FrancisTony:You could have just said the knowledge of Biology is needed in MBBS or some courses studied by MBBS students are related to Biology .....not MBBS is a branch of biology.... I mentioned those courses in my initial post cos some of them aren't totally related to biology ( they're more of chemistry, etc)......... |
Sirwallace:How are they being lenient.....you should also know that in that same dept, there're students that'll still graduate with a 3rd class or pass or were even withdrawn before they had a chance to graduate ......... In the previous years, we've had best graduating students with 4.98, 4.96, etc.....But in her own case, she decided to put in more effort and also by the grace of GoD had straight A's........ |

surdman99:In depends on your faculty and dept |
I disagree with number 2.....you Dont need to be a die-hard fan of the library to make a 1st class........Most of the 1st class students in my dept hardly go to the library to read( though they can go there to source for information from the books and internet)........... modified: you guys should go and read the post on the UNILAG girl that graduated with a 5.0 CGPA, that proves the above statement |

Peter Dada, Akure The pan-Yoruba socio-cultural association, Afenifere has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the flushing out of Boko Haram militants from Sambisa forest by the military. The association however declared that there is no greater achievement for the administration than to embark on restructuring of the country, as recommended by the 2014 national confab . The Secretary-General of Afenifere, Chief Seinde Arogbofa while speaking with our correspondent on Thursday, also stated that the country would have no peace until it is restructured. He said,” Our governments had been run on trial and error; occasionally they become successful. President Buhari has won the Sambisa war, we congratulate him but he still has to win peace in the country. ” Our view is that until we have enduring structures as laid down in the 2014 confab report, we won’t be able to have peace and progress. http://punchng.com/buhari-has-won-the-sambisa-war-but-he-still-has-to-win-peace-afenifere/ cc. lalasticlala

BY UGOCHUKWU ALARIBE ABA – Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign States of Biafra, MASSOB, has urged the United States President elect, Mr. Donald Trump to save the people of Biafra from what it described as infliction of wicked policies, intimidation and mass killings of Biafra activists by the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in Nigeria. The group alleged that more Biafrans had been killed for demanding for their rights under Buhari than previous administrations in the country, and appealed to the US President elect to help Biafra gain independence from Nigeria as soon as he is sworn in to office on January 20. Addressing 30 newly appointed zonal coordinators in Aba, MASSOB Leader for Abia South Zone, Okporie Nkama, who urged the Biafra people not to be discouraged by the sufferings which they have been subjected to in Nigeria, added that actualization of Biafra’s independence is only a matter of time. He commended the international community and corporate organizations for their firm support for the actualization of Biafra independence, assuring that “Biafrans are being killed and detained without cause by the Nigerian government. Biafrans have become endangered species in Nigeria. Now, you have been commissioned with a sacred assignment to ensure that your people are free from slavery, intimidation, mass killings and wicked policies against Biafrans by the Nigerian government. It is no mean task. You must rise to the occasion. Remember our non violence strategy; we will certainly gain independence through non violence. Biafrans are encouraged by the support we are getting from the international community. We urge United States President elect, Donald Trump, to come to the aid of Biafrans as soon as he is sworn in. Biafrans are at the risk of extermination under the hammer of the Nigerian government. It is an appeal Trump and the international community not to leave us to die under Buhari.” Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed zonal directors, George Ejiofor who is the director of Information for Abia South, commended the MASSOB founder, Ralph Uwazuruike, Chief MASSOB Leader, Solomon Chukwu as well as MASSOB Leader for Abia South, Okporie Nkama, and a member of the Elders’ Council of Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, Chief Larry Odinma, for their efforts in the Biafran struggle and promised that they would not relent in their agitation until an independent state of Biafra is actualized. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/massob-to-trump-save-biafrans-from-mass-killing-intimidation/ cc. lalasticlala |
The Federal Government on Thursday said plans were underway to upgrade the Instrument Landing Systems at the country’s major airports to ensure that they are working better. This is with a view to minimising the sort of flight disruptions that had featured every harmattan season in the country. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement announcing the suspension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled one-day working visit to Bauchi State. Shehu attributed the trip’s postponement to what he called prevailing weather conditions in the country. He quoted the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, as announcing the planned upgrade while reacting to the bad weather that forced Buhari to postpone the trip. The presidential spokesman said, “Uncooperative weather which has been the bane of air travel in the current harmattan season, leading to the delay and cancellation of flights, reared its head in Abuja Airport this (Thursday) morning, preventing the take-off of the President’s plane for the trip to Bauchi. “Technical information received from the weather station showed that visibility as at this (Thursday) morning was 600 meters, 200 metres short of the 800 metres minimally required for a safe aircraft take-off. “According to the information available, the visibility was expected to drop to 300 metres before improving to permissible limit later in the day. “The commander of the Presidential Air Fleet, Air Commodore Hassan Abubakar, said that the Presidential Aircraft was in perfect condition, the weather in Bauchi was alright, but that the problem was in Abuja.” In cancelling the visit to the state, Shehu said the President expressed regret over the disruption caused by the bad weather. He said Buhari, in a recorded audio and video message to the people of the state said he looked forward to the visit in the course of which he was to commission an Air Force medical facility and a number of other projects by the state government. He said he also intended to thank the people for their relentless support in all his political undertakings. “We make our plans, God makes His own plans,” the President was quoted as saying. Buhari thanked the government and people of Bauchi State and the Nigerian Air Force for the studious and elaborate preparations made to receive him, and assured them that he is going to visit the state at a more auspicious time. http://punchng.com/fg-plans-upgrade-airports-landing-systems/ cc . lalasticlala
