sufido123:
On a serious note some jokes can be very helpful in relieving stress. However, some can be used to drive home a serious point. As we face a choice between Goons, bloodthirsty terrorists and GEJ. We need to pay attention to the options we have. You may not like GEJ but do you really want Buhari? In 2011 he sanctioned the killings of innocent Nigerians because he lost an election. Buhari is a joke carried too far.

He has threatened to call out the almajiri to soak more baboons and dogs in blood in 2015. As we ponder these jokes, we need to pause and remember those killed by Buhari terrorists in 2011. You and I could be next in 2015. Ikechukwu and Okpokiri lost their lives serving the nation they loved because Buhari soaked baboons and dogs in their blood! Now stop laughing take a moment of silence for the following Youth Corpers Killed by Buhari's terrorists in 2011:

The names of the deceased are: Teidi Tosin Olawale (from Osun State, BSc Computer Science); Nkwazema Anslem Chukwunonyerem (Imo State, HND Electrical Electronic Engineering), Okpokiri Obinna Michael (Abia State, BSc Environmental Management), Adowei Elliot (Bayelsa State, BSc Computer Science) and Adewunmi Seun Paul (Ekiti State, BSc, Social Sciences).

Others are Adeniji Kehinde Jehleel (Osun State, BSc Banking & Finance), Gbenjo Ebenezer Ayotunde (Osun State, BSc, Education Economics), Ukeoma Ikechukwu Chibuzor (Imo State, BSc Medical Microbiology) and Akonyi Ibrahim Sule (Kogi State, HND Business Administration).

This is no laughing matter! We should not let history repeat itself. Not in 2015. Let us all say never again! If you vote for Buhari, you would have ratified the killings of these innocent Nigerians and their blood would invariably be on your neck!
A vote for GEJ will be a vote to rectify the unjust deaths of immigration job seekers.Guy get a life.

I honestly apologise if my previous comment offended you as it wasn't on purpose.

I was out to represent President Jonathan and at the same time trying to suggest a civilised template of international standard that can be dependable and referred to by local and international media.

I wanted a great debate like no other in Nairaland history comprising five representatives on each side on the divide where unfounded allegations and gossip are not admissible nor entertained. Just like you said It should be topical issues based debate

Sorry for the perceived contempt.

OP

Buhari's economic ideal is rooted in Fulani economic ideal which is plunder and share.

Do you know that subsidy was introduced by a Northern petroleum minister.? Why, to share the booty of war amongst his people.

Do you know that Buhari built a refinery in Kaduna which has no oil. While the SE region which is an oil producing region never had one to this day.? Why

Buhari put Alex(VP) in kirikiri while Shagari was placed under house arrest.

The fact is

Buhari will never win and if you guys from SW protest and do anything funny, your region will be .................
If i call you a dumb person that would be very uncivilized of me,so i will not call you a dumb person but that does not change the fact

We're aware that the PDP has sent out their Supporters to canvass for Atiku so as for him to emerge our great Party's Presidential Aspirant. Why?! Because they feel he's too weak to contest against Jonathan. Before Electorates cast their votes, they would first ask themselves "Who's an achiever and who's the failure between these 2?" They would say Jonathan is an achiever compared to Atiku and give their votes to Jonathan.

I know so many Buhari Aficionados in reality, on Nairaland and on Facebook who would rather sit at the comfort of their home on that day of Election than to go to the Polls and vote Atiku, even if Buhari officially/formally begs them [his fans] to do so. To me, GEJ is bad, but Atiku is worse.

It seems Nda-Isaiah is ready for a Consensus Candidate. If other Aspirants like Atiku, Okorocha and Kwankwaso agree to step down. Buhari would emerge. Nda-Isaiah has said if all the Aspirants agree, he has no problem with that. The only problem would be Atiku. But if he still insists on going to the field for primaries, he should be ready of humiliation once again. Verbum sat sapienti (a word is enough for the wise).

Buhari should first emerge as the Candidate before serious campaigns commence.
Bros are you a prophet.Your post here is my exact thinking. With Atiku as the APC candidate,my PVC would just be for identification purposes only.
GEJ is a no no for me.

This is very simple logic, think of individual wealth, have you seen anyone who became extremely wealthy by minimising waste?
People become wealthy by generating more income than they consume. To be wealthy you need to engage in profitable economic activity. Shouting no corruption does not always translate to economic wealth. Rather individual economic wealth can trigger better anti corruption policies as wealthy citizens can more easily challenge obnoxious policies that breed corruption.

