Why is it that JAMB are so dull? I assisted a friend's daughter to print her result slip and they requested we register with their portal. After registration, we were directed to make payment, which I did conveniently. Just yesterday, I tried to print Admission letter for a neighbour and following past experience, we registered a new account in her name, but despite all efforts, the payment was rejected.

Now, if everyone is required to have ATM card that is enabled for online payments in order to do any business with JAMB, then many people, especially those in rural areas will be disenfranchised by this new policy from JAMB, where once an ATM card is registered in their system, you cannot use to make payment for any other person. Even the bank payment option is worse as the banks visited: Access Bank, First Bank, Ecobank, all claimed ignorance of the service. I tire.
please help me with what to fill in "card number" and " Security " on the online payment page.

Ps: i want to use a first bank atm, (it has never been used for any online transaction, can it work?) thank u

There's no such thing as "recall" (the pulling off of dangerous foods from the market and simply preventing them from being sold to people) in Nigeria, smh. That the gov't has been allowing this to be imported for four years and counting means they don't care. It's up to people to be watchful of what they buy and consume.
please get the facts right, the rice has been in production in china for the past 4years but just got to Nigeria.

HealthIs Cracking Your Knuckles Bad? by Dariye(op): 6:09pm On Sep 25, 2016
And just what is that cracking sound, anyway?
From fingers and toes to necks and knees, everyone knows a “cracker.” And most habitual joint poppers have heard rumors their habit may cause arthritis. But are those rumors true?
First, a quick anatomy lesson: Many of your joints—including those that allow your fingers to beckon or point—feature small pockets or gaps that are filled with synovial fluid. Like axle grease, this fluid allows the bones that commingle in your joints to glide close to one another without grating, explains Dr. Pedro Beredjiklian, chief of hand and wrist surgery at Philadelphia’s Rothman Institute.
When you pull, twist or otherwise “crack” a joint, you’re expanding the volume of space between your bones, Beredjiklian says. That volume expansion creates negative pressure, which sucks the synovial fluid into the newly created space. This sudden inflow of fluid is the popping you feel and hear when you crack a knuckle, he adds.
The more you crack your joint, the more you stretch and loosen both its capsule and the surrounding ligaments. And the looser those components become, the more easily your joint will pop, Beredjiklian says.
So is this bad for your joints? Almost certainly not, he assures. Multiple studies have looked into the prevalence of “crackers” among large groups of osteoarthritis patients. They found no evidence that finger pullers and poppers are more likely to suffer from arthritis than those who don’t crack their knuckles. One devoted researcher—a man who habitually cracked the joints on his left hand—actually studied himself.
After roughly six decades of lopsided joint popping, this case study of one showed no increased presence of arthritis in his left hand as opposed to his right.
“Finger cracking is so common you would expect to see a lot of causal reports if it was harmful,” Beredjiklian says. “But you don’t. So I think it’s unlikely cracking joints in hands leads to arthritis.”
While one 1990 study linked long-term joint popping to hand swelling and lower grip strength, there isn’t any more research to back up that finding. On the other hand (pun intended), at least one study concluded that knuckle cracking offers those who do it a sense of almost therapeutic “release.” Poppers, you can ignore your fusty aunt or cranky coworker when they try to scare you with talk of debilitating cracking-related ailments.
Just one note of caution: Tendons catching on irregular bone or joint formations can also explain some clicking or popping sounds, especially in places like your neck, Beredjiklian says. Whether this can cause harm will depend on the person and his or her anatomy. But if a weird sound emanates from your shoulder or knee when you flex it a certain way, you may want to avoid angering that area with deliberate cracking.

PRESS RELEASE
*from the university*

FUNAAB to resume soon, NUC Commends Excellent Pre-Screening Excercise
The statutory body charged with the responsibility for regulating the activities of universities in the country, the National Universities Commission (NUC), has commended the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), for successfully carrying out the 2016/2017 Pre-Admission Screening Exercise, for prospective students of the University.

The Senior Information and Monitoring Officer of NUC, Mr. Mohammed Tanko, who represented NUC at the occasion, lauded members of staff of FUNAAB and other government functionaries that actively participated in the 2016/2017 Pre-Admission Screening Exercise, for a job well done in terms of logistics, welfare, thoroughness and adherence to laid down procedures. Mr. Tanko stated that his task was to monitor the screening exercise, to ensure that the University does not breach the directive of the Federal Government given through the Honourable Minister of Education.

