I b urhobo o, currently live in port harcourt, but i grew up in warri, anyway even when i was in warri i was not going to the village like that we only drive past them when travelling, me sef my urhobo na cut n nail

anoda problem I've noticed is the mentality of not only urhobo n isoko pepo, but all south southerners(save for akwaibom/crossriver pepo). Unlike the Yoruba n Igbo, the youths of the SS see their language as sumtin meant 4 d old n undope. It's normal to go a mall or youth party in lagos, ibadan, Akure n hear teens speaking yoruba or to a restaurant or club in enugu, onitsha, owerri n hear teens speaking igbo but u can't go to those places in warri, port harcourt, Benin n hear them speaking their language or even other tribes(yorubas, Igbos, etc) speaking their own language, it feels local to the SSners. Mentality problem, I use to feel that way too until i started travelling and saw that the major tribes didn't share this our menality
You have said the truth... But don't go around jumping into conclusions about isoko not been spoken my natives of all age in isokoland

That being said we need to do more in other to promote our languages... There used to be this urhobo cartoon like that

really? well i only visited oleh n ozoro once long ago, and the oda few villages i've visited in delta it's only the elderly dat speak d language d youths roll pidgin,
.While in cities warri, asaba, sapele local language is almost extinct(lol)
In my home town olomoro very close to Oleh. Everybody can speak isoko but it's not imposed on anybody. They answer you in the language you speak

The elderly, women, girls of all age, early teen boys and children use isoko to communicate amongst themselves while male youths of certain age code switch between both mostly favour pidgin... I was in oleh not quite long, people there speak also I saw some children and labourers speaking tho but not like us

The reason why our languages are dying is because the youth don't see it as fashionable since there is no new slang(yoruba has a lot thanks to their agberos grin), no movies,or music(modern music like olamide and phyno o) but warri pidgin alone is very creative and has a lot of trends that youths like..

I don't know about asaba but I think they should be fully igbo speaking o.

What tribe are you btw

Not yet. But we use digital stuffs just not to that level. For instance election results are displayed in real time online on the commission website.

Stark contrast with Kenya. In Kenya people complain that basic govt services cannot reach marginalized people in the furthest corners but voting material can reach every nook and cranny of the country without miss, on time and very securely.
Why are you Kenyans taking our elections so personally? Are you voting

well, the election has been postponed till next week Saturday due to logistics issues.
My man, it will be hard for Buhari to loose this election , the candidate for the opposition party aint a right option.
Electing the opposition would only show that our democracy has come of age, that we can elect whoever we want at will and second term isn't guaranteed like Jonathan like buhari to be. Then politicians would sit up because power has come to stay with the people.

But the south south a traditional pdp strong might pull a very big surprise from situations on ground here

I agree wholeheartedly, the hostilities towards Ghana are unwarranted. Ghana simply is unmatched in her own ways since ever. Kenya wants to be like Ghana. Small population but they have always staked their claim, by hardwork. Instead of attacking Ghana, Nigerians, attack the rest of of Africa. You are supposedly the "Giants". Go after South Africa, Egypt and Algeria. Stop this nonsense of going after Ghana. If you can't beat them, join them. smiley
It is high time you started acting your age, you seem to be getting silly by the day. You have been on Nairaland for over 10yrs. You should be 30+ at least. If jonraid acts this way we will allow him because he is a teenage boy

And about the giant tag,it would never get of Nairaland or the lips of Nigerians so don't kill yourself over it

Don’t joke with poverty ooh grin poverty can make people to do crazy things angry grin and that is why I am very concerned about the elections tomorrow. Every election, there is always tension in Nigeria. I have been a election observer in Nigeria since 1999. I am not observing this time but I am following closely from my base in Accra. For me, what makes the 2019 elections a bit worrying is the fact that the two leading candidates both want to win, coupled with the level of poverty, makes it a very scary scenario!

I know Atiku personally and I think he will make a better president, but will Buhari be willing to drop the ball and walk away like Jonathan did? The problem with nigerian leaders is not about the man at the top. Rather, it is about the people around him who are benefiting from his rule. I know what I am talking about. Very interesting times in Nigeria.

I pray you guys have a successful elections sha grin
Would you just eat your banku and mind your business

Laughable coming from someone from a country where "UK-used" anything seems to be on demand. The truth is, Nigerians worship anything foreign. Some of you even claim to be Jews, just to feel unique grin Everyday you butcher each other for rituals. Doesn't sound like a country where you "prioritise" or even value each other as humans. Parents selling off their kids for peanuts. If not that, then they bury them alive. The list to how evil you are towards your own is endless & yet you're here spewing self-righteous garbage. Remove South Africa from your deluded gobbledygook. We will NEVER put foreigners above our own people! Hell will 1st freeze over before that happens. I know you're crass & lack class, but there's a huge difference between being hospitable & straight up being a bootlicker. The latter is more YOUR style, Hector the projector. Don't you have a Chinese master to fan or feed grapes to as per your job description? One more thing, it is not our fault you're from an unattractive country that has nothing to offer tourists. Maybe if you didn't eat everything, including bush rats, you'd stand a chance to compete with the rest of us. Take that up with your maker & leave us out of your frustrations.

Btw, being a tour guide is more honourable than stealing underwear & removing people's intestines, in hopes of scoring a quick buck. Is there no end to your backwardness?
All this rubbish you posted about Nigeria yet you always on Nairaland 24/7 why not deactivate on focus on your perfect country