There are many countries with little corruption but yet are in deep shit. Think of Ghana for example, With a good corruption rating from Transparency international of 63/ 177 compared to Nigeria's position of 144/177, Nigeria economy is growing while Ghana's is economy is almost in junk status. Another example is cuba, with a good corruption rating of 63/177, the cuban economy is still in the wilderness.

Vote for candidates that have the better economic policies, good economic policies can lift millions out of poverty in a short while, singing anti-corruption does not easily translate into wealth creation.
Bros i put your question back to you, where have you seen a wasteful man become wealthy?A foundation must be laid before a building is put up.
Corruption must first be dealt with before any meaningful development can take place.Nigeria is blessed with resources that generates
income but bulk of our commonwealth is concentrated in a few hands due to corruption,if what you are arguing is correct, why are we where we are in
such a mess in this country.
PoliticsRe: Buhari: No Vision But Anticorruption Mantra by dat9jaguy(m): 1:18pm On Nov 25, 2014
ogb5:
Wrong.

The 1st step is creating wealth for the citizens on the country. Even if we eliminate all corruption, which has not been done anywhere in the world, and still earn 50 billion dollars a year as foreign exchange income for 170 million people, we will still be a poor country. Because 50 billion usd per year for 170 million is equivalent to 80 us cents a day per person. This income still puts us in the poverty category.

What we need is someone who can galvanise NNigerians to engage more on economic activities that will generate more income.

Buhari knows next to nothing about economics, his regime in the early 80's set the stage for the destruction of the economy as importation of many vital industrial raw materials where prohibited by him leading to the collapse of industries.
Wrong, what is the sense in creating wealth for a nation if at the end it is stolen through corruption. The logical step is plug your leakage
so that your bucket will fill on time.

Corruption is it the only issue we have in this countryhuhWhat other plans do he has for our agricultural sector, economy, Education, power sector,Unemployment? Because what I hear every time is kill corruption, murder corruption, impeach corruption, and so on.
The first step in achieving a great nation is to plug waste so that enough money can be channeled to developmental projects.Having said that,i believe
we need this man to clean up the stable, after which a more cerebral president can take over to push for development.
PoliticsRe: Attention, Obiano; Onitsha And Environs Getting Dirtier And Choatic !!!! by dat9jaguy(m): 10:17pm On Nov 23, 2014
OkijaAmaka:
I will like to use this medium to bring attention of the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano to the filthy path Onitsha the commercial nerve center of the state and her environs is going. If i should rate all the ministries in Anambra State base on perfomance, efficiency and seriousness, i think i should rate the ministry of environment the least perfoming, the most docile and the most unserious in Anambra.
Onitsha end of the Niger Bridge to Zik's Roundabout is becoming an eyesore aswell as sordid, the whole places are being littered with pure water sachets, the streetsweepers are not evacuating sands by the shoulders of the roads thereby causing heaps of sandunes that make the beautiful roads look dusty, unkempt and unpalatable.

The traders at the Electromart have taken over half of the service lane and converted it to parking lots while miscreants are seen collecting fees from them in exchange for parking space in a public road, commercial vehicles are loading and offloading passengers indiscriminately, the Upper Iweka part of the road have been taken over by commercial buses plying the Onitsha-Asaba, they park buses with reckless abandone, this needed to be stopped immediately.

H.E. roadside traders are taking over our highways, they are littering the entire city with their poor sanitation culture, throwing dirts and wastes at will thereby blocking the drainages and littering the environment.

I have been in the city for weeks now having decided to relocate here permanently and am seeing the challenges of governing a booming and one of the fastest developing cities in the world. This is no longer Onitsha one can use 24hrs to see the length and breathd of the city, the city is moving from a metropolitant Onitsha to a cosmopolitant Onitsha that is densely populated with heaviest concentration of highrise neighbourhoods in Nigeria,Educational and Religious Institutions, Intl Mkts, Business Parks and Industrial Estates adorning the city's landscape.

Garbage evacuating trucks are seen daily evacuating wastes yet their services remain unnoticed, heaps of overflowing roadside refuse dumps are becoming common recently....whyhuh

Onitsha have changed and transformed from a mere commercial town to a sprawling city that is spilling to adjoining towns like Nsugbe, Ogbunike, Umunya, Oba, Akwu Ukwu, Nkwerre,Okpoko, Iyiowa Odekpe, Ohita, Atani as well as Asaba, Okwe and Ibusa in Delta State.
Having discovered that the more the city expand the greater the challenges of overseeing effective infrastructural development become Herculean task esp in a state like ours that is still learning the rope.

H.E. am not complaining about education, roads, healthcare delivery or security, these are top notch in my dear state presently even your opponents can attest to that, if half of the states in Nigeria can get to the level of ours in those areas, i think achieving the MDGs by Nigeria will be a realities.

