CEZEJUST: Bro the matter wasn't funny, the frustration was mad. I had to apply in 5 other different bank's and was looking for ways till I get into the Bank FORM A and PTA/BTA system. So my case became different.
Now regardless of the Bank you applied from, availability of funds matters because the funds for school fees is not always available.
The tips I am going to give you is, don't chose a fancy bank or branch that has lots of customers to satisfy.
Chose branch that has few customers that need school fees payment, that way, even if funds are not available at the time you applied, immediately funds became available you will be among those to get first.
onatisi: it will destroy the economy, you are ok because you are in a city where there is telecom networks, atm, pos and you have the luxury of being educated. there are many who are in remote areas where the network is very bad, how will they transact? how will food sellers going deep into rurarl areas pay farmers when even ppl in the cities are rejecting the new notes / we don't have the infrastructure yet to do these things.
GodswillBeDone: Well, first you need a return flight ticket then you need to let them know before you even choose the branch so they can give you best advice based on your itinerary.
Which bank did you use and how long did it take before they sent the fees?
like i said i am in school fees payment stage. first bank. how long does it stay on adb reviewer.
FFF241: As per the second paragraph, Nigeria could have asked for Naira for its crude oil long ago even without Dangote refineries. Crude oil is the major foreign exchange earner of Nigeria ( about 90%), if it sells its only saviour in Naira, how will it earn forex for its numerous foreign obligations?
Dangote refinery buys crude oil for refining in dollars (because it’s priced in $ per barrel earning Nigeria forex) and will also sell in dollars as well. Remember there are foreign loans taken out by refinery which have to be paid back , its major raw material is bought in foreign currency. Why would Dangote refineries sell its output to Nigeria in Naira?
Even if Nigeria pays Dangote refineries in Naira, it’ll still need to exchange same for dollars to settle these obligations.
The refinery will save Nigeria forex rather earn forex.
KEY QUESTIONS ARE:
-What is the daily capacity of the refinery vs the daily local demand ( to determine what will be left for possible export and forex earnings by Dangote)
- What is Nigeria’s crude oil production capacity vs the refinery’s capacity ( to determine what will be left for possible export and forex earnings by Nigeria)
Can currencies appreciate sustainably against the dollar? Sure
Can Naira appreciate sustainably against the dollar? Near impossible with the status quo
It’s all about supply and demand. Anything that can increase the demand for naira, increase the supply of dollars and or reduce the demand for dollars and supply of Naira will cause the Naira to appreciate in a sustainable fashion. With poor financing, insecurity, decaying infrastructure, deplorable educational system, rent seeking, no rule of law etc how can the business environment be conducive for export industries ?
Lucrativress: I have just heard another new one 1st paragraph share brain 2nd one E no add up So ladies not living under their parents roof are... Better stop generalising

humility101: I met this lovely lady (30 yo) online 2 months ago. She is in Nigeria and I’m in the Uk. We have been actively chatting, phoning and having lots of facetime. She’s got all they qualities I need in a wife. She has also gone to see my peeps once and they said nice things about her.
I’m planning on wedding her this Christmas and she can join me immediately (UK can be very lonely without a partner) on a dependent visa.
But sometimes I pause and ask myself, I hope I’m not rushing this whole thing? I hope she is not pretending to be nice? I hope she truly loves me? I hope she is not seeing me as a means to japa? A lot of questions going through my mind. This is marriage and I don’t wanna make mistakes.
Advice me please.
You found a lady online lolz.
Omo, first thing first does she have a job, Don't ever wife a woman that doesn't have a verified source of income.
If she is young, is she staying with her parents? Girls who are in their 20-30 and still have strong affiliation with their immediate families are the best.
Munamoqel: the black market must not be supported to operate . They must be treated as treasonable . Any Landlord that give his property to be used as a BDC or Dollar trading zone will be forfeit to govt ! Any dollars street trading is laible to 5 years prison term and all properties earn via such income will be forfeit . It illegal to trade in currency like tomato's and pepper . BDC approved must only have offices inside departure terminal of international airports .
I tire oo. I don't know why CBN can not put these guys in there place
Munamoqel: 20 bn USD unproductive sitting in dorm accounts .this is wrong !all inflow into Nigeria dorm accounts will be credited in Naira . We can be using dollars printed in America !
The problem still flows back to black market arbitrage and currency continuous devaluation, people are scared to leave their money in naira.
And BDC is not helping matters
The CBN should regulate the black market and set a percentage that this dollar can be sold in respect to the official rate.
Fxchange: I am currently trying to get rid of my Naira as i want to make a purchase here in US. I have put in a form A but it is taking too long. If anyone here in the US is looking to buy Naira for USD please reach out rate $1=N660. Rate can be negotiated based on volume. Please reach out
Dangote refinery is set to start operation mid next year, which would drastically add value to our naira.
Oil is priced in USD, the government can mandate the sell of crude product in USD but if the crude is paid in naira a percentage discount would be applied. This would make foreign countries to start holding the naira esp African countries within.
The CBN would also limit the printing of naira and activate the Enaira digital currency in phases, starting from big cities. A scarce and sort after naira, increases currency value.
Any profit we get from crude sells should be channeled in improving our gold reserve instead of stock pilling dollars that can be printed at will by the US.
Our debt should be paid with the dollars received from exports.
While improving other sectors. Economist is this logical?
iamjean: I believe i am in a very good position to advice you
I started working at 22, and i was earning over 200k then, it looked like a very good pay for a young boy, in fact it is a very good pay for a young boy. I thought of travelling to do my maters but after listening to advices from a lot of people, i stayed back.
Right now, i will turn 28 this year and i earn over 400k, i want to let you know that i am leaving this country by September.
that 400k cannot even maintain the lifestyle i was living when i was 22. sometime , i feel like i spent the last 5 years of my life chasing shadows
if i was in the UK, 5 years is enough time for me to stabilize and set up my life.
the economy keeps getting bad, even though i still have money to play around with, walahi i am feeling the heat of the economy like crazy. people that are requesting help from me has increased by 10 times in the last 2 years.
a lot of sorry cases left and right around me. i've made up my mind, no matter what comes may, i'm gone by september.
