are members of, so come up with another excuse. There is no excuse for anambra state low igr (maybe corruption), why are sokoto and ebonyi doing better?

You should have said Igboland is more of slums because Ibadan is more developed than the SE states joined together. Ibadan also has better road network than Igboland.
