First isoko is not a clan or subgroup within the urhobo ethnic nationality. Urhobo is made up of 23 kingdoms and isoko is not one of them, so how are they a subgroup abi is that what they told you

I don't know anything about whether Aniomas are Igbo or not, and I don't really care, but yes, Isokos are Urhobos, and there is no reason that makes sense why they are not. This fragmentation of Nigerian tribes is the most ridiculous I've seen anywhere in the world, where groups that are almost identical claim distinct identities that make no sense. There are 1.3 billion ethnic Han Chinese in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore etc and despite significant dialectic differences for such a large ethnic group, they identify as one. Only in Nigeria do we see the foolishness where ethnic groups that may occupy one local government in a state will claim to be a distinct ethnicity even when they share 90-something percent of their culture with another group. I don't understand that primitive mentality.

Urhobos are present in Delta South too. Specifically, in Warri South and Patani LGAs (this is not even taking consideration of some satellite Urhobo bases in Isoko). Furthermore, Urhobos are still in Bayelsa. Indeed, the current senator elect for Bayelsa West is an Urhobo man.