The Senior Information and Monitoring Officer added that, “So far so good, the process has been smooth. I observed that the security arrangements were properly made. The traffic and strategy that were deployed by both the internal and external security personnel, the Department of State Services (DSS) officers, which I saw on ground and men of other sister-agencies, who participated in the screening, were very much commendable. The strategy of the decentralised screening centre (as adopted by FUNAAB) was commendable, as students were well taken care of while transportation logistic was also commendable.

He stated further that, “One thing that was encouraging was the inclusion of security agents among members of the screening panel, especially, those from the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the DSS. They interviewed and studied the students and this helped to drop students, who are not competent enough to gain admission into federal universities, because federal institutions are the property of the Federal Government. I am very proud of the process and the formation of the panel because we have to ensure that candidates, who are qualified, are admitted while those who do not merit admission do not come and take the place of those who we really need to be productive agents in the future.”

The NUC official added that FUNAAB had a very beautiful campus, saying “I love the typography. The University is well maintained, the environment is serene, although, the students are not on campus. But from what I can see, I think that the Management of the University is taking care of its assets”. He charged the University Management to keep up the high standards, most especially, in the maintenance of the campus environment and continue to ensure quality as “we expect to have quality graduate output that would compete in private and public sectors within and outside the country. So, I advise that you adhere to NUC guidelines in the areas of admission quota, rules and regulations that would come from the government through the Federal Ministry of Education”.
The Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB and President, Association of African Universities, Professor Olusola Oyewole, who was physically on ground to monitor the exercise, disclosed that the screening exercise was very important, to ensure that only responsible and qualified students, who would add value to the quality of the educational system were admitted, as he charged the prospective students to be up and doing, assuring all that they were in the right environment that would help them fulfill their destinies in life.
Speaking on the resumption date for stale students, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that the committee that was set up to investigate the recent students' unrest had just submitted its report, adding that the Senate would soon sit to consider the report and take a decision on the new resumption date for the University.
Are you trying to say the screening exercise is over, that means no 2nd batch and what we should be expecting next is the admission list?
Interesting.
CrimeRe: Woman Beaten For "Possessing Spiritual Powers" In Benue State by Dariye(m): 6:03am On Sep 10, 2016
Seun:
The criminals caught with the body parts are suppliers. They supply those parts to people who stupidly believe that they can be used in rituals to make money. The belief in the power of money rituals creates the demand for body parts, despite the fact that the belief is completely false.
That's not convincing enough, I am sure you will agree with me that more than 50% of this evil act is successfully carried out and delivered. Now, if this successful once end up being for nothing(i.e. No ritual money), then it would have leaked and people would have desisted from body part dealings and trust Nigerians, we might be greedy but are smart people that won't venture into anything(both legitimate and not legitimate) that pulls so much risk if we have not seen others succeed in it.

Mind you, human parts according to past caught dealers is not only for money rituals, they are used for other evil purposes. May God save us.
CrimeRe: Woman Beaten For "Possessing Spiritual Powers" In Benue State by Dariye(m): 9:37pm On Sep 09, 2016
Seun:
Money doesn't come overnight to anybody as a result of rituals. Except in Yoruba, Igbo, and Religious movies, which we unwisely believe to be real. People who consult ritualists are duped by the ritualists, basically, but they can't report the ritualists without incriminating themselves.
money ritual isn't real?
What about those people that are being caught with human body parts, what do you think is the use of those parts... Eat dinner with it?

pls guys, for those that know FUNAAB's admission procedure, what could be delaying invitation for screening for a candidate with 230+ in utme, 3 As and 6Bs in WAEC and making FUNAAB Most preferred choice for Banking and Finance. Or are there other Academic requirements we dont know? Pls NLDers, more info will be highly appreciated.
i went for the screening today and while we were on the queue outside, some of the friendly staff around were discussing about it with students and they were assuring that there's gonna be a 2nd batch.
I,on my own part think they deliberately wanna do it in batches so as to avoid congestion.

I am sure there will be 2nd batch, it just might be after this first batch screening sha o (which will take 3days)
so, be optimistic cos you have a good score/grade.