Obiano giving Ndi Amambra a decent and clean environment should be a task that must be taken serious, politicking shouldnt be a distraction to this noble cause, we deserve it and we must achieve it.

His Excellency, your subject is unhappy over this ugly development and i plead things get fixed as soon as posibble without much administrative redtapeism and perpetual setting up of committes which characterize an average Nigeria leadership attitude.

I have seen your good works in other areas and am impressed, pls fix this and win more fans.

Ndewo
If you were living in Onitsha some 4 to 5 years back you would know that Onitsha has really changed for the better.I relocated from Onitsha in
2010 and i went back last week for some business,lo and behold,i saw the greatest transformation any city in Nigeria should pray for(road wise and urban renewal ).From
the comments above i now know some people just sit down somewhere far from their object of study and comment blindly.

And the C-I-C said that SOE is the approach that can tackle the Issue of the insurgents but the law makers disagree. If the president is so blamed for the under achievement of the military under partial SOE, what would they say if he were to send troops and theyperform less than the SOE case. Is he going to employ troops from another country or will it be the same military that was there during the state of emergency?

If people think that this partial state of emergency has failed, they should be agitating for full state of emergency and not taking the situation lightly.
I believe reasonable people should agitate for tougher approach and lighter handling of the issue.
What we have in these states are full state of emergencies and if you think because they still retain the govs then it is partial SOE,the courts have ruled that the
president cannot remove an elected gov if SOE is declared in the affected state as was the case in OBJ's time.Back to the matter,i insist SOE or no SOE
GEJ can and should send troops anywhere they are needed.

Following the conspiracy by the house of reps to destabilize the North East and allow boko haram to take over the affected states and beyond by rejecting the extension of Emergency rule in the affected states in North East Nigeria, The federal government is set to withdraw the Nigerian troops fighting to recover the states taken by boko haram insurgents.

The house declared the presence of the troops in the mentioned states as illegal as the emergency extension was denied.

Since the politics of hate and conspiracy is at peak in the Nigerian polity, it is time for every individual to defend oneself from every terrorist and crime.

The NASS has openly declared that the security of the nation is no longer in the hand of the president and they did not specify who should protect the life and property of Nigerians, every individual should not expect the any form of security from the president.
As the C-I-C,for now,GEJ has the right to send troops to any part of the country. He does not need to declare state of emergency to do that.

Our approach should be multi pronged. We should as matter of urgency use our intelligence units to track and trace their sponsors and neutralize them;Create
blockade in towns they now occupy, starving them of needed funds and supplies until they are forced to either surrender or come out for full frontal battle, which our army
is more suited for;Sponsor terrorist groups in Chad,Niger and Cameroon,so that those countries would be busy with their problems and hands off their clandestine
support of Boko Haram.

BK shoots women, children, and old people in church---you say n othing.
BK kidnaps school kids--it's ok by you
BK changes Mubi to an Islamic name,----you pop a champagne
BK blows up a bank--you hope they got enough money
BK shoots at market women and steal their stuff items---you ignore that
BK proclaims to islamize Nigeria---you can't wait?
BK rapes and forcefully convert small christian girls--you get a hard on

Shame on you and your sponsors, ISIS will never thrive in Nigeria
You don't create a monster to defeat another monster. If per adventure the monster you created defeats the other monster then how do you destroy the monster you created
before it turns on you?The solution rests in cutting off their finances, track and arrest the sponsors, create blockade in territories they now hold, sit back and let them exhaust
their supplies. When things get critical for them they will either surrender or come out for full frontal battle,of which Nigeria Army is more suited for.

Reading what many supposedly learned Nigerians are writing concerning the election of Hon Tambuwal as speaker of the House of Reps in 2011, two things come to my mind - either these people do not know what they are talking about or they simply refused to face the truth. Agreed that the constitution do not stipulate which party the house speaker should come from. But it is an unwritten agreement that the party with the majority produces the speaker and deputy for obvious reason. Except in the second republic where the minority produces the speaker, the majority has always done so. That of the second republic was unique because there was a political alignment of forces between the then majority NPN and the minority NPP. They called it an accord.
Those that are saying that election of Tambuwal as speaker was not on party basis, should ask themselves why were the candidates only PDP members? Why didn't the other parties that later merged to form the APC not contest that seat. Only the PDP contested because they were the majority party. If Tambuwal was not a PDP member, he wouldn't have contested for that seat.
What you are saying essentially is that their is an unwritten agreement that majority party should produce the speaker, just as GEJ
made an unwritten agreement to do only 1 term which he has broken.Binding agreements are written, signed and sealed, any thing
other than these are not admissible in court. So stop drinking panadol for another man's headache.
