I followed with keen interest the peace meeting called by the revered Oba of Benin to ensure peaceful and violent free election. When I first read about the meeting, I was excited because the manner with which the two leading parties, PDP and APC have been going about the election is worrisome as it portends danger for not just Edo but Nigeria at large. First of all Obaseki and Shuaibu are the chief security officer of the state.
Kabaka is just a pawn in the hand of Oshiomole the same way Muntari and Ebo stone are pawns in the hand of Shuabu. The Oba called the main actors. Before the Oba called them, do you think he hasn't spoken to Ebo Stone and Kabaka privately. When he referred to Shauibu as the tough one he is right. Obaseki isn't tough, go and ask around in Benin city, they will tell you who Shuaibu is. We all know Shuaibu is a rugged man. So the Oba did not hide his words. The Oba knows the capability of everyone of the actors there and he spoke to them.

I am a PDP man and I tell you, Shuaibu is a dogged man. The Oba no mince words. He spoke to everyone of them. People in Edo state understand this and everybody blood don calm down small. Come to Benin, people are happy for what he did. If you felt he came too hard on Shuaibu, e get why.....lol

Something happened at the palace gate when PDP flagged their campaign. That thing angered the Oba of Benin. It isn't done. People here are quick to forget that this same Oba spoke against godfatherism and consensus candidates. He blessed both.

He is not partisan but he is only saying the things he knows about. The Oba of Benin once said that it was the PDP government that appointed him ambassadors, so he knows his onions.

This is not about politics.
We are Edo people, we dy Benin city and everyone knows what's going on.

Edo people know that the only way Oshiomole and their thugs can e contained is matching them with ur own thugs so they clearly support the PDP.

The Oba already castigated everyone. But you must understand that Obaseki is not also a contestant but chief security officer of the state.
My whole family is voting Obaseki. The Oba just told all of them to calm down. You people don't live in Edo, you people will be typing rubbish.

Election never reach people dy die for here during campaign for accident and other things. The political atmosphere is already tensed. What the Oba did was to calm nerves down.

Truth of the matter is this election is mainly between Oshiomole and Obaseki. Oshiomole is fighting fr his political survival. Him and his old cronies.

All the old politicians are with Oshiomole, so they're fighting for their survival because Obaseki no give them face. If Obaseki wins this election, Oshiomole is finished. Ize iyamu and Obaseki no really get issues, it is that Short Oshiomole who has vowed to cause trouble for Obaseki and Philip.


Why is Nairaland not showing where the Oba talked to Oshiomole. Nairaland is too pro-Apc in this Edo election.

My 100lv I returned home very dark and scurvy but with okay grades and cgpa of 3.8.

In my 200lv I tried to balance my life but I got my first carry over in a course not because I failed but because the omr machine couldn't grade my answer sheet. I was so frustrated at second semester same 200lv I tried my best to cover up for my first semester results but it's only got worst my total cgpa in 200lv is 3.4 might be probably because of a position I held in my department and what annoyed me most was some of my friends who I teach and help in exam halls got a very good grade than me, I felt really down and got to understand it's not just by jacking and night class oh just know your way like most of my course mates do and your grades might be ok.


I just currently resumed 300lv with a strong reading spirit before this corona came and spoil everything now I'm at home and it seems have lost that sense of me being a bright student because it doesn't show in my result and I'm even scared I might not graduate with a 2.1 I'm studying statistics crushing the maths isn't easy.

Politics will affect your CGPA trust me. You can never balance the two. One will suffer for the other for a while. In my department, CGPA was calculated using this formula
40%----400l
30%%-----300l
20%------200l
10%------100l

So find out what % they use in your department. If you look at my department %, you can see that even if you are 2.2 in 200l, you can make first class from just your 300l and 400l result.

Find out what works best for you
You have to motivate yourself. I remember one time I was in my office and a senior colleague who had graduated came to school to see me. He told me, he said just try and get a 2.1. Life out there is crazy, but just get a 2.1

I had to up my game. I already had strings of carry over's to write. Be careful with some lecturers. They still fail people in Uniben for no reason. When I was in final year I was in 2.2

But I graduated with a 2.1
I never blocked any course in school
No spill over or extra year.

Yes in some area. Some places around upper mission last week had about 72 hours light. I think the areas suffering from light issues are areas with bad transformers. If the transformer is good, they increase the hours

Even the GMD missile defense (America main defense system) has a success rate of between 40-50%.
Currently even US and Russia has acknowledged that there's no missile defense that can complete defend against barrage of attack (we are talking of multiple simultaneously strikes which mostly consist of decoys).
The iron dome is effective no doubt but it still lack 100% intercept rate.
You intercepting an icbm is possible due to different interconnected networking sensors at different battle stations what happened when one is compromised (as enemy will try to offset this majorly through electronic attacks)
Currently now the US has not perfected its intercept on adversary missiles in fact Russia claim to possess icbm (like the Satan icbm) that posses decoy and can fool missile defense.

The Russia has missile above Mach 4+ (brahamos 3+ and the new brahamosII 7+ under development)
Icbm travels many times speed of sounds some Mach 20+ and are worst to intercept during their terminal stage especially with detaching multiple warheads.
Most test the US conduct with their missile test is usually a one on one scenario in a controlled environment. But in actual combat your enemy is not a full to just throw one missile your way the more they launch the more survivable they are are against intercept.
Currently the US do not have any defense against Russia and Chinese hypersonic missiles which can be fitted with nuclear warhead and can attack anywhere in America.

Yes the US are planning the Sr 72 for missiles intercept but it's not ideal to use an aircraft to intercept an ICBM because you'll have to destroy it at its boost/initial stage before it escape the atmosphere which means you'll have to travel into adversary airspace. Also at their mid course face they travel in space and many times at the speed of sound which make them impossible to be intercepted by a plane.
Also the doctrine, sophistication, logistics and cost of using a plane for intercept is out of it (check why America cancel the boeling YAL1)
Currently now intercepting an ICBM is more complex than as it is in paper.. Only in actual combat can we know its effectiveness.
America fighter planes has anti missile systems and decoys but yet they are still shot down sometimes by even obsolete and outdated SAM, does that means it's not effective? No because combat is more complex than what's promised on paper.

So for now we can't rule the effectiveness of air defense systems against ICBM and also the survivability of an ICBM except they are both tested in real combat and complex environments where they are at their stressing point.
For now just as America as claimed to counter opponent missiles,Russia and China had also claimed to have missiles that can fool these missile defenses.... So it's all about the CLAIM from both sides hence a PAPER TIGER
